Gaowu invasion, I can see the future

50: Why can you use it? The attack is comingAfter the lightning dissipated, Professor Feng quickly walked out of the building and headed towards the scepter floating in the distance.

When he arrived beneath the scepter, he suddenly realized he was a bit too excited; this was clearly someone else’s item, and he was acting as if he was going to snatch it!

Turning back somewhat awkwardly, he looked at Bai Yu and said, ”Haha, just a moment of excitement, a moment of excitement. Can I borrow your scepter to try it out?”

”Of course, Professor, please do as you wish.”

After receiving permission, Professor Feng could no longer contain his excitement. He immediately mobilized the power of lightning to pull the scepter down.

Upon holding it, he immediately felt a sense of heaviness.

The scepter’s weight seemed to have increased dozens of times; originally only two or three kilograms, it now might have reached forty or fifty kilograms!

This weight wasn’t particularly exaggerated for an extraordinary person.

The originally smooth scepter was now engraved with numerous inscriptions. Looking at these exquisite inscriptions, Professor Feng truly wanted to study them thoroughly to see if he could decipher Advanced inscriptions usable by lightning cultivators.

’What a pity, this is someone else’s treasure.’

He held the scepter, quite reluctant to put it down, and tried to activate it, but even after injecting his spiritual power into it, he still felt that the scepter was like a bottomless pit, only taking in and not releasing!

Seeing this, he couldn’t help but frown: ”This scepter still seems unusable.”

Hearing this, Bai Yu was a bit curious. The intelligence indeed said that he had only forcefully activated this scepter in an emergency. Could there be some crucial point?

If it couldn’t be used now, and could only be kept as a last resort, that would be too disappointing! Intelligence that couldn’t be immediately monetized wasn’t good intelligence.

Thinking of this, he considered for a moment and said, ”Professor Feng, can you let me see it?”

”Of course, this is your item.”

He regretfully handed the item to Bai Yu.

After Bai Yu took it, he carefully poured spiritual power into it.

As soon as he poured it in, he felt as if a furious primeval beast was hidden within this scepter.

And he seemed to be able to use its power, even activating the scepter.

’Holy crap! I seem to be able to use it!?’

’This intelligence is great!’

Feeling this, Bai Yu cautiously guided a small portion of the energy within it and released it.

A lightning snake suddenly shot out from the scepter, flying forward and landing on the ground.

With a ’boom,’gravel and dirt splattered.

Professor Feng was stunned when he saw this scene and asked, ”What Realm are you in? Why can you mobilize the internal energy?”

”Gathering Qi Realm. As for mobilizing it, I feel that after injecting energy, I can resonate with the vast energy sealed within it and directly use this energy.”

To give some food for thought to the suspected mole in the crowd, he added: ”However, I can only mobilize a very small portion. The vast energy within it requires a higher Realm to be fully mobilized.”

Professor Feng, however, was somewhat puzzled. It shouldn’t be, the same item, it was just activated.

Why couldn’t he use it?

”Let me try again?”

”Okay.”

Taking the scepter, Professor Feng injected a large amount of spiritual energy, but there was still no reaction.

”That’s strange!? How come you can do it?”

To Professor Feng, this was like an unsolved mystery.

Bai Yu guessed that perhaps his energy came from the ancient god Zhang Jiao?

But what does Zhang Jiao have to do with the World Tree branch?

After a few more attempts, Professor Feng completely gave up and said, ”Alright, this item really seems to be fated with you!”

”If you research anything significant on this scepter, you can discuss it with me. If you can figure out those strange inscriptions, you can also tell me, for a fee.”

”Okay, Professor Feng!”

Afterward, there was nothing else to do, so they began to pack up and arrange the follow-up work.

In a blink of an eye, it was around five in the afternoon.

The laboratory team brought over a dozen students and twenty members of the guardian squad. This group was to be rotated.

They arrived in three cars and left in five.

Especially one troop carrier equipped with a powerful lightning weapon.

Professor Feng looked at the lightning launcher and two machine guns equipped on this troop carrier and said proudly, ”This lightning launcher can simultaneously release more than ten lightning bolts, confronting multiple level-fifteen targets. Its power is immense!”

”You certainly don’t have to worry about safety.”

His words were mainly to appease Bai Yu’s previous concern - ’the recent matter of the so-called blood clan modifiers.’

Upon hearing this, Bai Yu showed an excited expression, as if safety was guaranteed.

In his heart, it was naturally not that simple.

The convoy quickly appeared and drove into the mountains.

It was only three kilometers from the Nine Serpent Bend National Highway mentioned in the intelligence, just a few minutes away.

Bai Yu’s heart instantly tightened.

He had also sent a message to his team leader before departing.

’I just hope Director Yang is fully prepared!’

But soon after entering the Nine Serpent Bend National Highway, the vehicles stopped.

The two professors sharing a car with Bai Yu frowned. They just asked over the walkie-talkie, ”What’s wrong?”

”Professor Feng, according to drone detection, there are several huge boulders blocking the road at the seventh bend ahead. The situation is not serious and can be handled in time.”

Of course, as the guardian squad captain, he would naturally also consider that the mudslide might be man-made, so he instructed, ”Please remain in the vehicle, Professor, to ensure your safety.”

Hearing this, Professor Feng’s expression was somewhat serious: ”Okay!”

Bai Yu also looked at him, and their expressions met.

Professor Feng turned his head and looked at Professor Professor Wang Wen, smiling, ”Old Wang, you really are a jinx, something like this happens as soon as you arrive.”

”Hey~! It’s because you’re staying in this desolate wilderness. Otherwise, I definitely wouldn’t come to this rotten place.”

The two bickered for a while.

Suddenly, there seemed to be a commotion outside, a ’crashing’ sound.

The walkie-talkie also immediately sounded: ”Attention all units! Attention all units! There is suspected heavy landslide activity in this area, all units immediately evacuate the Nine Serpent Bend National Highway!”

Sure enough, a large number of boulders mixed with red earth slid down, blocking the road.

Bai Yu frowned when he saw this scene.

Damn it!

You’ve prepared so many people, and you’re still playing this trick!?

If it really is a large-scale landslide, that would be troublesome.

The power of nature is still extremely terrifying.

The car drove for a while and then stopped again.

Looking closely, the road they came from was also blocked.

This clearly wasn’t right!

Lightning even rose in Professor Feng’s hand, and he said to Professor Professor Wang Wen, ”Old Wang, if we encounter danger, remember to stay close to me.”

Professor Professor Wang Wen was not a combat-oriented person, and in this situation, he didn’t bicker.

Suddenly, roars came from outside. Through the glass, they could see blood monsters rushing down the slope above!

”Roar~!”

Bai Yu’s brow furrowed. He had so many good items in his hand, he certainly couldn’t sit idly in the car and wait for death.

He pulled the car door, wanting to get out, but it was sealed.

Professor Feng couldn’t help but ask, ”What are you doing?”

”I am a combatant.”

Seeing this, Professor Feng hesitated.

Professor Professor Wang Wen then said to the driver, ”Open this car door.”

After speaking, he also admonished Bai Yu, ”Although you talk tough, the enemies targeting us are definitely not ordinary. Be careful! I don’t want to see a white-haired person send off a black-haired person.”

”Don’t worry!”

The reason Professor Professor Wang Wen let Bai Yu go out was because Bai Yu had mentioned to him that afternoon that he had a secret mission.

Originally, he didn’t believe it, but now it seemed it was true!
