Reborn As a Snake, I Can Absorb Fear

Chapter 92 The ocean has become a forbidden zone for humankind!Regarding Major General Zhang Jianhui’s request for a nuclear strike, several high-ranking officials of the Dragon Kingdom immediately organized an online meeting to discuss it.

The Dragon Kingdom Marshal: ”I do not approve of a nuclear strike. Major General Zhang Jianhui and his group of soldiers cannot die by our hands.”

The Dragon Kingdom Deputy Head of State: ”I also agree to reject the application.”

Director Xia Weiguo: ”Leaders, Major General Zhang Jianhui and his men can no longer escape. Even if we do not use a nuclear strike, they will still end up in the giant beast’s mouth.”

The Dragon Kingdom Marshal: ”How do you know they cannot escape if we haven’t tried?”

Director Xia Weiguo: ”If there were hope, Major General Zhang Jianhui and his men would not have chosen to perish with the giant beast. They could have perfectly well waited until they escaped before requesting a nuclear strike. I believe we should seize this opportunity to kill the giant beast; otherwise, once it reaches the shore, it will be a tremendous disaster. We also cannot let Major General Zhang Jianhui and his men sacrifice themselves in vain.”

Elder Long: ”Director Xia, from now on, you have full authority over incidents related to giant beasts and the mysterious. We are old; I hope you will not fail the people’s expectations.”

Director Xia Weiguo: ”Understood, Elder Long. I will definitely protect the Dragon Kingdom.”

After ending the meeting, Director Xia Weiguo immediately ordered a nuclear strike on the giant beast.

At a nuclear base on the outskirts of the Dragon Kingdom’s capital, as the nuclear button command arrived, the launch silo burst open. The solid fuel ignited instantly, and the metal behemoth carrying the nuclear warhead soared into the sky amidst a deafening roar.

In just a short moment, the warhead broke through the clouds and entered space, flying at over twenty times the speed of sound. It traveled a thousand kilometers in just over a minute before descending toward its target.

This was a nuclear bomb with a yield of one million tons of TNT, capable of destroying an area of over ten kilometers in radius, easily obliterating a city, with radiation damage covering a hundred kilometers.

On the ocean surface, the fleet led by Major General Zhang Jianhui was reduced to fewer than ten ships. The rest had been swallowed by the giant beast. Thousands of soldiers were buried in the giant beast’s belly.

Major General Zhang Jianhui stared fixedly at the giant beast with eyes full of hatred. The giant beast could create waves to trap them, and Major General Zhang Jianhui could only watch as one warship after another was swallowed by the giant beast.

At a certain moment, a streak of fiery red appeared in the sky. Major General Zhang Jianhui’s gaze suddenly became intense. It had arrived—the thing capable of destroying the giant beast before them.

Major General Zhang Jianhui drew his sword and stepped out of the command cabin. ”Brothers, are you afraid of death?”

On the deck, a group of soldiers looked solemn and dignified. ”We are not.”

”Good. Then let this beast before us die with us.” Major General Zhang Jianhui raised his Deep Blue Sword high, looking up at the approaching firelight.

”Die!” ”Die!” The soldiers shouted in unison.

Below, the thousand-meter giant beast seemed to sense the threat from the sky and instinctively sank into the sea.

Boom! A massive explosion erupted. In that instant, a second sun burst forth on the ocean surface. A ghastly white light swallowed everything around it, vaporizing millions of tons of seawater, including the fleet of Major General Zhang Jianhui and his men.

A shockwave kicked up a ring-shaped wall of water higher than a mountain, surging outward while carrying deadly radiation and superheated steam. After a long while, the mushroom cloud, symbolizing absolute destruction, slowly rose above the boiling ocean surface.

At the Dragon Kingdom satellite monitoring center, Director Xia Weiguo stared fixedly at the screen.

”Warning, warning. Life signs detected at the center of the explosion. It is presumed that this creature is the target creature.”

”What?” Director Xia Weiguo collapsed to the floor. In that instant, it felt as if his soul had been drained, leaving his mind completely blank.

”How is it possible that it survived? That was a one-million-ton yield! It should have been enough to destroy a city.” Director Xia Weiguo muttered to himself, struggling to accept the truth.

On the other side of the ocean, the USA fleet also suffered an attack from a thousand-meter giant beast. Just like the Dragon Kingdom, they employed a nuclear strike against the giant beast, but the result was the same—it failed, and the giant beast survived.

At this moment, all nations on Blue Star fell silent. If even humanity’s ultimate weapon could not deal with the giant beast, what else could possibly stop it?

The ocean has become a forbidden zone for humanity! This was the first thought that crossed the minds of high-ranking officials in all Blue Star nations at this moment.

The ocean had become the giant beast’s territory; humanity’s ruling status on Blue Star was shaken, and the ocean was no longer under human control.

The Dragon Kingdom issued a ban on all maritime activities nationwide immediately. Countless coastal residents were in an uproar, protesting strongly. Unfortunately, the Dragon Kingdom authorities remained resolute.

It was not until the incident of the giant beast in the sea erupted on the internet that everyone realized the ocean was no longer safe. Coastal industries suffered a fatal blow. Many people in coastal cities began to seek development in the inland areas.

All coastal nations on Blue Star began to fear for their own survival, and the world fell into a scene of impending doomsday. Only some inland countries remained in a stable state, having not been overly affected.

In Kobe City, Sakura Country, Su Ling, who had just gotten off the plane, received a call from Director Xia Weiguo.

”Su Ling, the plan is canceled. You should come back first! You cannot bring the Big White Snake back anymore.” Director Xia Weiguo’s voice carried a hint of exhaustion.

Su Ling frowned and asked: ”What is it, Director? Did something happen?”

Then, Director Xia Weiguo told Su Ling everything that had happened. Su Ling remained silent for a long time.

The ocean was no longer safe, so Xiaobai could not cross the sea to return to the country? The sudden, drastic change was hard for Su Ling to accept; it was impossible for her to abandon Xiaobai and go back.

”Director, I will bring Xiaobai back.” After Su Ling said this, she hung up the phone directly. Even as Director Xia Weiguo continued to call, she did not answer again.

Her gaze was firm; in this world, only Xiaobai was her only family left.

Jiang Feng had been rampaging through the city for a long time. He had already roamed through more than half of the city, destroying hundreds of buildings.

The city had already fallen into a semi-paralyzed state. In another half day, those hiding at home might face a shortage of supplies. But what did that have to do with Jiang Feng?

Sympathizing with humans should be very out of place for a snake, right? Especially sympathizing with the little devils. Jiang Feng had been striving to be a snake, not trying to be a human.

Jiang Feng’s current fear points had reached 500,000, breaking his historical record once again. This was all the harvest from his wanton destruction of the city.

Therefore, a snake’s survival needs were inherently in conflict with human life. Unless the snake did not want to evolve, if it wanted to progress, it could only be an enemy to humanity.

Unknowingly, Jiang Feng arrived at a fresh food market. There were all kinds of seafood products here. Jiang Feng’s snake eyes suddenly lit up; he hadn’t eaten seafood for several days.

The people in the seafood market had all fled before the Big White Snake arrived. No one dared to approach this ferocious, crazed Big White Snake, because many who tried to get close to the Big White Snake had been ruthlessly crushed to death.

The seafood stall owners were praying that the Big White Snake was just passing by. But if prayers were useful, what would be the point of working hard? Therefore, Jiang Feng stopped and did not leave, going against their wishes.
