Reborn As a Snake, I Can Absorb Fear

Chapter 64 Hide and SeekYamamoto Ichiro was planning to leave quietly and hide as well.

Just then, he suddenly heard someone calling him, even asking him to deal with the monster.

Yamamoto Ichiro turned back and forced a smile. ”Everyone, why don’t we just hide instead?”

”Hide? Hide from what? Mr. Yamamoto, you aren’t scared, are you? Do you really think you can escape just by hiding?”

”Exactly! Instead of hiding and being killed one by one by the monster, it’s better to unite and take it down.”

”That’s right, take down the monster.”

”Manager, I think they’re right,” The Hotel’s Security Captain added, trying to persuade him.

Yamamoto Ichiro pondered for a moment, seemingly moved by the others’ words, and finally nodded. ”Alright.”

”Everyone, the game begins.” Right then, the monster on the television finished speaking and vanished.

”Huh, where’s the monster?” someone asked.

”Everyone, be careful, the monster might have come out,” Yamamoto Ichiro shouted.

The crowd immediately fell into a commotion. ”Where is it?”

”Everyone, gather together quickly.”

”Yes, let’s huddle back-to-back.”

”But we don’t have any weapons!” After huddling together, some of those with empty hands couldn’t help but worry.

Without weapons, how could they deal with the monster?

”Yamamoto-kun, your security guards have weapons. Quickly, protect us in the center.”

”There are too many people, we can’t protect everyone!” Yamamoto Ichiro somewhat regretted staying behind.

”Hehehe, found you.” Suddenly, a familiar voice rang in everyone’s ears.

The Chainsaw Ghost had appeared in the middle of the crowd at some unknown point. He raised his saw and sliced down toward a person nearby.

”Ah! Get out of the way!” The person next to him was scared out of their wits.

”Jiro, get out of the way!” In front of the Chainsaw Ghost, a man stood frozen in place, his pupils dilating rapidly as he watched the chainsaw cut down toward his head.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to hide, but that he couldn’t move at all.

The Chainsaw Ghost seemed to have some mysterious ability to freeze him in place.

Vroom! Vroom!

Splat!

A tooth-gritting sound of a chainsaw cutting through flesh and bone rang out.

”Ah!” The person being sawed let out a shrill scream.

In an instant, flesh and blood flew everywhere; the scene was horrifying to the extreme.

Seeing such a scene, everyone fled in terror. Not a single person dared to step forward to face the Chainsaw Ghost.

The so-called alliance from before was nothing more than a joke.

”Yamamoto-kun, what should we do?” The Security Captain fled along with Yamamoto Ichiro.

”What do you mean ’what should we do’? Don’t tell me you still want to deal with that Chainsaw Ghost?” Yamamoto Ichiro glared at the Security Captain.

The Security Captain lowered his head in shame; he didn’t have the courage to face that Chainsaw Ghost.

Yamamoto Ichiro frowned as he looked at the dozens of people fleeing with him. Many had subconsciously followed him as they ran.

Therefore, their direction of escape had the most people.

This was very likely to attract the Chainsaw Ghost’s pursuit.

”Everyone, we should split up! That Chainsaw Ghost is elusive. Being in a large group will only attract his attention.”

”Yamamoto-kun, you have to save us! You can’t abandon us!” Seeing that Yamamoto Ichiro wanted to split up, the others immediately became unhappy. Wasn’t this just abandoning them?

”You guys...?” Yamamoto Ichiro was somewhat speechless. He really shouldn’t have bothered with these people in the first place.

”Hehehe, found another one.”

The Chainsaw Ghost’s voice suddenly rang in everyone’s ears again.

”Ah!” A cowardly person subconsciously let out a scream.

Yamamoto Ichiro looked left and right but didn’t see the Chainsaw Ghost’s figure.

He secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

The others also quickly realized they hadn’t seen the Chainsaw Ghost.

”What’s going on? Where’s the Chainsaw Ghost?” someone questioned.

”He must have gone somewhere else. If my guess is correct, every time the Chainsaw Ghost finds someone, all of us can hear his voice.”

Yamamoto Ichiro analyzed in a heavy voice.

This also explained why the Chainsaw Ghost’s voice sounded like it was right next to their ears every time.

In the darkness, Jiang Feng couldn’t help but nod in approval. That meddlesome manager was actually quite clever.

He had deliberately broadcast the Chainsaw Ghost’s voice into everyone’s ears just to collect fear points.

In reality, within the Evil Snake Domain, the entire Hotel held no secrets from Jiang Feng.

He knew exactly where everyone was hiding.

And the Chainsaw Ghost was a ghost he had manifested using his spirit. This ghost possessed a freezing ability; as long as someone was discovered by him, they would be unable to move and could only be sawed to death by his chainsaw.

The game was still ongoing.

Yamamoto Ichiro led the group up the stairs. In this situation, he didn’t dare to—and wouldn’t—take the elevator.

An elevator was a confined space. If they encountered the Chainsaw Ghost, there would be nowhere to run.

Some time had passed, and Yamamoto Ichiro and his group had reached the third floor.

The Chainsaw Ghost hadn’t made a sound again.

”Why hasn’t that Chainsaw Ghost spoken again?” someone asked curiously.

”Shut up, don’t make a sound,” Yamamoto Ichiro barked in a low voice.

”Hehehe, found you.” The voice, like a demon claiming a soul, rang in everyone’s ears again.

The curious person from before looked into the crowd and didn’t see the Chainsaw Ghost.

A sense of overconfidence inevitably arose in his heart. ”The Chainsaw Ghost isn’t here, everyone relax.”

But when the others looked at him, their faces instantly filled with terror, and they scrambled away.

Seeing everyone’s reaction, the curious person already had a bad premonition. He wanted to turn around and run.

But he found that he couldn’t move.

Vroom vroom vroom!

The sound of a chainsaw suddenly roared.

”Aaaaah!”

Before he died, Curious Guy finally understood why that person in the lobby hadn’t run.

With Curious Guy killed, Yamamoto Ichiro’s group had already scattered.

Some were shivering in the hallways, while others quietly opened doors and hid inside rooms.

No one dared to even breathe loudly.

Who knew exactly how the Chainsaw Ghost was finding people?

Yamamoto Ichiro, the Security Captain, and five others—seven people in total—hid in a room.

They locked the door tightly.

”The Chainsaw Ghost shouldn’t be able to come in, right?” the Security Captain said tremulously. It sounded like a question, but he was actually trying to comfort himself.

Yamamoto Ichiro didn’t speak. Both times the Chainsaw Ghost had appeared before them, it was without any warning.

Could a single door really block the Chainsaw Ghost?

”Hehehe, found you!” The Chainsaw Ghost’s voice rang in their ears once more.

Everyone’s hearts tightened instinctively.
