Chapter 52 The Plan FailsThe new train was filled with new passengers, who screamed and scrambled inside the carriage.

Those who couldn’t escape covered their eyes like ostriches, and only the bold ones could face the Big White Snake with composure.

Jiang Feng had gotten off from the rear of the previous train, so when he boarded this one, he started at the front.

Crawling all the way from the front to the back, his fear points shot up rapidly.

”This is so satisfying!”

”This is the correct way to farm fear points.”

The carriage is a confined space; those who are afraid have no choice but to face the giant snake directly.

If they see the snake outside, those who are afraid will stay far away. As long as they keep a distance, they won’t generate fear points.

Therefore, even though many people saw him while he was outside, the fear points he harvested were not many.

Ten minutes later, the train returned to the station where Jiang Feng had originally entered.

Jiang Feng repeated his old trick; after getting off on this side, he crawled to the other side to board again.

Li Anbang, the director of the Su City Public Security Bureau, was so furious when he learned the news that the Big White Snake had changed trains again that he wanted to curse out loud.

He had spoken with Battalion Commander Wu over the phone ten minutes ago, explaining the giant snake’s whereabouts.

As it turned out, the giant snake suddenly turned back, and he had no choice but to call Battalion Commander Wu again to explain the new direction.

But how long had it been since he hung up the phone?

The giant snake changed direction again.

Li Anbang decided not to call Battalion Commander Wu for the time being; if he called and the giant snake changed direction again, he figured he would be shot by the furious Battalion Commander Wu.

Battalion Commander Wu would definitely think he was being toyed with.

”Better wait a bit! It’s possible that this snake is just wandering between those two stations.”

Li Anbang comforted himself this way.

In fact, it was just as Li Anbang had expected; the giant snake really did turn around again.

Li Anbang felt relieved; he had figured out the giant snake’s habits.

He guessed that perhaps the giant snake was trapped inside and didn’t know how to get out.

”Hmph, this giant snake is really quite stupid, walking right into a trap.”

Li Anbang picked up the phone and told Battalion Commander Wu his speculation.

On his end, Battalion Commander Wu immediately formulated a capture plan based on the information provided by Li Anbang.

Time passed.

Jiang Feng didn’t know how many times he had gone back and forth; he only knew that his fear points had exceeded 150,000.

However, the fear points he harvested from each train ride were not as good as before. Previously, he could harvest tens of thousands in one trip, but now, it was difficult to even get ten thousand.

Perhaps because the news had spread, many people likely heard about the Big White Snake inside and were unwilling to come in to take the subway.

Or perhaps the morning rush hour had passed, and the passenger flow at the subway station had noticeably decreased.

Moreover, some people on the train had become accustomed to Jiang Feng, the giant snake.

Multiple factors combined meant that the fear points Jiang Feng obtained became less and less.

The train stopped again, but this time Jiang Feng did not plan to get off.

Because he saw that there were almost no people waiting at the station. There was no point in continuing to transfer; these two stations had been squeezed dry by him.

Staying here any longer would have little effect; it was better to change locations.

Furthermore, it was possible that the Military had already arrived outside the subway station and had restricted people from entering.

The more Jiang Feng thought about it, the more he felt his guess was likely correct.

Outside Qiming Plaza Station, the four subway exits had been completely taken over by soldiers.

Everyone was prohibited from entering.

Battalion Commander Wu was issuing orders with a walkie-talkie next to an armored vehicle.

”Attention all companies, the Big White Snake is about to return to Qiming Plaza Station from Su Family Manor Station. At that time, the train will stop running, ...”

Just as he was speaking, a guard suddenly came to report.

”Battalion Commander Wu, there is an urgent call.”

Battalion Commander Wu took the phone, his expression changing, ”What? The Big White Snake didn’t return?”

Hanging up the phone, Battalion Commander Wu was so angry that he kicked the tire of the armored vehicle next to him, ”Damn it.”

Originally, the order he received from his superiors was to enter the city to capture the snake, doing so without harming the civilians.

The Military entering the city to capture a snake was an unprecedented event, something that only appeared in television plots.

Yet he had encountered it, and deep down, he didn’t take this snake seriously.

Therefore, he did not adopt the opinion from above to find a place to ambush it, and then find a way to lure the snake over.

He felt that capturing the snake that way was too inefficient and underestimated the Military’s combat capabilities.

If he really captured the snake that way, he couldn’t afford to lose face.

After learning of Li Anbang’s analysis of the snake’s behavior, Battalion Commander Wu felt that it was entirely possible to charge into the subway to capture the snake.

As long as they slowly evacuated the passengers first, they could take action.

And the next train coming from Su Family Manor Station to Qiming Plaza Station would be an empty train. As long as the snake got on the train, once it reached Qiming Plaza Station, the train would stop.

His soldiers could easily capture the snake inside the train.

But now, the operation had been aborted before it even began.

Because the snake had run away; the snake did not return along the original path as speculated.

”Li Anbang has ruined me.”

Battalion Commander Wu cursed Li Anbang dozens of times in his heart.

On Li Anbang’s side, he also received news that the snake’s behavior exceeded expectations.

He wiped away cold sweat.

”Damn, has this snake become a spirit?”

”Why did it choose this moment not to return?”

Even if the snake had returned just one more time, Battalion Commander Wu would have immediately launched the capture.

”What a pity!”

Now, wanting to deal with the snake again had undoubtedly increased the difficulty, because there were still many passengers with the snake in the carriage.

They could not judge the snake’s next move and simply could not make arrangements in advance.

If they made all passengers get off at the next station, the Big White Snake might also follow and get off.

”Achoo!”

Li Anbang suddenly sneezed.

”Damn it, what on earth should I do? Battalion Commander Wu must be cursing me.”

...

Jiang Feng followed the train to the next station. This was a new station, and the platform was still empty.

Some people in the carriage got off, and no one got on; the number of people in the carriage became fewer and fewer.

Jiang Feng narrowed his eyes slightly.

”Are they clearing out the passengers in the carriage?”

”But why not just issue an announcement for everyone to get off?”

”Could it be that they are afraid I will follow and get off too?”

”Good, good, good. As expected of a bunch of cunning people, actually playing mind games with a snake.”

”I want to see what tricks these people want to play.”

Carrying 150,000 fear points, Jiang Feng was not panicked at all.

If his Physique were to double again, he believed that even artillery shells would find it hard to hurt him.

He only needed to consume 10,000 fear points to double his Physique.

But it might trigger molting, although even if he molted, he would not fear it.

He was not unable to move while molting, and his molting was different from normal snakes; there was no period of weakness.

Jiang Feng did not get off and followed the train to the next station.

The platform at this station was also empty, and almost all the passengers in the carriage realized that something was wrong.

They were already a bit afraid to coexist with a snake, and now that there was an abnormal situation on the platform, no one wanted to stay in the train anymore.

The remaining three hundred people in the carriage almost all got off.

Jiang Feng saw that the carriage was empty, with only a few stubborn people who didn’t follow the beaten path remaining inside.
