Doupo: Rebirth of Gu He, Starting with a Strategy to Win Over Yun Yun

Chapter 22 Little Fairy Doctor’s Confession and FarewellChapter 22: Xiao Yi Xian’s Confession and Farewell (Please keep reading~)

”Shua shua shua—”

A few more days passed. On this rainy day, even the air became damp.

Xiao Yi Xian personally cooked and prepared a table of breakfast items in various shapes.

Then, she skipped over to call Gu He for breakfast.

”Teacher~ Time to get up~”

”Ah!”

...

Gu He followed Xiao Yi Xian to the dining table. Just as he was about to pick up a relatively normal-looking pastry to taste, Xiao Yi Xian reached out her small hand to stop him.

”Hmm? What’s wrong?”

Xiao Yi Xian held up a bowl of soup and said stutteringly, ”These breakfast items are all my first attempts... they might not taste good. I’d rather you try this bowl of mushroom soup.”

”I think it will taste a bit better because I’ve boiled it before when I was hungry while gathering herbs, so I have experience...”

Gu He smiled easily and ate the rabbit-shaped pastry in his hand in one bite.

A honey-like sweetness flooded his mouth as he said,

”It’s delicious!” He then took the mushroom soup from Xiao Yi Xian and drank it all.

Wild mushrooms paired with fresh carrots; the soup was pure white upon entry and very smooth as it went down his throat.

Extremely delicious!

”The soup is also super tasty!” Gu He gave Xiao Yi Xian’s head a firm rub.

This time, however, Xiao Yi Xian didn’t let him rub it. She lifted Gu He’s large hand and firmly forced it down.

”What’s wrong?” Gu He asked, puzzled.

Xiao Yi Xian huffed, ”Teacher, you always treat me like a child!”

Gu He was helpless. ”In my eyes, you are a child.” Seeing Xiao Yi Xian glaring at him with her almond eyes, he added,

”At most, you can be considered my, Gu He’s, younger sister...”

Xiao Yi Xian huffed again.

”Mwah~”

Following the sound was a warm, soft touch that pressed against Gu He’s cheek for a split second before quickly pulling away.

Gu He was stunned for a moment, then saw Xiao Yi Xian’s face, which was as red as rouge.

She skipped away from Gu He’s arm, her blushing face filled with nervousness, and her eyes shimmering with moisture as she looked at Gu He.

”Heh~”

Gu He let out a low chuckle.

”I... I accidentally touched you! I’m sorry! Teacher!”

Xiao Yi Xian’s voice trembled with nervousness, making it incredibly moving.

Gu He didn’t say anything. Instead, he took another rabbit-shaped pastry from the plate on the table and personally fed it to Xiao Yi Xian’s mouth.

”Try it? Master Chef.”

Seeing that Gu He didn’t say anything and didn’t reject her, Xiao Yi Xian obediently opened her mouth.

”Nom~”

She took a bite.

It was sweet, a bit cloying, but because it was fed by the person in front of her, Xiao Yi Xian felt it was super delicious!

...

Breakfast was finished.

Gu He looked toward the door.

The rain was still falling, droplets splashing onto the sycamore leaves and sliding down like threads.

”Xiao Yi Xian...”

”Hmm? Teacher?” Xiao Yi Xian replied with a charming smile.

Gu He felt a bit reluctant, but he still said, ”I need to leave for a while to look for a Heavenly Flame outside.”

Xiao Yi Xian’s eyes dimmed for a moment, then she forced herself to cheer up.

”Has Teacher found the location of the Heavenly Flame?”

In her heart, Gu He was akin to a grand deity.

So she felt that Gu He must have found the location of the Heavenly Flame before deciding to go.

As for why he was akin to a deity? Because deities were devoid of emotion and desire, whereas she hoped Gu He... had emotion and desire.

Hearing Xiao Yi Xian’s certain-sounding voice, Gu He naturally pulled her into his arms and patted her back, saying,

”Yes, it’s likely in the Tagor Desert.”

If nothing unexpected happened, Queen Medusa, whose beauty and ferocity were equally renowned, had already snatched the Green Lotus Flame from deep underground.

And he needed to go there and take it.

Xiao Yi Xian burrowed deeper into Gu He’s embrace and remained silent for a long while.

Ever since Gu He suddenly wanted to return to the Cloud Mist Sect, she knew that Gu He was not just her teacher, but also Pill King Gu He.

He was obsessed with Alchemy and had the dream of pursuing Heavenly Flames.

But Xiao Yi Xian felt that such a Gu He was more flesh and blood, even if he couldn’t accompany her every day.

After a moment of silence, she spoke coquettishly,

”Then Teacher, come back quickly and safely. I will pass the exam for a Second-Grade Alchemist and wait for you to come home!”

Gu He leaned down, his chin touching her snow-white forehead.

”Alright, I promise you.”

...

Gu He did not set out for the Tagor Desert immediately. Instead, he first prepared the Materials for subduing the Heavenly Flame.

Logically speaking, he had the System; he could just press his hand against it like he did when absorbing the accompanying purple crystal source.

But who could press their bare hand against an ownerless Heavenly Flame?

Did they want to turn into black ash and scatter?

Ultimately, he had to rely on himself.

Absorbing a Heavenly Flame required a Blood Lotus Pill refined from Blood Lotus Crystal, ice spirit flame grass, and a Tier 4 ice-attribute magic core.

There was also ice spirit cold spring and Spirit Storage.

For the latter two, he went to his brother Gu Te’s place to ”borrow” them. As for the Spirit Storage, although it was a very scarce material for making high-grade storage rings, Gu He had several.

After all, being the pill king wasn’t for nothing; Dou Ling and Dou Wang experts had begged him for Alchemy and given many treasures in exchange.

The Blood Lotus Pill was a Fifth-Rank Medicinal Pill, which he could refine at will. He had already intercepted and bought the Blood Lotus Crystal in the Magical Beast Mountain Range; he just needed to go to an auction to collect the remaining two items.

...

Imperial Capital, Mittel Auction House.

Gu He did not choose to keep a low profile. Instead, he openly donned his Sixth-Rank Alchemist robes.

His handsome, mature face appeared even more mysterious under the black robe.

When the servant at the special passage saw Gu He’s attire, he hurriedly and respectfully came forward to greet him.

”Is... is it Great Master Gu He?”

Pill King Gu He of the Jia Ma Empire was known by everyone in the Empire.

Gu He nodded without speaking.

The servant hurriedly led Gu He into a VIP box on the third floor.

A short while later.

”Squeak—”

The heavy door was opened.

”For the pill king to grace our Mittel Auction House with his presence, Ya Fei truly feels it is a great honor~”

A sultry, numbing voice that could almost make one’s bones go soft drifted over.

Gu He frowned and looked toward the door, feeling somewhat uncomfortable.

Ya Fei walked over.

She wore a tight red qipao that accentuated her exquisite and full curves, revealing a pair of long, fair legs as she moved.

Her makeup was brilliant, and her slightly elongated eyeliner paired with her seductive gaze made her look like an enchantress.

With a hint of reserved, flattering smile, she came to a halt in front of Gu He.

Gu He glanced at her and noticed she still hadn’t moved, feeling a bit puzzled.

Did she want my permission before sitting down?

Gu He nodded casually. ”Sit.”

Ya Fei slowly sat down, her smiling face filled with charm. ”I presume the pill king doesn’t know me. I am the chief auctioneer of the auction house, Ya Fei. I have long admired Your Excellency’s great name.”

”Last time Your Excellency came to our auction house to buy a storage ring, unfortunately, I wasn’t here. Otherwise, I would have definitely received you personally~”

She lifted her nimble hands and brewed a cup of Dragon Well tea for Gu He.

”Does Your Excellency need to auction Medicinal Pills, or are you looking to purchase something?”

Gu He didn’t drink the tea and spoke directly.

”I want to buy two things: ice spirit flame grass and a Tier 4 ice-attribute magic core.”

”I presume this shouldn’t be difficult for the Mittel Auction House, right?”
