Doupo: Rebirth of Gu He, Starting with a Strategy to Win Over Yun Yun

Chapter 20: First Warmth with Yunyun Under the Peach TreeAtop the Cloud Mist Sect, clouds and mist swirl, embraced by green mountains.

The ancient attic resembles an Immortal riding a crane through the clouds, hidden deep within the mountains.

And atop this attic stood a woman dressed in white.

Her willow-like brows were slightly furrowed as she gazed into the distance, carrying a hint of longing and melancholy.

”Gu He... why hasn’t he returned yet...”

Just then, a maidservant reported,

”Sect Master, Elder Gu He has returned and is currently in the guest hall!”

Yun Yun’s face lit up with joy, the delight in her snowy eyes nearly overflowing. She hurriedly circulated her Dou Qi, heading to the hall at her fastest speed ever.

...

Outside the hall, Yun Yun adjusted her Phoenix hair crown and smoothed her dress before stepping inside.

Inside the hall.

She saw the familiar black-robed figure she had been thinking of day and night; her eyes reddened for a moment, but she quickly masked it.

”Yun Yun, I’m back...” Gu He said with a smile.

Yun Yun wanted to rush forward and embrace him, but she restrained herself with poise and nodded calmly.

”Nothing happened to you in Qingshan Town, did it?” she asked with concern.

Gu He arched an eyebrow and said quite seriously, ”I took on a little Disciple in Qingshan Town.”

”Her talent is quite good, even surpassing Liu Ling’s.”

Liu Ling was Gu He’s Personal Disciple, exceptionally talented, yet the Disciple Gu He took in Qingshan Town was even more gifted...

Yun Yun didn’t think too deeply on it, but her red lips spoke impulsively,

”Is the Disciple you took male or female?”

Gu He was stunned. ”Hmm?”

Yun Yun already regretted it and wanted to take back the words she had blurted out.

”It’s nothing...” A flush of shame like rosy clouds appeared on her snowy-white cheeks, and her gaze drifted elsewhere.

Gu He, as if only just realizing, explained, ”It’s a female Disciple.”

Yun Yun’s heart skipped a beat. ”A female Disciple...?”

”Then, is she beautiful?”

When Yun Yun asked this, she practically wanted to slap her own mouth.

She felt that in front of Gu He, she was acting less and less like a Sect Master and more like a young girl in love.

But... she was still the Sect Master after all.

Yun Yun pursed her lips and said before Gu He could reply,

”It’s nothing... Gu He, you don’t need to answer me.”

Seeing Yun Yun suddenly distance herself with such formality, Gu He smiled. He said nothing but raised his hand, taking out a jar of fine Nu’er Hong from his storage ring.

He said, ”Yun Yun, we’ve been through so much together. Now that I’ve just returned... can you accompany me for a welcome-back drink?”

In an instant, Yun Yun recalled the fragments of their time in the cave within the Magical Beast Mountain Range.

He had fought side-by-side with her; he had refined medicine to heal her wounds.

The blue armor pierced by the Amethyst Winged Lion King was still in her room; she could even clearly remember Gu He’s gentle movements as he carefully removed the armor for her.

Gu He... during these days, Yun Yun didn’t know how many times she had silently repeated this name in her heart.

Thinking of this, Yun Yun smiled tenderly,

”Alright.”

She ultimately couldn’t resist Gu He’s request.

After all, when those deep eyes looked at her, it felt as if they could crush the stars.

...

The back mountain.

The entire mountain range was covered in greenery, as if draped in an emerald cloak.

Trees sprouted tender buds, and the grass was carpeted in fresh green. Beneath a century-old peach tree,

Yun Yun and Gu He were drinking together.

Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves and peach blossoms, casting dappled light and shadows.

Yun Yun was already somewhat tipsy. Watching the falling peach blossom petals, she licked her vermilion lips,

”Gu He, it’s really beautiful.”

Yun Yun wanted to say the peach blossoms were beautiful, but she was a bit drunk and muddled, so she omitted the subject.

Gu He took a sip of wine, his expression extremely serious. ”It is indeed beautiful.”

But he wasn’t staring at the peach blossoms; he was staring at Yun Yun’s face.

It took Yun Yun several seconds to realize that Gu He was complimenting her.

”...”

Yun Yun felt that she was truly drunk.

Being praised by Gu He, she actually wanted to find a hole to hide in.

She should be calmly circulating her Dou Qi to dissolve the alcohol, rather than allowing herself to be so intoxicated.

But knowing is one thing, and doing is another.

She... didn’t seem to want to remain calm and restrained anymore!

So what if she was the Sect Master? So what if she was a Dou Huang? If she couldn’t be with the person she loved...

Yun Yun remembered the discourse on freedom that Gu He had given to Nalan Su.

He said that those things shouldn’t become her shackles.

He said that a person should be a free individual.

Yun Yun projected herself into those words, and after a moment, she made up her mind.

”Gu He...”

”I’m here.”

Taking advantage of her tipsiness, Yun Yun leaned her jade-like body against Gu He’s side.

Gu He embraced the warm and fragrant jade, looking at Yun Yun.

She looked somewhat dazed with intoxication, completely devoid of her usual Sect Master’s air or the dangerous aura she had during battle.

The faint blush on her cheeks in this ambiguous atmosphere was even more charming and seductive.

Before long.

A barrier unique to a Dou Huang was erected around them, blocking the outside world from seeing what was happening inside.

Clang—

The magnificent and elegant Phoenix hair crown fell to the ground, making a sound.

Robes were slowly shed.

...

Gu He lightly kissed Yun Yun’s dark brows, filled with affection for her.

Yun Yun was tired, but he refused to be.

He licked away the salty tears from the corners of Yun Yun’s eyes. ”Don’t cry, Yun Yun.”

”I’ll try to be even gentler.”

”Mm...”

...Indescribable...

”Gu He, do you love me?” Yun Yun suddenly asked in a low voice.

Facing the fatal question that every woman asks, Gu He smiled,

”I like you.”

Yun Yun was dazed, her slender jade fingers unconsciously interlocking with Gu He’s large palm.

”It’s ’like’... not ’love’?” Yun Yun asked sensitively, listening to Gu He’s heavy heartbeat.

Gu He took her hand and kissed it, looking at Yun Yun’s suddenly flushed face with a gentle gaze.

It looked exactly like the drunken clouds hiding at the edge of the sky.

”Love is something that takes a lifetime to answer.”

”I can’t give you an answer right now, but I will put it into action and let you see my sincerity.” Gu He spoke sincerely against Yun Yun’s ear.

Looking at Gu He’s handsome face, Yun Yun didn’t say a word, she just quietly pressed against Gu He’s body, slowly savoring the warmth.

”Also, Gu He, you lied to me just now...”

”You even said you would be very gentle...” Yun Yun muttered softly.

Gu He’s voice was soft and mellow as his large hand traced the smooth contours of Yun Yun’s face. ”Usually, I wouldn’t dare to deceive the Sect Master. Now, I only dare to throw my weight around in this matter...”

Yun Yun heard a doting affection in Gu He’s tone that could practically drip with sweetness; her heart couldn’t help but flutter like a panicked deer, beating even more joyfully and rapidly.

...

The fragrance of the Nu’er Hong seemed to have melted into their very blood and bones.

...

Afterward.

The breeze was slightly cool.

Yun Yun’s body was covered by Gu He’s black clothes, which made her skin appear even more snowy white.

Yun Yun only felt that Gu He was the most robust man she had ever seen in her life.

She... was very satisfied!

Gu He held Yun Yun, with the green grass as their mat, looking at the distant sky above and the greenery that seemed within reach, and asked Yun Yun gently,

Yun Yun chided coquettishly, ”What are you saying!”

Gu He’s hand tightened around her waist as his lips kissed Yun Yun,

”You know, I am an Alchemist and the Empire’s pill king. I have countless Medicinal Pills and secret techniques...”

”Tell me, do I have...”

Yun Yun hurriedly raised a tired hand and covered Gu He’s mouth.

She,

”Gu He, you’re ruthless...”

”Whatever you say... I’ll just listen to you.”

”Only this once, do you understand?”

Gu He patted her to show he understood.

But next time, it might not be the case.
