After the Breakup, Indulgence Returned to Cash, and I Topped the Rich List

229: Chapter 229 (The End)”Furthermore, the funds have already been notarized and are under full supervision by the relevant regulatory departments of the Swiss Bank.”

As he spoke, Shen Zhou snapped his fingers.

Following this, professionals from the Swiss Bank headquarters immediately took the relevant documents onto the stage for notarization.

Seeing this scene, the entire hall instantly erupted into a frenzy.

Everyone began to gasp for air, and some even felt extremely uncomfortable as their hearts raced.

”Chairman, your heart rate is too high. You must stabilize your emotions. I suggest you go to the hospital for emergency treatment immediately!”

”No, no matter what, I cannot leave today!”

However, that chairman, despite his secretary’s persuasion, remained persistent in staying where he was.

Finally, the secretary waved his hand and gritted his teeth, saying, ”Get the private medical team to bring the relevant equipment to the venue immediately; the chairman needs oxygen right now!”

Similar situations were occurring throughout the hall.

Many founders of large infrastructure companies were already old and frail.

Therefore, in the sudden surge of excitement, more and more people began lying on chairs or hospital beds to inhale oxygen.

Meanwhile, the reporters on site were constantly clicking their shutters to record everything in the room.

Watching this era-defining scene, Mr. Sun couldn’t help but remark with emotion:

”As expected of Mr. Shen. After this, everything that happened in this hall today will surely go down in history.”

What those in the infrastructure industry feared most was that the funds they advanced would not be paid on time.

But first, Shen Zhou had already placed the funds required for this project under supervision in the name of the Swiss Bank.

This meant that once the funds entered the regulatory process, not even Shen Zhou could easily withdraw them.

Even if Shen Zhou wanted to force a withdrawal, the Swiss Bank would firmly refuse for the sake of their reputation.

”A grand gesture—this is a truly grand gesture!”

Wang Sicong and the others had their mouths wide open, the same thought surfacing in their minds simultaneously.

A hundred-billion-dollar infrastructure project was unheard of in the history of mankind.

Even the total market value of many listed companies combined did not exceed a hundred billion dollars.

Even founders of true unicorn companies could not easily cash out, as they did not hold all the shares.

Thus, the vast majority of people could not easily possess a hundred billion dollars in assets.

Looking at the incredibly excited crowd, Shen Zhou yielded the lectern to the head of the Swiss Bank headquarters.

With a serious expression, the man introduced the phased and procedural use of the funds to everyone present.

”Our Swiss Bank has strict inspection standards for engineering. Of course, to ensure our regulations adapt to China’s local conditions, we have specially hired professionals from various fields and groups.”

”After signing strict confidentiality and non-compete agreements, those experts will work with our Swiss Bank regulatory department to supervise and rationalize the use of the hundred billion dollars provided by Mr. Shen.”

The explanation from the Swiss Bank executive quickly dispelled the doubts of everyone present.

When the meeting concluded, the crowd collectively saw Shen Zhou off as he left the venue.

It was worth noting that every infrastructure company that had brought a carefully prepared project proposal received a piece of the pie in the hundred-billion-dollar infrastructure project.

Of course, whether they could actually obtain the benefits represented by that piece of the pie would require multiple reviews by the regulatory department.

After leaving the venue, Mr. Sun followed beside Shen Zhou and explained with a bitter smile:

”Mr. Shen, you’ve certainly given me a huge challenge.”

”I did this to accelerate the pace of development in China’s infrastructure sector.”

Shen Zhou explained with a chuckle.

”I understand, Mr. Shen. I will apply to the relevant higher authorities as soon as I get back.”

”I plan to formulate a special interim law to ensure through strict enforcement that every infrastructure company involved in this project remains self-disciplined, fair, and honest.”

Mr. Sun’s brow was tightly furrowed, his expression extremely solemn.

He knew all too well how much determination it took for Shen Zhou to make such a decision.

Moreover, he saw in it Shen Zhou’s sincere heart and desire to give back to China.

No matter what, he did not want Shen Zhou to lose.

Beside him, Shen Zhou only nodded slightly upon hearing this, not offering much of an opinion.

He knew very well that the reason those people inside the venue were so excited was that they saw sufficient profit in this infrastructure project.

And regardless of how much benefit they could gain from the project, as long as the Private Island Project could be successfully completed and pass inspection and acceptance,

Then Shen Zhou didn’t care at all about how much money was spent.

Because he would ultimately receive several times that in returns.

After achieving this ultimate goal, Shen Zhou would never lack funds again.

So this was a win-win situation; he had never worried about the final outcome of this matter.

After a few more brief pleasantries with Wang Sicong and the other three, Shen Zhou immediately left with Maria.

He didn’t stay in the country long, choosing instead to take Maria back to Andrei’s manor in Europe.

”Boss, will I really not be returning to Dubai for a short while?”

On the private jet, Maria asked with some confusion.

”It seems so for now.”

Shen Zhou nodded slightly, and seeing the confusion in Maria’s eyes, he explained softly.

”Wealth and interests stir people’s hearts, and the piece of cake I threw out earlier represents interests that are far too immense.”

”So whether I stay in China or Dubai, my safety cannot be 100% guaranteed.”

”That’s why I chose to go to Andrei’s manor.”

”At least Andrei will protect me wholeheartedly, and the batches of advanced weapons I bought with him before can also be put to use.”

”Besides, Russia’s national power is also not to be underestimated.”

By the end, Maria couldn’t help but ask why Shen Zhou didn’t choose to settle in China.

Shen Zhou smiled meaningfully and said, ”You’ll understand after you’ve been with me for another two years.”

Hearing this, Maria nodded, only half-understanding.

Just then, the phone rang; it was Monica calling.

After ending the call, Shen Zhou was all smiles.

”Let’s hurry, Monica is already waiting at the manor.”

”Maria, and Monica has agreed to accompany me together with you.”

Shen Zhou looked at Maria beside him with a grin.

Maria’s pretty face turned completely red.

Finally, Shen Zhou’s laughter echoed throughout the cabin of the private jet.

He stayed inside Andrei’s manor for several more years.

He waited until the entire Private Island Project was completely finished and had passed the acceptance phase before resuming his original pace of life.

The Private Island, wholly owned by Shen Zhou, truly became a gathering place for the world’s wealthy.

However, the core area centered around the world’s tallest building was always designated as a restricted zone by Shen Zhou.

There was always a small area there where only Shen Zhou and his women were allowed to enter.

The reputation of that place became increasingly mysterious as a result.

Gradually, Shen Zhou rarely appeared in the sight of ordinary people.

No matter which country’s media it was, they didn’t dare report on matters concerning Shen Zhou.

In the end, Shen Zhou’s existence even became a legend in the eyes of people around the world.

As time passed, Shen Zhou completely vanished from the public eye.

However, Zhao Pengju’s investment company, which was wholly controlled by Shen Zhou, remained hidden behind the scenes, controlling a vast number of industries worldwide through its expanding reach.

The world only knew of Zhao Pengju, but they had no idea that the controller behind him was Shen Zhou.

And Shen Zhou’s happy life continued steadily, unknown to all.
