Quick Transmigration: The Host is Forced to Love!

73: Chapter 73 The Noble Omega Young Master’s Benefactor 15At this moment, he only knew that if he didn’t do something, there would be no more chances, and he could only watch helplessly as Lu Zhan drifted further and further away from him.

He slowly reined in all his negative emotions, carrying a hint of cautious probing.

”Lu Zhan, compared to Mu Lin, what do you think of me?”

As soon as he finished speaking, Song Shu couldn’t help but feel nervous; a flush stained his fair face, and a sliver of affection leaked from his eyes.

As the words reached his ears, Lu Zhan’s handsome brows furrowed and relaxed, his expression turning cold and stern. His eyes instantly sharpened a fraction as he looked at the Song Shu before him.

”Song Shu, do you like me?”

The tone was questioning, yet it seemed as though he had already confirmed his suspicions.

Watching Lu Zhan’s reaction, Song Shu felt a growing sense of unease.

In truth, at this point, having burned his bridges for a mere glimmer of a chance, he wasn’t afraid of being rejected; he was only afraid that once Lu Zhan knew, he would avoid him, stop acknowledging him, and they wouldn’t even be able to be friends anymore.

But he wasn’t willing to be just friends for the rest of his life. Clearly, he had been the first to discover this precious gem, yet Lu Zhan had fallen for that Mu Lin, who only knew how to hurt him.

”Like? No, it should be love. I love you, Lu Zhan.”

Lu Zhan was speechless for a moment, his heart filled with mixed emotions. What was wrong with everyone, rushing to confess to him? Previously, when Mu Lin had spouted nonsense about Song Shu liking him, he had even scolded him for being overly possessive.

Now that things had reached this point, he didn’t know if it was because Song Shu was too good at hiding his feelings, or if he should blame himself for being too slow to react.

But regardless, in his heart, Song Shu and Mu Lin were ultimately different.

He could reject Mu Lin cleanly and without burden back then, but with Song Shu, he didn’t know how to speak. Looking at him was like looking at his former self.

Holding a heart full of sincerity, approaching with caution.

Watching Lu Zhan lost in thought, Song Shu quietly walked closer. Before the other man could react, he opened his arms and embraced him.

”Lu Zhan, stop thinking about Mu Lin. Look at me. I’m not any worse than him. I know everything about you, and I will only do better than him.”

Lu Zhan’s body stiffened for a moment due to the sudden embrace, then quickly relaxed. The muffled whisper fell against his ear, sounding a bit humble and pleading.

Feeling a bit helpless, he raised his hand to push the young man away, but was held even tighter.

”Song Shu, don’t be like this. I’m not worth it!”

Lu Zhan said this with a trace of sorrow in his eyes, but his hands exerted some force, pushing the person away slightly with an unquestionable posture.

”Lu Zhan, in my eyes, you are the best. And I have always known that you suffer greatly during every rut. Why are you unwilling to accept me and let me help you? Is it because I’m not good enough?”

Song Shu’s usually gentle face held a hint of sorrow, his eyes slightly red, his words full of unwillingness and a touch of despair.

Lu Zhan tried his best to soften the coldness around him, raising his hand to gently stroke the back of the other’s neck. A warm smile appeared on his face as he looked at the emotional young man with extremely serious eyes.

”Song Shu, it’s not your fault, it’s my problem. Don’t think about me anymore. You will meet an Alpha better than me. Given the current situation, it’s best if we don’t associate with each other in the future; it’s not good for you.”

Song Shu’s face turned deathly pale instantly. He had guessed this outcome; once Lu Zhan knew, they might not even be able to be friends anymore, but at this moment, he was still too heartbroken to accept it.

”Lu Zhan, I was just spouting nonsense earlier. Don’t take it seriously. Can we still be the same as before?”

Lu Zhan felt a bit of pity, but since he knew Song Shu’s feelings for him, he had to completely cut off his thoughts; otherwise, getting entangled would only end up hurting Song Shu.

He knew Mu Lin’s methods very well. No matter how humble and pitiful Mu Lin appeared before him now, he was definitely not a harmless little rabbit.

And the entanglements and grievances between him and Mu Lin, just as he had told Song Shu, seemed destined to be unbreakable, unless one of them died or lived.

From that sentence mentioned unintentionally the other day, Lu Zhan had known Mu Lin’s bottom line: no matter how he treated him, Mu Lin would obediently take it, except when it came to other Omegas.

Lu Zhan completely believed that if he agreed today, it wouldn’t be long before Song Shu completely disappeared from Magic City.

Although he didn’t have those feelings for Song Shu, the other person was still his close friend of many years, so naturally, he hoped Song Shu would be safe and sound.

”Song Shu, I’m sorry. Forget about me.”

After saying this, Lu Zhan withdrew his hand. Unable to bear looking at the young man’s sorrowful and desolate appearance, he turned around, intending to walk out.

”Lu Zhan, can you hug me one last time?”

The hoarse, trembling, and cautious words fell upon his ears, and Lu Zhan couldn’t help but soften his heart a little.

He opened his arms and gave Song Shu a generous hug. Buried in Lu Zhan’s embrace, Song Shu slowly reined in all his collapsing emotions, as if saying goodbye to his completely failed relationship.

”Lu Zhan, can I still call you in the future?”

The voice was very light and low, but Lu Zhan heard it. As if out of pity, Lu Zhan did not refuse, just slowly released the person in his arms.

”I’m leaving, Song Shu. Take care of yourself in the future!”

Lu Zhan’s figure disappeared at the restaurant entrance in no time. Song Shu stood silently for a while, then raised his hand to wipe his cheeks, hiding all his dishevelment, and walked out as if nothing had happened.

Meanwhile, on the top floor of Mu Corporation, Mu Lin was watching that surveillance video from the restaurant. His face was as cold as frost, his eyes as black as an abyss, and his whole body seemed to be shrouded in dark clouds, thick with a dull and oppressive aura.

Until he saw Song Shu walk over to embrace Lu Zhan, and their intimate hug when they parted.

The fire of jealousy and hatred in Mu Lin’s heart could no longer be suppressed; it erupted like a volcanic explosion, surging forth like rolling flames, and rushing like a burst dam.

And in the deepest part of his heart, there was a faint sense of unease. He was afraid that Lu Zhan would be bewitched by Song Shu and completely abandon him.

Before long, a violent crashing sound like a storm rang out in the office, accompanied by hysterical, malicious cries of ”Song Shu, you’re asking for death.”

In short, not long after, this office had already suffered a second disaster.

When people went in to clean up, it was a mess; the scene was simply unbearable to look at, and even that mobile phone hadn’t been spared, scattered in pieces on the floor.

It was even worse than last time, as if it had been swept through by a force-ten typhoon.

After calming down slightly, Mu Lin picked up his keys, took the elevator directly to the underground garage, and sat in his car. The vehicle sped away like a wild horse breaking free from its reins.

His eyes were fixed tightly ahead, filled with darkness and malevolence, and his hands gripping the steering wheel were turning white at the knuckles due to excessive force.

Along the way, his heart was like a giant wave stirred up by a gale, surging and churning, and his thoughts were even more chaotic and disorganized.

He was burning with anxiety, urgently wanting to know to what extent the relationship between Lu Zhan and Song Shu had developed.

Lu Zhan, such a cold and aloof person, why would he gently and proactively embrace Song Shu? Didn’t he say they were just friends? Or was Song Shu a different kind of existence to Lu Zhan?

Various questions kept emerging in his mind.

The car sped along, the scenery outside the window receding rapidly like a phantom, while Mu Lin’s heart was completely filled with anxiety and anger.

And there were Song Shu’s love-filled eyes in the video; perhaps Song Shu had opened his heart to Lu Zhan today, and Lu Zhan had accepted him, which was why he acted that way when leaving.

But he knew deep down that no matter what, he wanted to know Lu Zhan’s true thoughts.

And this answer would also determine what he would do next. Let go? That was never possible.

Outside the window was the dim twilight, the setting sun as bright as blood, painting the horizon a fiery red, as if Mu Lin’s boiling anger was burning.
