Shocking! The Fake Young Master Has Been Won Over by the Real Young Master!

152: The main text is finished.Yan Qinghe had always been very obedient. When Yan Zhuohua pleaded with him to change his flight, he was so captivated by his lover’s charms that he immediately took out his phone to handle it. Consequently, at two in the morning, Yan Zhuoyan, whose face was darker than the night sky, finally picked up his two impulsive younger brothers at the airport.

”You guys are really something, making me pick you up at this hour! It’s a perfectly good weekend; aren’t people allowed to sleep?”

”Keep it down, Second Brother. Zhuohua is asleep.”

Yan Zhuoyan: ”!”

Yan Zhuoyan: ”You two have no shame!”

The two shameless individuals slept soundly in each other’s arms in the back seat, while Yan Zhuoyan drove in the front, gnashing his teeth.

Kill them all! Sooner or later, I’m going to kill them all!

The next day at noon, the two who had stayed up late to catch their flight back finally came downstairs leisurely to have lunch.

Then they discovered that Yan Zhuoyang, who had been away on a business trip for nearly ten days, was actually sitting upright on the sofa drinking tea.

”Big Brother?! When did you get back?”

”Last night, the plane landed at four in the morning.” Yan Zhuoyang seemed to be in a very good mood today, so he proactively shared more information with them. ”I had Zhuoyan pick me up from the airport.”

Yan Zhuohua: ”?”

Yan Qinghe: ”...”

Waaaah! My heart aches for Yan Zhuoyan!

As if.

”What’s with those looks?” Yan Zhuoyang looked at his two younger brothers’ strange expressions with confusion.

”Nothing, nothing!” Yan Zhuohua pulled Yan Qinghe to sit on the sofa as well. ”Big Brother, since you’re back, how did the negotiations go?”

Speaking of serious business, Yan Zhuoyang didn’t dwell on their earlier odd behavior.

”The MR Country side provided a significant amount of resource compensation and agreed to several other conditions, plus a large batch of our country’s cultural relics that had been lost abroad.”

”What about the people behind it all?” Yan Zhuohua was clearly more concerned about the culprits.

”They want to protect those people. That batch of cultural relics was the price to buy their lives.”

”Why...”

”Because many eyes are watching. If they don’t protect those people’s lives, it would severely impact other foreign scientists and Researchers’ willingness to immigrate there and serve them.” If MR Country simply handed them over, others would feel the country didn’t care about their lives and only viewed them as tools, so they wouldn’t travel thousands of miles to work for them.

Protecting Wen Song was a matter of their national reputation and image.

Yan Zhuohua was very anxious. ”I understand the logic, but what does this have to do with scientists?”

”Did you not look at the materials I sent you?”

”What materials?” I-don’t-know-anything.JPG

Yan Zhuoyang felt a faint urge to get physical.

Yan Qinghe quickly stepped in, grabbing Yan Zhuohua’s phone to find the materials sent earlier and showing them to him.

”Background information on Wen Song and Wen Hengtang...” Yan Zhuohua glanced at the file name before reacting. ”Ha, haha, I thought it would just be some cliché villain origin story, so I didn’t look at it.”

”Enough,” Yan Zhuoyang didn’t bother to argue with him. ”I’ll tell you directly: Wen Hengtang’s father, Wen Song, was an intern at the official Research Institute when the mecha project was first established. He later went abroad.”

That made it clear. So the forces behind them knew about the project and its main participants, they just didn’t know the specific secrets.

”So, we have no way to get Wen Song back?”

”Correct. The result of the negotiation is that the MR Country officials will keep Wen Song under life-long house arrest. As for the others we captured ourselves, except for Wen Hengtang who will be sent to MR Country for house arrest with Wen Song, the rest will be handled according to our country’s laws.”

Yan Zhuohua didn’t speak, but he was clearly dissatisfied.

”In the face of national interests, we can only take a step back.” Yan Zhuoyang sighed and rubbed his younger brother’s head. ”The authorities also know we lost our father and suffered grievances, so they’ve provided many favorable conditions as compensation. It’s quite a grand gesture. Zhuohua, don’t forget our family motto is to be loyal to the country. Let this matter end here.”

After speaking, Yan Zhuoyang stood up. ”The outcome is settled. Hurry and call Zhuoyan down for lunch. This afternoon, we’ll go visit Father’s grave to bring peace to his soul in heaven.”

Yan Zhuoyang turned and went to the dining room, leaving only a silent Yan Zhuohua and Yan Qinghe in the living room.

After a moment, Yan Zhuohua turned and hugged Yan Qinghe.

Yan Qinghe patted his back gently. ”Don’t be sad anymore.”

”I know.” Yan Zhuohua’s voice was muffled. ”I know this is the best outcome for our country and our family, and I know that what a person might fear most isn’t death but living in pain, but I’m still a little unhappy.”

Humans are emotional beings. Even if one can understand the logic, when things actually happen, it’s still painful.

Yan Qinghe didn’t say anything more, only holding him tighter.

At two in the afternoon, the Yan Family convoy stopped at the entrance of the Yan Family Cemetery.

Except for those who died defending the country and whose bodies could never be recovered—who only had cenotaphs—all other members of the Yan Family were buried here. As the head of the family, Yan Jinming slept in a section in the center of the cemetery.

After getting out of the car, Yan Zhuohua and the others walked inside.

This place didn’t actually look like a graveyard; instead, it was a vibrant garden. When the Yan Family ancestors first moved the ancestral graves here, they said that after death, they wished to become a vast forest, a dense canopy protecting living souls.

As a hundred years passed, this land, which was already lush, grew even more luxuriant. Various trees and plants grew wildly in this peaceful and tranquil territory, and small animals moved about everywhere. When Yan Zhuohua first came here to pay his respects as a child, he thought he had arrived at some sort of botanical garden or zoo.

After walking for half an hour, they finally arrived at Yan Jinming’s grave.

This time it was the children paying respects to their late father, so Yan Zhuoyang took the lead, sweeping the grave and performing the rites, telling his father about the beginning, middle, and end of the incident.

After the ceremony, everyone tacitly left Yan Zhuohua, who was one of the parties involved, behind to let him speak with his father alone.

The surroundings were quiet and peaceful. A gentle breeze blew past, like a warm hand brushing against Yan Zhuohua’s cheek. He remembered the last thing his father had said to him.

”Live happily from now on.”

—”Father, I am living very happily now, and I will be even more blessed in the future.”

Yan Zhuohua wiped away his tears and turned to walk back toward his family waiting for him outside.

”Zhuohua!” Halfway there, Yan Qinghe came running toward him.

”What’s wrong? Afraid I’d have a big cry in front of Father alone?” Yan Zhuohua smiled mischievously again.

”No. News just came in. After Wen Song learned of the outcome, he couldn’t accept the result of life-long imprisonment and has committed suicide.”

Yan Zhuohua turned and ran back.

”Hey! Don’t run so fast!”

—

When Yan Zhuohua came out again, he was holding a small kitten in his arms.

”Didn’t you go back to tell the news to Father? Why do you have an extra cat?” Yan Zhuoyan was the first to crowd around, poking and prodding at the tiny kitten in Yan Zhuohua’s arms.

Yan Zhuohua couldn’t free his hands to stop this heavy-handed person, so he anxiously shouted to Yan Qinghe, ”Quick, come and pull Second Brother away! Don’t let him touch my kitten!”

Yan Qinghe obediently came over, and the three people and one cat became a tangled mess of play.

”Enough, enough! Stop fooling around, let’s go home first.” After watching them play for a while, Yan Zhuoyang finally ran out of patience. He gave each of his three younger brothers a kick and herded them all into the cars.

”Oh, what a beautiful little white Lion Cat. Where did this cat come from?” On the way, Jiang Fuyue, relying on her status as the head of the household, seized temporary ownership of the kitten and was very happily petting it.

Yan Zhuohua watched eagerly from behind. ”When I was coming out, I saw it crawling there all by itself. I looked for a long time but couldn’t find its nest or its mother, so I brought it back.”

”That’s good, we’ll keep it at home. Consider it your younger sister!”

”It’s a male, Mom.”

”It’s fine. After it’s neutered, it’ll be a younger sister.”

”...”

Cruel!

—

Over an hour later, they finally arrived home.

Yan Zhuohua was quick to snatch the kitten back into his arms, happily getting out of the car and walking toward the house.

Yan Qinghe followed behind him. Looking at his back, which seemed to be bubbling with joy, he couldn’t help but call out.

”Zhuohua?”

Hearing this, Yan Zhuohua turned around. The sight of him holding the cat against the light made Yan Qinghe feel completely captivated.

So this was what fulfillment and happiness felt like.
