Thunderstorm Asthma? I’ll Just Drain the National Power Grid!

148: A diversionary tactic! The Apocalypse Society has overturned the table!Donghu Mountain, Secret Realm exit.

Outside the cordon, the smell of blood still lingered in the air.

An agent quickly walked up to Su Wanqing, his expression grave.

”Report, Captain Su!”

”Based on the latest cross-referenced testimonies, the situation is very bad.”

”The Apocalypse Society members described by the Secret Realm survivors, a Rank C assassin and a Rank D power-type, perfectly match the identity features of the two who escaped from our medical station two hours ago.”

The agent paused, his voice dropping even lower: ”The two medical personnel at the medical station are confirmed to have sacrificed themselves. The ambulance was found in the junkyard, and the people are nowhere to be found.”

Su Wanqing listened quietly, her face expressionless.

”Understood,” her voice betrayed no emotion, ”Designate all survivors as Advanced surveillance targets, under 24-hour observation.”

”Donghu Mountain area, raise the lockdown Rank to Advanced, prohibit anyone from entering or exiting.”

”Yes!” The young agent acknowledged the order and turned to leave.

The wind in the valley stirred the hem of Su Wanqing’s clothes.

No one knew that beneath her calm expression, her heart had already sunk to the bottom.

Where was Lin Yuan now? How was he doing?

Su Wanqing slowly closed her eyes, and when she opened them again, the last of her emotions were suppressed.

She raised her wrist and operated on her tactical terminal a few times.

A signal tracking program began to run at high speed.

She did not go to the junkyard where the ambulance was abandoned.

That place would surely be where the enemy focused on clearing their tracks.

She took long strides, energy flashed beneath her feet, and her figure appeared on the mountain path a hundred meters away.

She was like a patient hunter, sweeping rapidly along every route the ambulance had taken.

The cold Qi at her fingertips constantly touched every surveillance camera, every signal base station, and even every smart lock on every shared bicycle along the roadside.

She was searching.

Searching for that unique electromagnetic signature belonging to ”Electric Eel.”

Time passed, minute by minute.

Half an hour later.

Su Wanqing stopped at an intersection on a main road leading back to the city.

She extended her fingertip and lightly tapped the control box of the traffic light at the intersection.

”Buzz—”

A faint but incredibly familiar electromagnetic wave traveled along her fingertip!

That was it!

The huge stone hanging in Su Wanqing’s heart finally fell.

She did not report it immediately.

Following the guidance of this signal, she continued forward.

The second signal point was the electronic display board of a bus stop in the suburbs.

The third, a neon billboard on a large building at the edge of the city.

The fourth, the fifth... All signals pointed to the same location.

—Jiangcheng, Central Plaza!

Su Wanqing pondered for a moment, then connected to Zhou Weiguo’s encrypted communication.

”Director Zhou, it’s me.”

”Speak,” Zhou Weiguo’s steady voice came from the other end of the communicator.

”’Electric Eel’ has news,” Su Wanqing spoke quickly, ”I found the signals he left, more than one. All signals point to Jiangcheng Central Plaza. Repeat, Jiangcheng Central Plaza!”

”He has likely penetrated deep into the core stronghold of the Apocalypse Society, and that stronghold is right in Central Plaza!”

However, the shocked voice she had expected from Zhou Weiguo did not come.

Instead, there was a piercing alarm and the roar of an explosion!

”Boom—!!!”

The sound, even through the communicator, made Su Wanqing’s eardrums ache.

”Director Zhou?!”

”Wanqing!” Zhou Weiguo’s voice became grave and urgent, ”Listen to me!”

”Just three minutes ago, the Apocalypse Society launched a full-scale attack in Jiangcheng!”

”The subway System in the East District, the hydroelectric power plant in the West City, the communication hub in the Southern Suburbs... seventeen energy and transportation hubs we were monitoring were simultaneously subjected to suicide attacks!”

”They’re crazy!”

”Now all field personnel of the entire Jiangcheng Branch have been deployed for emergency stabilization and rescue in various districts! Here... I can’t spare a single person for you!”

Su Wanqing’s heart sank halfway.

Luring the tiger away from its mountain.

No, it was even more ruthless than that.

This was flipping the table!

They created city-wide chaos just to cover their ultimate goal at Central Plaza!

”I have already requested emergency support from the General Bureau,” Zhou Weiguo’s voice was still clear amidst the noisy background, ”But the fastest support team will still need...”

He paused.

”Three hours.”

”Director Zhou, I request to proceed to Central Plaza immediately!” Su Wanqing did not hesitate at all.

There was a two-second silence on the other end of the communication.

”Your mission is not to attack, but to infiltrate, to reconnoiter,” Zhou Weiguo’s voice became incredibly serious, ”Before reinforcements arrive, you must not expose yourself, and certainly not act on your own.”

”You are alone, understand?”

”Understood.”

”Protect yourself.”

The communication was cut.

Su Wanqing stood on the edge of the tall building, looking towards the direction of the city center in the distance.

There, the lights were just coming on, still a scene of prosperity.

But she knew that beneath that false peace, a storm capable of overturning the entire city was brewing.

And that bastard was right in the eye of the storm... at the top platform of the Apocalypse Tower.

Two hours and thirty minutes remained until the countdown ended.

The energy torrent still surged from all directions into the array beneath Lin Yuan’s feet.

Standing behind the energy shield, Night Crow, who had witnessed all of this, had gone from initial jealousy and mockery to numbness, and finally to deep fear.

He watched with his own eyes as the energy fluctuations of the array beneath Lin Yuan’s feet far exceeded the Rank C scope, and were even continuously climbing!

And that idiot named A Li was standing right in the center of the bomb, completely defenseless!

Was he crazy?! Could he not feel the terrifying power contained beneath his feet?!

Just then.

Lin Yuan, who had kept his eyes tightly closed, slowly opened them.

He ignored Night Crow behind him, who had already begun to doubt his life.

He just raised his head and looked up.

Thick dark clouds had already pressed down to an extremely low altitude.

Within the clouds, countless electric serpents were gathering.

They were searching for a target.

A vent.

Lin Yuan smiled.

He stuck out his tongue, licked his somewhat dry lips, and murmured to himself.

”Are you here?”
