Thunderstorm Asthma? I’ll Just Drain the National Power Grid!

130: I’m promoted on the spot! From today onwards, I’m a full member! It was a merit literally handed to him!

Lin Yuan silently cheered, “Beauty Su is awesome!” but his face contorted into an anxious expression!

He lunged forward and caught Black Mask, who had already passed out.

“Go!”

Lin Yuan hoisted the man, who was even taller than him, onto his shoulder and ran!

His actions caught Su Wanqing’s “attention”.

“Trying to run?!”

Su Wanqing let out an “angry shout,” and an ice cone shot towards Lin Yuan’s back!

Lin Yuan didn’t look back; he merely flicked out a faint electric arc from his fingertips as he turned.

The electric arc silently struck the ground near Su Wanqing’s feet.

Su Wanqing’s body stiffened.

She recognized that unique lightning Qi!

It was Lin Yuan!

She immediately understood Lin Yuan’s plan.

The ice cone aimed at Lin Yuan veered off by an inch.

“Bang!”

The ice cone grazed Lin Yuan’s body and embedded itself in the wall beside him, exploding into a cloud of ice mist.

Lin Yuan, carrying Black Mask, rushed towards Exit B without looking back.

Just before disappearing around the corner.

He repeated his trick.

An Electromagnetic Pulse emanated from his feet, attaching itself to a fire hydrant next to the exit passage.

After doing all this, his figure vanished from the sight of the Dragon Shield Bureau members.

Su Wanqing watched his disappearing back with a complex expression.

She raised her hand and reported into her communicator: “Reporting to Command Center, a Class C Executor has been rescued by an unidentified individual, requesting pursuit.”

“Repeat, target characteristics: Strength Enhancement ability, suspected Apocalypse Society probationary member.”

Lin Yuan, carrying the unconscious Black Mask, frantically moved through the back alley.

He did not go to the designated Exit B.

That area would undoubtedly be a key target for the Dragon Shield Bureau’s encirclement now.

Electromagnetic Induction was fully engaged.

He avoided all surveillance and pursuit teams, weaving through the city’s shadows.

Eventually, he slipped into an abandoned underground pipeline.

He threw the person from his shoulder onto the ground.

“Thud.”

Black Mask let out a muffled sound, but still showed no signs of waking up.

Lin Yuan gasped for breath, leaning against the pipe wall, and began to consider his next step.

Kill him?

Then replace him with the Abyssal Mithril Mask?

This thought only appeared in his mind for a second before he dismissed it.

No.

He could imitate this person’s appearance, voice, and even energy fluctuations.

But he couldn’t acquire this person’s memories.

A “Black Mask” with no past would not survive a day in an organization like the Apocalypse Society, which was more paranoid than the heavens.

By then, when questioned, he would be clueless and wouldn’t even know how he died.

The risk was too high.

To infiltrate, he still needed to rely on “acting.”

Lin Yuan made up his mind.

He walked over to Black Mask and knelt down.

He reached out and began to search the man.

Soon, he found a specialized healing spray.

“Hiss—”

Lin Yuan sprayed it onto the collapsed area of the man’s chest.

“Hmm…”

Black Mask groaned, his eyelids fluttered, and he slowly opened his eyes.

“My... My Lord! You’re awake!”

Lin Yuan’s voice was filled with “excitement” and “joy.”

Black Mask was initially confused, then became alert.

He struggled to sit up, but the movement aggravated his chest injury, causing him to cough violently.

“Who are you?” His voice was hoarse and weak.

“My Lord! I am A Li!” Lin Yuan said with a “loyal” expression, “Just now… just now those mad dogs from the Dragon Shield Bureau launched a sneak attack, and I saw you get injured, so… so I risked my life to carry you out!”

As he spoke, he even put on a fearful expression, as if saying, “I don’t know where I got the courage.”

“I... I couldn’t just stand by and watch you fall into their hands!”

“We are the sparks of the new world! We still have to welcome the Apocalypse!”

Lin Yuan’s acting had reached a masterful level.

The fanaticism in his eyes, the certainty in his tone, would make any pyramid scheme leader feel ashamed.

Black Mask stared intently at him.

The eyes beneath the mask almost seemed to see through Lin Yuan.

After a long while.

Black Mask’s gaze finally softened.

He believed it.

A newly Awakened, weak, and successfully brainwashed probationary member.

In such a chaotic situation, making such an “impulsive” and “loyal” move was perfectly logical.

Moreover, his life was indeed saved by this kid named A Li.

“You... did very well.”

Black Mask struggled and sat up, leaning against the wall.

“My name is Night Crow.”

He reported his codename.

“You saved my life; the organization will not forget your contribution.”

Night Crow looked at Lin Yuan, a hint of admiration in his expression.

Such “believers”—weak in strength but extremely loyal—were precisely the subordinates these Executors liked most.

Easy to use, obedient, and not a bother if they died.

“I... I just did what I should have done!” Lin Yuan’s face turned red with “excitement,” “For the Apocalypse Society, for the new world, I am willing to dedicate everything!”

“Very good.”

Night Crow nodded, very satisfied with Lin Yuan’s performance.

He pulled out something resembling a communicator from his pocket and pressed a few buttons.

“We need to get out of here first.”

Night Crow glanced around, “The Dragon Shield Bureau’s dogs have keen noses; it’s not safe here.”

He looked at Lin Yuan and gave an order.

“Help me up.”

“Yes, My Lord!”

Lin Yuan stepped forward and carefully helped Night Crow to his feet.

“Your name is A Li, right?” Night Crow leaned on Lin Yuan as they walked, asking.

“Yes, My Lord!”

“You have proven your loyalty.” Night Crow’s voice carried the tone of a superior granting a favor, “Once we return to the base, I will personally introduce you.”

“From today onwards, you are no longer a probationary member.”

“I will make you a true, glorious Apocalypse Society believer.”

...Inside Vada International Plaza, chaos reigned.

Dragon Shield Bureau logistics personnel had already entered the scene and begun processing it.

They woke up the sleeping civilians, erased their memories, and appeased them by claiming “a mall circuit malfunction released a small amount of harmless anesthetic gas.”

The captured Apocalypse Society members, wearing specialized energy-suppressing handcuffs, were dejectedly escorted onto prisoner transport vehicles.

Su Wanqing stood in the mall atrium, directing the cleanup operations.

“Area A cleared.”

“Area C: three peripheral members found, apprehended.”

“Reporting, Captain Su, all captured personnel identities have been initially verified, totaling seventeen individuals, including eight official members and nine probationary members.”

Reports from various teams continuously came through her earpiece.

“Understood.”

Su Wanqing’s voice betrayed no emotion.

But her inner world was far from as calm as her exterior suggested.

That scoundrel... not only successfully infiltrated but also took a Class C member as a “pledge of allegiance.”

He was too bold.

“Captain Su.”

A young agent hurried up to her and saluted.

“The scene is largely under control. Director Zhou asks you to report to the temporary command post after you’ve finished here.”

“Mm.”

Su Wanqing nodded.

“I’ll go check the escape route to see if any clues were left behind.”

“Yes!”

The young agent didn’t suspect anything and turned to carry out other orders.

Su Wanqing walked alone in the direction Lin Yuan had escaped.

She walked very slowly.

Each step was like a careful inspection.

Finally, she stopped in front of a fire hydrant.

This was it.

She condensed cold Qi at her fingertips and touched the fire hydrant’s casing.

An extremely faint but incredibly familiar Electromagnetic fluctuation traveled up her fingertips.

This was Lin Yuan’s mark.

A coordinate signal.

The stone weighing on Su Wanqing’s heart finally lifted halfway.

She withdrew her hand, the cold Qi at her fingertips dissipated, as if nothing had happened.

She turned and walked towards the command vehicle.
