Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2915: Chapter 2913: Was It Intentional?

”I know, brother. Then are we still going to look for the person Mom told us about?” Ji Yu asked her brother.

”Not for now. We should get ourselves settled first before talking about anything else. Besides, he’s not even here. Even if we wanted to look for him, we wouldn’t be able to find him. And we don’t have any money, not even for the bus fare. How are we supposed to search?” Ji Yan’s words made the light in his eyes dim. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to look; he just couldn’t. They didn’t have the means, and even if they wanted to search, they couldn’t find the person.

On top of that, in this vast sea of people, how easy could it be to find one single person? It would be like looking for a needle in a haystack. Rushing in blindly would only be like drawing water with a bamboo basket—nothing to show for it.

So, they did have to look for that person, but not now. And they didn’t even know what kind of person he was. If they wanted to search, they really had to plan long-term.

”Mm, I got it. I’ll listen to you.” After hearing her brother’s words, Ji Yu didn’t say anything more, but started thinking about how she could help him look for clues.

”Brother, then you should go back and rest. Getting your injury healed as soon as possible is the most important thing.” Ji Yu didn’t want her brother to stay out here any longer. If it got too late, he wouldn’t rest well.

”Mm, you should go back to your room and sleep too. Don’t do things you can’t manage. Once I’m better, I’ll do them. You just need to cook the meals, that’s enough. Leave the rest to your brother, you hear me?” Ji Yan didn’t want his sister doing heavy work, so he reminded her, hoping she would listen.

”I know. Don’t worry, I won’t mess around. I’m not like you, using your own body as a joke.” Ji Yu had no intention of being like Ji Yan. She would just think of other ways to get things done.

So, believing that she had taken his words to heart, Ji Yan patted his sister’s head and went back to his room. It was only later that he found out that his sister hadn’t really listened to him at all—she had just changed her method, that was all.

It was just too early to say any of this now, because neither of them knew that they both wanted to do a little more for the other.

So, since the siblings didn’t voice their thoughts, they couldn’t know what the other was really thinking. They only knew that, with things like this, there wasn’t much they could actually do.

Meanwhile, Qin Xue and her husband were also walking home. Because the road wasn’t very good and it was dark, they were walking a bit slowly.

”Chu Molin, I ran into Su Han today.” Qin Xue felt it was better to tell Chu Molin. Even though she was a bit resistant to talking to her husband about another woman, she still felt she had to let him know, otherwise she might regret it later.

”Why would she be in the Imperial Capital?” Chu Molin didn’t understand. What exactly did that woman want to do?

”I don’t know either. And it was such a coincidence that I just happened to run into her. I feel like there’s more to this than it seems.” Qin Xue had wanted to avoid her, but somehow she kept failing to.

She’d spent the whole afternoon thinking that since she couldn’t avoid her, she might as well face it openly.

She was telling Chu Molin now because she wanted to hear his opinion.

”Was it on purpose?” Chu Molin held his wife’s hand and slowly walked home with her.

”I don’t know.” Qin Xue wished she did, but unfortunately, she had no idea what Su Han was thinking.

”You should still be on your guard with her. We don’t know what she’s really after, so it’s better to be careful.” Chu Molin brought up his old warning again.

As long as it had to do with his wife, he never relaxed. If anyone threatened her safety, he would beat them to death without hesitation. He would never let the other person get off easy.

So, that woman Su Han definitely had a problem. They had to find a way to look into her background, otherwise they really would be too passive, and that would be very bad for them.

Especially since this matter involved his wife Qin Xue, he couldn’t afford to lower his guard.
