Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1128: Chapter 1122: The First Day of the New Year_1 Chapter 1128: Chapter 1122: The First Day of the New Year_1 After waiting for Qing Zhu to finish her meal, Qin Xue cleaned up the dishes and went home. She had woken up late, and she was worried that Qing Zhu might be hungry, so she first brought food to Qing Zhu’s. It was only after returning home that she had her own meal. This morning, when she met Fang Xiu’s intrusive gaze, she blushed a little.

Now she was home, her main concern was not other matters, but filling her stomach. However, as soon as she arrived home, she found that the whole family was still waiting for her and they hadn’t had their meal yet.

“Why hasn’t anyone eaten yet? Don’t tell me you’ve all been waiting for me,” Qin Xue asked, washing her hands and sitting down to see everyone sitting silently. The dishes on the table were still steaming, indicating they had been reheated.

“Today is the first day of the New Year, so of course we were waiting for you. It’s important that the whole family eats our reunion meal together,” Qin Lei explained with a laugh now that his eldest daughter was home.

“Why didn’t you say so earlier? I could have come home sooner instead of staying so long at Qing Zhu’s,” Qin Xue said, feeling embarrassed. She thought her family members would have had their meal before her and left hers to be warmed up in the pot. She had no idea they hadn’t eaten and had been waiting for her.

“There was nothing important going on today anyway, and we were all at home. What’s the big deal about waiting for you? Let’s all eat,” Qin Lei suggested, gesturing everyone to start eating.

“Qin Xue, can you share the New Year traditions in your family?” Ouyang Ziyu asked Qin Xue after taking a bite of meat.

“Uh… I’m not quite sure how to explain. You’ll understand once you experience it yourself. Otherwise, you’re just hearing about it from me, right?” Qin Xue replied.

She had never celebrated the New Year here before, so how could she know if the customs here were the same as back home. If they weren’t and she said they were, how would she explain that? So, it was better for her to let Ziyu see and observe for herself.

“That makes sense,” Ouyang Ziyu nodded in agreement. She later asked some other questions, but didn’t ask about customs anymore.

Chu Molin glanced sideways at his wife. Others might not understand why she didn’t answer, but he did, and he was quite satisfied with her quick thinking to improvise.

He picked up a piece of chicken and placed it in her bowl. Having spent a long time with Qin Xue, Chu Molin had come to understand some of her preferences.

Chicken was her favorite, especially the meaty parts. Chu Molin once asked her why she liked meaty parts so much. She said it was more convenient; there was no need to gnaw at the bones. It was quick and easy. With only a little time to eat each day, she didn’t have the time to slowly savor her food. Hence, it became a habit.

As a result, she mostly ate meaty parts and seldom gnawed on bones. However, when she was with Chenchen and Yingying, she’d still gnaw at bones, because it indicated they had plenty of time and didn’t need to rush.

However, such moments were rare, as the three of them worked in different fields. Chenchen had social engagements every day, Qin Xue had shifts, and Yingying used to be in the army and could only come out once in a while. After her discharge, she followed her master and had even less time to socialize. Even so, they kept in touch regularly, so their relationship hadn’t changed much.

Thinking of this, Qin Xue paused for a moment. She didn’t know why, but these days, memories of her time with them often surfaced. Their time together usually sprang to mind.

She didn’t know what these recollections were trying to convey. Was it because of Chenchen or Yingying? Qin Xue shook her head, resumed eating, and thought no more. Thinking too much would be of no use.

“Xue’er, what’s wrong?” Chu Molin noticed his wife’s action and asked quietly.

“Nothing, just remembering some things,” Qin Xue replied, smiling at her husband.
