Chapter 65 Pei ZhipengMuhe, Central Hospital.

Pei Zhipeng’s grandmother had been temporarily placed in a ward.

She hadn’t been told the real reason; they only said there were matters they needed her cooperation with.

This was also to prevent any unforeseen incidents.

”One team will set up a perimeter outside the hospital. Any suspicious person entering must be carefully screened. Once spotted, use your own judgment based on the situation to decide whether to move in.”

”The other team will disguise themselves as staff on duty. As soon as Pei Zhipeng arrives, arrest him immediately!”

”Also, this is a hospital with a lot of people. Try not to fire your weapons!”

After Xiao Zhang finished giving instructions to the group, he immediately turned his gaze toward Chen Mo.

Chen Mo noticed his look.

”This Pei Zhipeng is a martial arts instructor and is very capable in a fight. Try to have three people arrest him simultaneously.”

”Yes!”

The response was uniform and full of momentum.

Watching everyone leave, they were now just waiting for Pei Zhipeng to take the bait.

Chen Mo walked back into the ward.

Pei Zhipeng’s grandmother sat by the hospital bed with a worried face, her hands clasped together, her expression looking very anxious.

She was old, but she wasn’t stupid.

Having lived for most of a lifetime, she knew the police wouldn’t come looking for an old woman like her for no reason.

The moment she thought of her grandson, her heart felt even more heavy.

”Officer, did Xiao Peng do something wrong?”

Chen Mo glanced at her and didn’t answer, keeping a cold face.

Firstly, the person hadn’t been caught yet, so there was no need to cause unnecessary trouble by speaking now. Secondly, she was quite old, and whether her body could handle the shock was also a concern.

He kept a cold expression, deliberately acting like someone difficult to get along with.

With that, the ward fell silent.

Chen Mo went to the window and looked down; this ward had been specifically chosen.

It provided a direct view of the entire area below.

As long as Pei Zhipeng showed up, he would definitely see him.

Additionally, he was pleasantly surprised to find that the Trace Investigation ability wasn’t just for finding clues left by criminals at crime scenes; using it to find people now also yielded good results.

...

At the same time.

The parking lot.

It was currently 1:40 PM, the hottest time of the afternoon.

A man wearing a peaked cap, a white sun-protection jacket, and a pair of shorts walked straight toward a Honda that had just been turned off.

He pulled open the passenger door and sat down as if he belonged there.

”Who are you? What are you doing!?”

In the driver’s seat was a middle-aged man, an internist at Central Hospital, who had just parked his car and was preparing to go to work.

Seeing a tightly bundled-up person suddenly sit in the passenger seat, there was a hint of nervousness in his tone.

”I’m not a bad person. A doctor just called me and said my grandmother needs surgery because of a car accident, and they need me to come and sign for it.”

”But I was in such a hurry that I forgot which hospital it was. I wanted to ask if your hospital just received an elderly person from a car accident?”

Hearing this, the doctor in the driver’s seat finally breathed a sigh of relief.

He then said irritably, ”If you forgot, just call back! Get out of the car now!”

”My phone is broken.”

Pei Zhipeng pulled a phone with a shattered screen from his pocket.

”I was so scared at the time that I accidentally dropped and broke it.”

His voice choked up, putting on an act of a grandson worried about his grandmother.

”I also just got here, I really can’t help you.”

The doctor spread his hands. Though it was pitiful, he had seen too many pitiful people in the hospital; if he didn’t know, he didn’t know.

”Can’t you help me make a call and ask?”

”You’re quite something. In the time you’ve spent here, you could have already run inside to ask. What do you really want!?”

The doctor questioned Pei Zhipeng.

”Screw you!”

Failing to get the result he wanted and being suspected, he immediately turned his hand into a blade and chopped directly at the doctor’s neck.

The man fainted on the spot.

He wasn’t a martial arts instructor for nothing; dealing with a middle-aged man was easy.

He then stripped the work uniform off the man and put it on himself.

It wasn’t for nothing that he was so cautious.

He had committed crimes for several days in a row; the police must have started investigating.

Why would his grandmother have a car accident now of all times?

It was hard not to suspect the police were setting a trap for him.

But even if he knew, so what?

He still had to come. In case he guessed wrong and his grandmother missed her surgery, he would never be able to forgive himself.

He straightened his clothes, dragged the doctor to the passenger seat, and sat back in the driver’s seat with the engine running and the door ajar. This ensured that if there was an accident, he could jump in the car and flee.

He pulled up his mask and walked quickly toward the hospital.

At the same time, he kept scanning his surroundings with his peripheral vision.

When a young man eating a pancake appeared on a public bench to his right, his heart tightened, and he immediately turned around and ran back.

He looked back at the same time, but no one was chasing him.

The young man eating the pancake didn’t even look at him.

Actually, he wasn’t sure, but with this feint, any policeman would have certainly rushed over to catch him.

Maybe he was overthinking it?

The police hadn’t found him at all?

He couldn’t waste any more time.

He turned back again and ran quickly into the hospital.

Xiao Zhang, sitting on the bench to the side, swallowed his pancake.

He picked up his walkie-talkie and said, ”Target spotted, prepare for arrest!”

Inside the hospital, Pei Zhipeng went straight to the nurse’s station.

”I’m Wang Meihua’s family. She was in a car accident, I’m here to sign...”

Before he could finish, an object pressed against his waist.

”Pei Zhipeng, you’re under arrest!”

His voice stopped, and he looked behind him.

”Don’t turn around!”

As soon as the words were spoken—

Thud!

An elbow strike instantly hit Xiao Zhang’s stomach. He felt as if he had been hit by a truck and lay on the ground clutching his belly.

Pei Zhipeng didn’t even give Xiao Zhang a second look. With so many people here, he didn’t believe the police would dare to fire.

So he didn’t hesitate at all in his counterattack.

”Don’t run!”

The officer disguised as a nurse immediately rushed out from the nurse’s station.

The two of them were instantly locked in a struggle.

The surrounding patients and families were startled and quickly ran away.

”You think you can beat me?”

Pei Zhipeng clenched his fists, a cruel smile appearing at the corner of his mouth.

After a few moves, he had already landed five punches on the officer.

And this last punch was aimed right at the officer’s face.

If this heavy blow connected, the officer would lose his life instantly.

Xiao Zhang, lying on the ground, clutched his stomach with one hand and tried to aim his gun with the other, but he couldn’t lock onto the target at all.

Moreover, because of the pain in his stomach, his hand was shaking violently. With civilians all around, he didn’t dare to fire.

Just as the fist was about to land on the officer’s face—

Pei Zhipeng suddenly pulled back and turned to run outside.

His goal had been achieved.

His grandmother was fine; it was a trap set by the police.

Next, he just had to get in the car and he could escape.

Ding.

The abrupt sound of an elevator door opening rang out.

Chen Mo walked out quickly from inside.
