Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1495: Defense Border Part 10

As Karoos’ wings expanded rapidly, threatening to go airborne and smother Xu Feng to death, the latter also responded.

He directly activated Divine Wrath and cast Aura of Fear.

Karoos was alerted when he noticed the skills were indeed similar to those of a baptized person. The foul stench of the holy light.

”Not bad, but not good enough.” Karoos screeched and immediately soared to the sky, his speed a lightning flash.

In the blink of an eye, Karoos had closed the distance between them as he unleashed a hail of demonic forces at Xu Feng.

Xu Feng detected the attack earlier and blinked away to avoid the demonic forces from touching him.

There were certain demonic forces that he must avoid to prevent contamination and corruption.

Demon Lord was annoying to fight against because the longer the battle remained, the higher the chance that its contamination and corruption would end you.

Think of it like a lingering poison Damage Over Time (DoT) status ailment. But only that the demonic forces would wipe his mana clean too if not cleansed properly.

Shortly after Xu Feng blinked away, Karoos gave chase. His mighty wings instantly assisted him in closing the gap between them right away.

”Where are you running, ant?” Karoos sneered. ”Weren’t you all arrogant earlier and claimed to be a baptized person?”

Soon, Karoos enveloped the surrounding area with his demonic mana. He locked the space itself and prevented Xu Feng from blinking away.

’Hah, the Aura of Fear is indeed useless to a Tier 4 Demon Lord.’ Meanwhile, Xu Feng was slightly disappointed that his Aura of Fear, which used to work wonders, was powerless in front of Karoos.

Rather than emitting fear, it was more like stroking Karoos’ ego to become more energetic in the battle.

With the space itself locked, Xu Feng quickly enveloped himself in a shadow form.

The Shadow Veil was still one of his best movement skills, topped with the Phantom Steps.

Just like that, when Karoos got close, Xu Feng sped away at an increased pace.

”Oh, you can still move that agile?” Karoos was amused by the sudden increase in movement speed.

He licked his lips menacingly as he flapped his wings and instantly caught up to Xu Feng from behind.

Then, with his right arm, he made an acute angle slashing motion.

Xu Feng sensed the attack and knew dodging was impossible at his current position.

Searing chains!

He wielded his staff and hoped to stall Karoos’ right arm with the chains.

Alas, Karoos ignored the chains and pierced through them as if they were mere butter.

Just when Karoos’ grin grew larger, thinking he had finally caught the rat, his eyes widened slightly when there was another blast incoming.

”Sorry, but I never do any unnecessary movements.” Xu Feng said calmly and blasted him with Sanctuary Light.

Upon sensing the danger, Karoos clicked his tongue and immediately flapped his wings downward, creating a large gust beneath as he flew higher.

Unfortunately for Karoos, the blast wasn’t a single target, but rather an AoE radius attack.

The light shone everywhere, and Karoos’ left foot was hit by it.

A sizzling sound resounded, and Karoos gritted his teeth in frustration. He wasn’t heavily injured by the attack, but the fact that he was the first to be injured made him infuriated.

He, a mighty Demon Lord, was injured by an ant with the strength of only Tier 2!

His face twisted into an ugly expression.

His wings quickly turned darker in color.

Then, in a swooshing sound, Karoos appeared in front of Xu Feng.

’Danger!’ Xu Feng was alarmed by its increased speed. He quickly tried to cast a barrier to defend himself.

Unfortunately, Kraoos didn’t simply gain movement speed. But even his strength had improved by leaps and bounds as he extended his arm, and the barrier shattered like a cracked egg.

BAM!

Xu Feng was directly hit by the impact and knocked back several meters.

Along the way, his body crashed through multiple trees and grass.

-135,000

”Damn, that hurt like a truck ran me over.” Xu Feng winced in pain and slowly got up from the crash.

It was a good thing this wasn’t really his physical body. Otherwise, that kind of impact would be enough to send him to another world.

While the pain was still there, his healing had automatically kicked in and recovered his health points to full.

The benefit of being a healer was that he could be self-sufficient and not have to rely on health potions to sustain himself. As for the mana recovery potion, who would need that when they build their character correctly?

However, he didn’t even get a chance to compose himself when Karoos appeared behind him.

Then, without any words or warnings, they directly kicked him in the back.

BOOOM!

Like a cannonball, Xu Feng was once again sent flying across the field.

His body curled up together as if he had become a big bowling ball that was aiming at the trees as if they were bowling pins.

-200,000

By the time his momentum stopped, Xu Feng felt every fiber of his body had been hammered down.

”Not so much talking now, right?” Karoos snickered coldly. He felt revitalized when he landed multiple attacks on Xu Feng.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng slowly stood up and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth.

”Who talks so much in a fight?” He spat out a mouthful of blood. ”Are you a kid or someone who needs to be stroked constantly?”

Almost immediately, Karoos’ smirk vanished. What replaced it was a menacing expression that threatened to devour Xu Feng alive.

”Jeez, aura farming now, aren’t you?” Xu Feng snorted and also did the same. He flashed a menacing expression and taunted. ”Come at me, you big idiot buffoon.”

”You’re dead meat!”

Karoos roared and propelled himself toward Xu Feng without any regard.

’Bingo!’ Xu Feng stood in place, his eyes subtly glancing at the ward that he had laid in advance when he was being tossed around like a rag doll.
