Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1464: The Retaliation Part 15

Once the exclusive clip ended there, the camera panned back to Cute Joy.

”As everyone can see... the player Skysoar King was killed in action and lost the majority of his gear and levels. He was also unable to log in for a certain duration.” She said in a grave tone.

Though the subtle context was obvious.

Skysoar King wanted to share this exclusive video because he lost most of his wealth and wished to recoup some of the losses.

And the audiences watching the news were certain that there might be more information that the company was withholding.

After all, they refused to believe this short 1-minute clip would cause them to be generous enough to name-drop Skysoar King.

Just the name alone on the big screen was enough to bring in lots of traffic to the players themselves.

”Oh my gawd. Just what is happening in Garrison City?” As if on cue, Little Honey gasped in horror and began asking her fellow companion. Naturally, the reaction appeared genuine, but a clever person would know that she was mimicking the current audience’s reactions.

After all, it wouldn’t make sense for her to not have seen the clip in advance.

Sure enough, Cute Joy quickly followed with the skit.

”It’s not just in Garrison City.” Cute Joy dropped the bomb.

”What?” Little Honey’s eyes widened in disbelief. ”Are you saying the Colossuses’ activity has increased, and the players are going to have an even more miserable life? This is crazy!!!”

”No, this time, it’s quite weird.” Cute Joy shook her head.

”The attack this time seemed to be caused by some sort of phenomenon. The monsters attacking were rather agitated and only targeted buildings. The players didn’t die from the swarming but from collateral damage caused by fallen buildings or stray attacks.”

Little Honey covered her mouth and exhaled. ”That is indeed weird.”

A few seconds later, more clips were being shown, with each city being displayed in a similar situation to Garrison City.

The only saving grace was that these cities being targeted weren’t the most popular spots for players.

Garrison City, Numon City, and Dock River City were all left in ruin.

”The damages should be enough for now.” Xu Feng muttered. Although Starion City was left unscathed because of Dexter’s presence, this hit list could be considered successful.

Those nobles who sided against him were probably beating their chest.

Losing a city of such scale would definitely hurt deeply.

To put it in perspective, if Xu Feng were to lose his Haven Wind Town, then the guild’s financial situation might collapse altogether.

The revenue generated from the town daily was no small amount. It was enough to rival big companies’ yearly revenue in the real world.

Just when Xu Feng thought it was enough and was about to close the news, Cute Joy suddenly revealed another explosive news.

”By the way, these cities didn’t just turn into ruins. From one of the clips, Numon City became isolated and began to spawn some monsters with cracked horns on their heads. Video taking was somehow banned, so the player could only take a screenshot of it before being killed by the said monster.”

Soon, the image of a monster that resembled a dog and a wolf was posted.

”Hellhound...” Xu Feng’s pupils were constricted. As expected, Hell really had been operating behind the scenes for a while.

They definitely took advantage of the rift caused by the Colossuses and decided to infiltrate the Divine World.

The cities turning into one of Hell’s bases weren’t something caused by him. Instead, it was precisely because of his actions that they were indirectly exposed to the world.

”This is actually getting crazy and a bit overwhelming.” He knitted his brows and frowned. The current state of the players wasn’t adequate to even begin any confrontation with Hell.

Even he had to flee like a sewage rat to escape from just one of Hell’s Envoy.

Well, they weren’t an Envoy yet, merely a Messenger in this current timeline.

”Ugh, forget it.” He ultimately shook his head. These problems were way out of his league anyway.

What he should have focused on was actual MMO gameplay.

Grinding monsters, selling items in the Auction House, and upgrading his gear.

As for these so-called big pictures?

Sorry, but Xu Feng shall take the back seat now. Tier 5 experts were appearing, which meant that it was no longer of his or other players’ concern.

With that in mind, he closed the television and returned to his gaming capsule.

However, he didn’t enter the Divine World right away. Instead, he took a moment of silence to reflect on his journey since his reincarnation to his current state.

Almost a year had gone by, and it was truly one heck of a progress.

”What a life I’ve had.” His trajectory was a complete parallel to his past timeline. He was no longer bowing before others and doing their bidding.

He alone, now, controlled his own fate.

Nobody should ever attempt or even dare to compromise their current life and decide how they should act.

His eyes flashed a sharp glint as he took a deep breath.

”It’s time for the Vanguard Guild to be widely accepted as a Top First-Rated Guild.”

Soon, the gaming capsule closed as his vision blanked out for a few moments.

By the time he regained his vision, Xu Feng noticed his surroundings had been razed.

’Looks like I was right.’ He was relieved that his cautious nature paid off.

The whole radius around him was practically burned to a crisp, with nothing left behind.

There was still a lingering residual of a powerful mana source as well.

Although he wasn’t sure if this was the work of Dexter, he was certain that he had indeed been marked previously.

’To escape the cleansing of my item goes to show that their marking was very high tier.’ He sighed inwardly and decided to take many more detours before finally returning to Haven Wind Town.

...

Haven Wind Town

The town was still as prosperous as ever, with many players eagerly waiting in line to enter.

’My god, didn’t the entry fee increase to 10 silver coins already?’ Even Xu Feng was baffled by the surge of numbers.
