Xu Feng’s eyes widened in astonishment when he saw the status of Kong Ming.

The intelligence value of over 3,500 was insane!

’No wonder he could afford to flood such a wide area for a long duration.’ With that kind of intelligence value, his mana and mana recovery could easily sustain it.

The intelligence value was way over the regular average of a Tier 4 level 160 person.

It would usually be around 2,500-2,800, and barely scrape 3,000 if the player had a good equipment set.

However, what he really appreciated was the loyalty value.

60 was definitely a high bar for someone who had just pledged allegiance.

The highest value was 100, but Kong Ming already had a value of 60, which was most likely a contributing factor to his conduct, his town, and his morals.

The moral of refusing to earn money from the struggling and poor.

Xu Feng must admit that he was a money-grubber, but even then, he only scammed the wealthy or the pricks.

As someone who had long experienced a poor lifestyle, he understood what it felt like to be bullied without being able to retaliate.

”Now that you have sworn allegiance, I must put in work to ensure Bardmon City’s survival.” Xu Feng smiled lightly.

Even without the subsequent warning from the system that stated failure to defend Bardmon City would automatically lose Kong Ming as well as his investment, Xu Feng was determined.

And that was mainly because he had witnessed something he hadn’t seen for a long time.

A fierce loyalty toward a collective goal.

These soldiers weren’t just some coded programs, but people whose burning desire was to defend their living place.

”I’ve informed my members to bring in supplies to help sustain the soldiers.” Xu Feng informed Kong Ming. Now that Kong Ming was part of his rank, he naturally wouldn’t skim out on giving his utmost support.

Naturally, Kong Ming didn’t put it to heart and gladly accepted the support.

”How long will it take them to come here?” Kong Ming inquired. The Teleport Platform hadn’t been established yet.

Therefore, transportation would still be quite problematic if Xu Feng had only just informed them now and not earlier.

”I’ll apologize in advance as well, Kong Ming.” In response to his question, Xu Feng also bowed slightly and explained the circumstances.

Similar to how Kong Ming was testing his character and waiting to see if he was worthy, the same was true for Xu Feng.

As soon as Xu Feng finished the explanation, a soldier quickly approached them.

”Sir, City Magistrate, we have a large number of people arriving at the defense border and claiming to be summoned here.” The soldier saluted and reported in confusion.

”Those are your people?” Kong Ming turned to Xu Feng and asked.

”Are they wearing this kind of guild emblem?” Xu Feng flashed his Vanguard Guild emblem to the soldier.

”Yes, each of them had one, albeit less fancier than yours.”

”Then they’re my people. Bring them over here!”

”Yes, Sir!”

Sometime later, the soldier left and returned with a bunch of people. The staggering numbers made Kong Ming speechless.

This was especially so when he recognized some of them who had entered through another identity.

”It appears that you’re quite the strategist yourself.” Kong Ming looked at Xu Feng in a different light.

To discreetly plant so many people in his city was astonishing.

”Didn’t I also guide you once before regarding a business discussion?” He then turned to a familiar figure.

”Hehe, that’s right.” The person in question was none other than Stylish Shooter, aka Ning Yi.

”I’m really a businessman, though.” Ning Yi clarified that there was not much deception in his objective.

Kong Ming didn’t doubt the words because they had indeed received a lot of life-saving supplies from doing business with Ning Yi.

”Were those also under your Viscount’s order?”

”That’s right.” Ning Yi nodded and readily credited Xu Feng. ”The Guild Leader mentioned that Bardmon City is a critical defending city to suppress the Colossus’ army.”

A few seconds later, Xu Feng directly commanded his members to retrieve their supplies and to head to strategic points.

”The monsters are coming soon.” Xu Feng said solemnly.

”If you need to decide between your life and the soldiers, make sure to choose yourself over the soldiers. We have respawn points, but these soldiers don’t have a second chance.” He reminded them that they were ultimately an Immortal.

”Yes, Guild Leader!” In the blink of an eye, many elite members began to divide the work among themselves.

Their speed and action startled Kong Ming as he wondered if they were also a part of a military.

The disciplinary and uniformed actions were very similar.

”I’m glad my decision wasn’t wrong.” Kong Ming exhaled softly. He was indeed half gambling when he chose to pledge allegiance to Xu Feng.

Although he had also done his own set of investigations, what really convinced him was Olivia’s words.

He still recalled the time when Olivia appeared in front of him and told him to make his own judgment.

[This Immortal isn’t simple. It’s best not to antagonize him.]

Those were Olivia’s words, and Kong Ming must admit. The recent destruction in multiple cities more or less had something to do with Xu Feng.

Was it right in moral terms?

Absolutely not!

However, if considering the crimes that were listed in the document, then the deed was justified. These people didn’t deserve to live when they committed such a grave sin on the brink of humanity’s destruction.

BOOOM!

Right at this moment, a loud explosion suddenly occurred in the far distance.

DONG DONG DONG!

In the next seconds, sounds of the alarm bell being rung resounded all across the defense border.

”They’ve come.” Xu Feng muttered, his expression darkening slightly.
