Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1236: Press Conference

At the end of the sixth episode, Feng Qing Rou’s impression of the character improved significantly. ”Hmph, seems like she wasn’t going to be some ignorant and stupid character who will take years to realize scumbag.”

”I would have felt infuriated if she actually called him Bu Lai Senior and behaved in an intimate way with him.” Zhao Xin chimed in.

Although the character Bu Lai appeared dignified on the surface, his insidious thoughts were disgusting to the max.

It didn’t even take long for them to be completely hostile at Bu Lai and the Lethal Clan behind him.

Suddenly, Zhao Xin’s brows furrowed.

”Curses, this Vanguard Guild really knows how to meddle and sabotage their enemy.” She clicked her tongue and realized she had unknowingly started to become hostile toward the Lethal Corp.

Which one of them didn’t know the Lethal Clan was a direct resemblance of the Lethal Corp, aka Lethal Finance?

Feng Qing Rou’s body also jolted slightly.

She hurriedly took her phone and glanced at Lethal Finance’s stock.

”My goodness, their stocks are actually dwindling.” She exclaimed in disbelief.

Granted that the sixth episodes were limited to those with actual money and influence, it wasn’t surprising that the audience was capable of causing a company’s stocks to falter.

As Feng Qing Rou looked at their dwindling stocks, Zhao Xin went to the comment section. Her expression quickly turned ugly when she came to a horrifying realization of how deadly this short drama was.

”I bet the Lethal Finance would never see this coming...” Zhao Xin pursed her lips. For just a single episode with less than 2 minutes of screen time, it had actually incited the collective wealthy stockholders to sell their shares.

”Xin, check the latest financial news.” Feng Qing Rou suddenly shouted.

”The latest news?” Zhao Xin reluctantly switched tabs and checked the financial news.

As she opened the financial news, Lethal Finance Vice President, Francis Richards, actually took a stance.

”I’ve heard about the Vanguard Guild’s latest short drama production and how they claim their drama was an adaptation of their early journey. But I want to emphasize that the Lethal Corp under our company has nothing against the guild. I hope the audience can be reasonable and separate drama from reality.” Francis Richards announced.

Shortly after Francis said his piece, a reporter stood up and raised a question.

”Vice President Francis, does that mean the Vanguard Guild was exaggerating in their short drama? If so, will you attempt to sue for defamation?”

Francis’s expression turned slightly ugly.

What kind of question was that supposed to be?

’If I sue for defamation, then wouldn’t the company’s stocks continue to decrease?’ Francis cursed silently. Moreover, this kind of situation wouldn’t even warrant a lawsuit.

Rather than being successful in shutting down the Vanguard Guild’s short drama, they would, in return, increase attention and traffic for them.

All Francis could do now was try to downplay the situation and rely on his daughter to hopefully resolve the issue with the Vanguard Guild.

’That Brian is really a bane.’ Francis truly regretted letting Brian be in charge back then. His action in targeting the Vanguard Guild under the incitement from the Reaver Guild had truly caused them major headaches.

”I have no comments on that, but I must say. Reality and drama are two different entities. Neither I nor the Lethal Finance would sue the Vanguard Guild for defamation. Their short drama is entertaining, and my daughter’s a big fan. I also support their production and creativity.”

The press conference effectively ended with Francis basically saying that he supported the Vanguard Guild and had no intention of becoming hostile toward them whatsoever.

To back their point, Francis even shamelessly brought up his daughter to the front.

”Hah, a press conference simply to address the dwindling stocks because of the sixth episode. Calling this short drama a high reception is an understatement now.” Zhao Xin chuckled bitterly.

Had she known how popular and crazed the short drama would become, then she would have forcefully invested in one way or another.

”I definitely need to smack Kai once he returns. If I recall, he found himself a girlfriend. Then I’ll gladly ban him from having intimate contact with her as punishment, too.” Zhao Xin felt her blood boiling.

The loss of influence and revenue ached her deeply.

”What kind of evil intention are you thinking about now?” Feng Qing Rou moved her chair slightly away from Zhao Xin and asked.

”It’s not even directed at you.” Zhao Xin rolled her eyes.

How could she not know Feng Qing Rou was teasing her?

Moreover, with her intel, it was impossible for her to not know why she hadn’t invested in Xu Feng’s short drama production.

”Hehe, it might not be directed at me, but I’m still afraid of being collateral damage.” Feng Qing Rou stuck her tongue out.

”Just look at Vice President Francis. He wasn’t even the one who started the hostility against the Vanguard Guild, but because of his identity alone. He became collateral damage and had to open a press conference.”

”That’s only because he recruited incompetent people. Had he been smarter and recruited people who wouldn’t look down on others, then there wouldn’t have been this farce.”

”Agreed. Thinking back now, I’m really glad that I joined hands with the Vanguard Guild.” Feng Qing Rou giggled and wondered aloud, ”Maybe there will be some reference about my Silver Wind Guild soon. After all, we were their first collaborator, and given this is an adaptation, a Silver Wind Clan might appear in the next few episodes.”
