Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 508: Molten Core Eruption

While Lightning Blade felt relieved that he escaped danger, he also snickered inwardly at his other two comrades who were forced to hop down the platform, getting close to the perimeter of the Golem Sentinel.

ʼPhew, luckily I didnʼt need to jump down. As a swordsman, Iʼm just seeking my death by going into close combat when the boss is still powerful as heck.ʼ Lightning Blade patted his chest lightly.

The incident that occurred here was only for a brief 30 seconds in reality.

The boss battle between the rest hadnʼt stopped yet and was reaching its peak.

Gentle Wind, who had her eyes locked on the Damage Output list was extremely pleased to see at least 3 members of her were hogging the top 20.

Not too far behind her was Blake, who demonstrated swift and efficient buffing rotation commands for his guild.

Meanwhile, RavenKnight was somewhat displeased with his membersʼ Damage Output.

”Listen up, if we canʼt even maintain a few spots within the top 10, then our budget will be reduced. Do you wish to go back to eating cup ramen?” RavenKnight gazed at his members and asked solemnly.

Shortly after his question, the members of the Dark Legion Guild seemed to have taken some steroids.

Their aura and motivation burst forward as they all shouted and started blasting insane amounts of DPS toward the Golem Sentinel, who was busy targeting the Tanks that were trying to cover the Clerics.

Infuriated and annoyed at the pest constantly buzzing around, the Golem Sentinel roared and stomped heavily on the ground.

ʼItʼs happening!ʼ Almost instantly after its action, Xu Feng caught on to the Golem Sentinelʼs action, having confirmed that the second phase was starting now.

”Everyone retreated from the front immediately!” Despite giving such a command, Xu Feng was already praying for them.

Starting off the Molten Core Eruption second phase, was the damage reflection, directed back to the top 20 damage dealers.

Without a doubt, those at the top who dealt such an insane amount of damage were going to receive them back.

And it wasnʼt a blockable reflection!

In other words, the top 20 Damage Outputs in the list were going to face a guaranteed death.

Of course, Xu Feng could have told them to stop attacking so fiercely and patiently wait for the Sentinel to promptly commence the second phase voluntarily. y Virtual Library Empire

However, taking that path was time-consuming and Xu Feng didnʼt wish to reveal his knowledge regarding the boss too much. If push came to shove after the death of 20 players occurred, Xu Feng could simply shrug his shoulders and feign ignorance of the matter.

After all, who was going to know what would happen in the raid?

Naturally, there might be some criticism and skepticism still, such as why Carmen didnʼt attack the Sentinel, but an excuse could be made easily. The Elite Enemies surrounding the Sentinel were troublesome as well, so he wanted to get rid of them first.

With that as an excuse, who else could accuse him further even if they remain doubtful?

While Xu Feng was ready to witness 20 players getting wiped out with the phase change, the rest were not so much.

”W-What is the Boss doing?” Alarmed, Herald Fistʼs eyes narrowed as he watched the Golem Sentinel burning up.

”Self-destruct?” Ardent Lance was confused by the sight, having mistakenly thought the Sentinel had enough of its life and wanted to self-destruct to cause massive damage in retaliation.

Amidst the confusion, Gentle Wind felt something was amiss. She quickly raised her hands and ordered her subordinates to retreat.

”Everyone, back away from the Boss immediately.” She exclaimed.

Blake also did the same with his subordinates, trying to sound the retreat.

Toward an unknown action and confusing matter, the best option was to flee from the cause as far as possible. That way, they could slowly comprehend the situation from a safe distance.

Usually, such a decision would have been correct, but not in this particular case. Due to their greed to hog the Damage Output list, they had inevitably dug a hole for themselves to rest in.

With a nonchalant expression, Xu Feng patiently watched the Sentinel make all his fancy cosmetic moves.

If possible, Xu Feng really wanted to interrupt him and stop it. Unfortunately, it was unstoppable and if he dared to interrupt the Sentinel at the moment, then he would be embroiled in the damage reflection too.

20 players were already a big number to be sacrificed, so why should he add more to the equation?

”Raid Leader, are we going to be safe here?” Veronica furrowed her brows and asked nervously.

”Iʼm sure weʼre safe here,” Carmen answered without giving Xu Feng a chance.

”If we werenʼt, then he would have issued a command already.” She continued, feeling more worried for the others rather than herself.

There must have been a reason for Xu Feng to command her not to attack the Boss, and this might be precisely the reason.

Since her perception was rather high after advancing to Tier 1, she sensed that the top 20 players in the Damage Output had been hit with an invisible mark.

It was an intangible mark, but Carmen was positive that she might witness a large massacre once the Sentinel started changing its form, layering its stone structure with magma.

Sometime later, the Sentinel made a shrieking call as he extended its stone arm outward. Acting extremely cool and menacing, the Sentinel then clenched its stone hand, making a fist.

And before everyone could understand what was going on, the top 20 players in the Damage Output list found a small molten core next to their heart.

”What the heck is this?” One of the players exclaimed in shock.

”Wait a minute, how come you donʼt have it?” They then realized their companion didnʼt have any molten core.

”Huh? This is a molten core?” Amidst the commotion, Gentle Wind also noticed a molten core appearing in front of her chest. Very quickly, the molten core started to agitate and a brightening light began glowing.

KABOOM!

A chain of molten eruptions commenced all across the battle room, with many players screaming.

ʼAs expected. This is one perverse design of the boss.ʼ Xu Feng disdained whoever designed such a dungeon.
