Martial Arts, the Little Master of the Ancient Tomb, Becomes Stronger When You Drink

89: Chapter 89 Evening Breeze, Fine Wine, and Beautiful WomenBefore Dongfang Bai could reply, Su Xuan had already taken out two teacups, filled them with wine, and sat down on a nearby stone stool.

The words that had just reached Dongfang Bai’s lips were swallowed back. She shook her head, stepped forward with her jade-like feet, and sat on another stone stool.

Just as she sat down, a faint aroma of wine drifted into her delicate nose.

Dongfang Bai’s beautiful eyes brightened slightly, ”This wine...”

”Try it first.” Su Xuan placed a teacup filled with wine in front of Dongfang Bai, gesturing with one hand.

Dongfang Bai didn’t stand on ceremony either. She picked up the wine cup and downed it in one gulp.

”Cough, cough...”

The moment the wine passed her throat, it was filled with a spicy heat.

It was her first time drinking such a strong, spicy wine, and she had drunk it too hastily.

For a moment, Dongfang Bai couldn’t help but let out two light coughs, looking somewhat disheveled.

”Pfft~” Seeing Dongfang Bai like this for the first time, Su Xuan couldn’t help but burst into laughter, ”Hahahaha, why are you in such a hurry? This isn’t ordinary wine; it’s much stronger than what you usually drink!”

”Why didn’t you say so earlier?” Dongfang Bai complained after recovering.

”You didn’t ask! Hahahaha...”

”You... you’re still laughing!?”

After this little interlude, the atmosphere between Su Xuan and Dongfang Bai eased considerably, no longer as stiff as before.

Dongfang Bai pursed her lips, savoring the aftertaste.

Although the wine was spicy upon entering the mouth, it lasted only for a moment.

After it settled in her stomach, she could still feel a hint of sweetness, truly leaving an endless aftertaste.

Dongfang Bai’s jade-like hand hovered before the teacup, lightly tapping it twice.

”Tap, tap”

Su Xuan grinned, ”What, want more?”

”Pour it!”

Su Xuan restrained his smile, picked up the gourd, and was just about to pour wine for Dongfang Bai.

Suddenly, the gourd in his hand was snatched away by Dongfang Bai, ”Quit dawdling! I’ll do it myself!”

With that, she poured herself a full, large cup. After pouring, she placed the gourd beside her.

Su Xuan shrugged, said nothing, and simply rested his chin in his hands, quietly watching.

This time, Dongfang Bai wasn’t in a hurry. She picked up the cup, took a small sip first. As the wine settled, the spiciness faded, and the sweetness followed.

Dongfang Bai’s beautiful eyes couldn’t help but brighten, a flicker of wonder passing through them, ”Truly excellent wine!”

Su Xuan smiled slightly, ”I didn’t lie to you, did I?”

Dongfang Bai didn’t refute. She glanced at the untouched wine in Su Xuan’s teacup, ”Why aren’t you drinking?”

Hearing this, Su Xuan picked up his cup, took a small sip, then set it down again, ”I drank a bit too much earlier. I’ll have less; you have more.”

Su Xuan sensed that something was off with Dongfang Bai’s mood.

Although she appeared casual on the surface, no different from usual.

The faint trace of sorrow at the corner of her eyes couldn’t escape his notice.

Somehow, Su Xuan unconsciously felt a desire to protect her.

This feeling was strange and came suddenly. Su Xuan himself didn’t understand why.

In this world, aside from his mother, his Master, Long’er, and Mochou, no one had ever made him feel this way on the very first day of meeting.

Even Huang Rong and Gongsun Lüe hadn’t back then.

If it was liking, it wasn’t quite that yet; it could only be considered having a feeling.

At the very least, Su Xuan dared to affirm that he had developed an interest in the woman before him.

(Author’s note: Pah! You’re just attracted to her looks! Stop pretending to be noble?!)

Dongfang Bai rolled her eyes prettily, pouted, and said, ”Not drinking and still pouring?! With such a small gourd, it’s not even enough for me alone.”

As if afraid Su Xuan would compete with her for it, Dongfang Bai moved the gourd a bit closer to her side.

Seeing this, a hint of amusement flashed in Su Xuan’s eyes, and a playful urge stirred within him, ”Don’t be fooled by its size. You won’t finish it tonight.”

A flicker of doubt crossed Dongfang Bai’s gaze. She picked up the nearby gourd, gauging its weight.

Immediately, a look that seemed to say ’Do I look like a fool to you?’ appeared on her lovely face.

Su Xuan had been waiting for this. He lifted his chin slightly, ”If you don’t believe me, how about we make a bet?”

”A bet?”

”Yes!” Su Xuan nodded, ”Let’s bet on whether you can finish that gourd of wine tonight. How about it?”

”Hmm... what’s the wager?”

Su Xuan thought for a moment, ”One condition. If you finish, I’ll agree to one condition from you. If you don’t, you agree to one condition from me.”

Dongfang Bai was no fool. How could there be such a sure-win bet?

So, she first checked the gourd’s weight again. After confirming it, she asked suspiciously, ”You’re not planning something tricky, are you? Or is there something wrong with the wine?”

Dongfang Bai’s sparkling eyes were filled with distrust.

”How could that be?” Su Xuan spread his hands, ”Am I that kind of person? Besides, I drank it too!”

Seeing Dongfang Bai still didn’t believe him, Su Xuan added, ”I promise, this bet is solely about you drinking the wine. No tricks. If I break my word, I’ll concede defeat immediately.”

Seeing Su Xuan so earnest, though Dongfang Bai still had some doubts in her heart, she agreed, ”Alright then, it’s settled.”

Anyway, she wasn’t in a great mood right now, and having encountered such fine wine, it was just perfect that no one was competing with her for it.

And so...

One cup, two cups, three cups, four cups...

Nine cups, ten cups, eleven cups, twelve cups...

Nineteen cups, twenty cups, twenty-one cups...

After several rounds of drinking...

”Burp~” Dongfang Bai covered her slightly swollen belly, unable to suppress a hiccup.

Dongfang Bai was drinking straight, not using her Internal Energy to counteract the alcohol.

With so much wine in her stomach, a faint flush of drunkenness rose on Dongfang Bai’s cheeks.

Traces of wine trickled down her fair, tender neck, slipping into her collar—extremely alluring.

A crescent moon, a sky full of stars.

Evening breeze, fine wine, a beauty—this feeling was truly wonderful.

Su Xuan stopped Dongfang Bai’s jade-like hand as she reached for more, ”That’s about enough. Don’t drink anymore.”

Dongfang Bai shook off Su Xuan’s large hand and raised the cup to her lips.

Seeing this, Su Xuan simply snatched the cup away, ”Alright, alright, you win, okay? Stop drinking!”

”What do you mean, ’sort of’?” Dongfang Bai tried to grab the cup back.

Su Xuan directly picked up the cup, along with his own and the nearby teapot and cups, and threw them far away.

When Dongfang Bai went for the wine gourd, Su Xuan snatched it again and tossed it into the system space.

Looking at the now empty tabletop, Dongfang Bai rolled her eyes prettily, ”Tch, Sister Lin was right. You’re just stingy, not even letting someone have a drink.”

After saying this, Dongfang Bai let out a long sigh, even her exhaled breath carrying a faint scent of alcohol.

A gentle evening breeze blew by, ruffling Dongfang Bai’s hair.

It had been a long time since she felt so relaxed. The last time was probably when Sister Lin watched the stars with her.

Resting her jade-like hand under her fair chin and leaning on the stone table, Dongfang Bai said calmly, ”However, your gourd really holds a lot. So small, yet it contained so much wine.”

Although surprised in her heart, the feeling dissipated after a moment.

After all, for someone who could materialize things out of thin air, having a gourd that could hold a lot wasn’t too strange.

Dongfang Bai pouted, gazing at the distant scenery, ”No need for you to concede. You won. So, what condition do you want?”

A flicker of amusement passed through Su Xuan’s eyes. He thought for a moment and said, ”I haven’t decided yet. I’ll tell you another day.”

”Suit yourself.” Dongfang Bai replied very casually.
