The Calamity Beast is Strong? I Just Filled in the Stats Randomly!

36: Chapter 36 is him? He’s clearly not strong.Beep beep beep beep beep beep.

A massive semi-trailer truck stopped in front of the gate of Dongcheng University.

Out of the cab of the truck stepped two beautiful girls and one youth nobody cared about.

At this time, the orientation senior brothers and sisters were already waiting inside the school.

There were shuttle buses at the school entrance to transport new students back and forth across the campus.

The three didn’t linger; the semi-trailer just stopped by the roadside, and the three walked straight into the campus.

”Hey, where is Pei Ruanruan? Didn’t she say she would come pick you up?”

Fang Xun looked around, noticing that after entering, there were small stalls everywhere with banners hanging up.

Under the square-shaped tents, everyone was processing campus cards.

The few stalls that weren’t for cards were surprisingly selling quilts.

This scene instantly brought back Fang Xun’s fond college memories.

When he first enrolled, there was a senior from the same Art College selling quilts. At that time, his quilts cost four hundred yuan a set.

Fang Xun hadn’t thought much of it back then, thinking that having such a set of quilts for four years of college wouldn’t be bad.

As a result, those shoddy quilts almost dyed him into a little blue man. In the end, he washed the bedding in the sink several times, and the water was still blue.

Those broken quilts could be bought online for less than fifty yuan a set, and they didn’t even fade.

Fang Xun would remember this incident for his entire life.

This was the first lesson Fang Xun learned after enrolling in college.

Never trust a senior brother easily.

So, seeing these stalls, Fang Xun immediately showed a look of disdain, ’Hmph.’

As for the phone campus cards, that was the second lesson Fang Xun learned.

”Brother, the senior over there is waving at us! Hey, they’re giving away a free phone with the card!” Jiang Qin blinked.

”Don’t believe them, these people are all scoundrels.”

Fang Xun pulled Jiang Qin and quickly walked past these scoundrels:

”Don’t believe those ’discounts’ for junior brothers and sisters; all discounts are meant to fleece something out of you. The wool comes from the sheep.”

”But he said the phone is free, and the card is free to get!” Jiang Qin was drawn back by the shouting from behind.

”Hmph, a trick.”

Fang Xun didn’t look back, directly pulling the two girls away from that place of trouble.

However, Tang Xiaotang, walking behind Fang Xun, kept looking back, clearly very interested in the ’free phone’ promotion.

”Eh.” Fang Xun suddenly remembered something.

”Right, Xiao Tang, you drove the semi-trailer, do you have the license for it?”

”Nope.” Tang Xiaotang blinked: ”I only have a C1 driver’s license.”

”Oh, don’t worry, even if we get caught, it’s just nine points deducted and a two-thousand fine. I have plenty of points! After deducting these nine points, I still have one point left as a buffer!”

”Wait, is that how driver’s license points are used?” Fang Xun was shocked.

”Should I save them until they gather dust?” Tang Xiaotang asked strangely.

”...Just wait, you’ll cry when they’re all deducted,” Fang Xun gritted his teeth.

He had points too, but he didn’t have a car.

Those points were truly just waiting to gather dust.

This was definitely not Fang Xun’s jealousy; this was Fang Xun’s condemnation of Tang Xiaotang’s disregard for traffic laws!

Fang Xun kept staring at the map on his phone while leading the two girls toward the Art College.

After walking a short distance, they saw several banners for the Art College hanging at the orientation point ahead.

One of them was for the Animation Department.

Under the banner sat a few young men and women, presumably the Counselors and senior students responsible for receiving the Animation Department freshmen.

”Hey, Senior Ruan Ruan is really here. She’s actually our Counselor.”

”Oh?” Fang Xun looked closely, and it really was Pei Ruanruan.

Not only Pei Ruanruan, but also Zhang Tianci and Wang Kaixin.

Those two were sitting on chairs next to Pei Ruanruan, not knowing if they were slacking off or spacing out.

Soon, the group walked to the banner.

At this moment, Pei Ruanruan was very seriously helping the male student in front of her register.

It really looked like she was doing her job properly.

”Senior Ruan Ruan.”

After the student took his meal card and left, the group gathered over.

”You’re here!” Pei Ruanruan saw the group and quickly waved.

”Come over and keep me company for a while. We have too few freshmen in the Animation Department; I’m bored to death just sitting here. I shouldn’t have taken on this Counselor job.”

”No wonder Sister Ruan Ruan didn’t come out to meet us,” Jiang Qin expressed understanding.

”Tsk, I’ve prepared all your registration Materials. Just sign your names to collect them and head straight to the dorms. I’ve already arranged for you two to be together.

You have two more roommates, they are...” Pei Ruanruan said, pulling out her phone to look at the list and flipping through it: ”Shen Yue, and... Qi Lian? Huh, did I remember wrong? I remember the name was something else before. Never mind, it’s Shen Yue and Qi Lian anyway. It’s all pretty much the same.”

After Pei Ruanruan finished speaking, she waved at the two:

”Go on, go on. Remember to come back and find me when you settle in.”

”Okay, Sister Ruan Ruan, we’ll be right back.”

Saying this, the group said goodbye to Pei Ruanruan, Zhang Tianci, and Wang Kaixin, and headed towards the dormitory building.

Not long after, standing in front of the girls’ dormitory building, Fang Xun couldn’t help but sigh.

This was probably his only chance to enter a dormitory building.

”Brother, don’t look around randomly.”

After registering their names and entering, Jiang Qin immediately warned him.

”I promise not to look around randomly!” Fang Xun patted his chest emphatically.

It’s just a girls’ dormitory, what’s there to see?

Then, the group went up to the fourth floor of Dormitory Building No. 3 together.

In fact, there really wasn’t much to see.

The students were already divided by grade level.

Dormitory Building No. 3 was entirely occupied by arriving freshmen, so there were naturally no sudden romantic encounters or anything.

When they reached Room 406 on the fourth floor, the door was slightly ajar.

Fang Xun pushed the door open and saw a youthful-looking girl sitting very properly at a desk.

She only looked up at him when she saw Fang Xun enter.

Fang Xun felt a bit at a loss in this situation.

Just as he was about to say hello, the two girls behind him squeezed in.

Instantly, the four of them looked at each other.

”You’ve arrived early. You’ve already made your beds.”

It was Jiang Qin who spoke first, greeting the girl sitting on the bed.

”Mm.”

The girl nodded slightly, still looking at the group.

However, Fang Xun felt like he had an illusion that this girl was paying special attention to him.

Was this one of life’s three great illusions?

”I’m Fang Jiangqin, what’s your name?” Jiang Qin looked at her own bed. She hadn’t brought anything, so she naturally missed the step of making the bed.

”I’m Tang Xiaotang!” Tang Xiaotang also introduced herself enthusiastically from the side.

”I’m Fang Xun, I’m Fang Jiangqin’s brother.”

”My name is Qi Lian.”

Only after Fang Xun finished speaking did Qi Lian look at the group and speak with a hint of hesitation:

”From now on, we are roommates.”

”That’s right, that’s right!” Tang Xiaotang nodded vigorously: ”Ah, we should have brought quilts. The bed boards are completely bare right now.”

Tang Xiaotang pondered for a moment, then made a call.

”Dad, I don’t have any quilts at school. Hey, my best friend doesn’t either. Send two sets over!”

Tang Datang readily agreed to this matter.

Before Tang Xiaotang even hung up the phone, several burly men in black suits entered, carrying bedding and many bags.

”Young Miss, where should we put the things?”

Tang Xiaotang’s eyes widened at the sight:

”Wait, you guys! Tang Datang sent you to follow me again!”

”The Boss is just concerned about the Young Miss,” the leading burly man said respectfully.

”We’ve driven the semi-trailer away, and your little green car is parked downstairs. Chen Liang drove it over wearing a full set of protective gear. It definitely hasn’t been touched, don’t worry.”

”...Forget it... Make the beds. I’ll fight with Tang Datang when I get back!”

Tang Xiaotang said angrily.

”By the way, Young Miss, the Boss also prepared gifts for your roommates. Look...” The burly man pointed to several exquisite tote bags following behind them.

”Put them there, I’ll deliver them right away!”

”Understood.”

The men in suits quickly and skillfully made the beds for Jiang Qin and Tang Xiaotang, leaving the three tote bags and retreating at high speed.

Tang Xiaotang glanced at the tote bags. Without looking inside, she first gave one to Jiang Qin.

”Qin Qin Qin Qin, you take this first.”

After giving one to Jiang Qin, Tang Xiaotang took another tote bag and handed it to Qi Lian, who was sitting at the desk.

”Roommate, here’s one for you.”

She placed the last bag directly on the desk of the empty bed.

By this time, Fang Xun was already looking into the tote bags with great curiosity.

He really wanted to know what kind of gift Tang Xiaotang’s rich father would send.

”What are all these?” Fang Xun glanced over.

”Let’s look, they should be good stuff,” Tang Xiaotang said dismissively.

Jiang Qin hesitated for a moment, then sat down and took out the contents of the tote bag.

Fang Xun glanced over and exclaimed in shock:

”Holy crap, is this the latest iPhoneProMax from Apple? And the latest 13-inch iPadPro! And the 16-inch MacBook Pro! What? No? Huh?”

Jiang Qin looked at the gifts, somewhat at a loss.

It was true that the Special Affairs Bureau had rewarded her with one million yuan. But these three items alone must be worth over a hundred thousand yuan?

If she suddenly had to spend a hundred thousand yuan, she would definitely be reluctant to buy these.

”Sis, this phone is inconvenient without a charging brick, let’s swap it out,” Fang Xun said, looking at the iPhone while putting his arm around his sister’s shoulder.

”These were given by Xiao Tang.” Jiang Qin glanced at the contents, carefully packed them up, and placed them on the desk.

Gifts from others naturally couldn’t be casually given to others, even her own brother.

On the other side, Qi Lian also accepted the gift.

”Thank you.”

Qi Lian looked at the item Tang Xiaotang gave her, stood up, and said thank you very formally.

Fang Xun looked at her and felt something was a bit strange.

This classmate didn’t seem very good at communicating with people; was she a bit socially withdrawn?

Just then, the dormitory door was pushed open again.

A girl with a high ponytail pushed the door and walked in.

”Oh, you’re all here. You’re all so early. I’m Shen Yue.”

After Shen Yue arrived, the group introduced themselves again.

The four people in this room were now all present.

”Hey, Shen Yue. There’s a gift for you on the desk. It’s for you, remember to take it,” Tang Xiaotang reminded her.

”Oh? Thank you.” Shen Yue blinked at the bag and thanked Tang Xiaotang.

She didn’t think it was a particularly valuable item, after all, it was just the beginning of the school year.

She had brought local specialties too.

”Oh, I almost forgot. I’ll go up first to check; my parents are still downstairs. I’ll go down for a moment and be right back!”

Shen Yue said, then bustled out the door downstairs.

Seeing this, Jiang Qin and Tang Xiaotang said goodbye to Qi Lian and pulled Fang Xun to leave.

Pei Ruanruan was still waiting downstairs.

”Let’s go, Qi Lian! We’ll be back later!”

With that, the three of them walked out the door.

Just as Fang Xun was gently closing the door, he saw Qi Lian looking at him again with a very serious expression.

But as soon as Fang Xun noticed, Qi Lian immediately retracted her gaze.

Was she just watching them leave, or was she really staring at him?

While following the two girls downstairs, Fang Xun couldn’t help but recall Qi Lian’s gaze.

”Do you guys think Qi Lian is a little weird?” Fang Xun asked the two girls beside him.

”Brother, do you want me to help you get her contact information?” Tang Xiaotang suggested.

”That could work.” Fang Xun thought it was a good idea.

”Hmph.” Jiang Qin snorted, unwilling to speak.

Her brother must be fantasizing about scenes from a gala game. Something about his sister’s roommate.

Disgusting.

When going downstairs, the group happened to run into Shen Yue’s parents.

They were a pair of kind-looking middle-aged couple, whose eyes were filled with love for their daughter.

After greeting the couple, the group continued on.

Not long after, they arrived back at the Art College’s orientation point.

At this time, Pei Ruanruan was greeting another group of freshmen and their parents.

Zhang Tianci and Wang Kaixin were still actively helping move luggage.

Fang Xun pondered for a moment: ”Alright, I’ve seen everything here. You guys go hang out with Pei Ruanruan. I should head home.”

”Brother, aren’t you going to walk around Dongcheng University with us for a couple of laps?” Tang Xiaotang asked, holding Jiang Qin’s hand with anticipation in her voice.

Of course, Fang Xun could see Tang Xiaotang’s little thought, and he didn’t misunderstand it at all.

Tang Xiaotang was just looking forward to Jiang Qin being able to hang out without him, that big oaf, tagging along.

”Yes, I’m planning to go home.” Fang Xun smacked his lips; he really didn’t feel like hanging out.

”Goodbye, Brother!” Tang Xiaotang waved quickly.

”Brother, be safe,” Jiang Qin also said.

”Alright, alright, safety, safety, don’t worry.” Fang Xun also waved and walked straight towards the school gate.

However, as he was leaving, Fang Xun unconsciously glanced back again.

It felt like someone had been watching him just now.

But Fang Xun didn’t see anyone.

”Heh, that’s strange.”

...

...

On the fourth floor of the Art College girls’ dormitory building, a girl with delicate features stared fixedly out the window at the rather shabby-looking back receding below.

”It’s him. But, I can’t sense anything. Why?”
