The Calamity Beast is Strong? I Just Filled in the Stats Randomly!

17: Chapter 17 The Little Monster’s Last Summer.”Wei Heng! Where the hell is your ammunition?”

Lu Li’s communication device hovered near her ear.

Even with the composure she had painstakingly cultivated, it was difficult to speak to her superior without agitation.

Lu Li controlled the Alchemical Matrix; she was the strongest here, but also the most stationary.

The Alchemical Matrix she controlled was the last line of defense here.

Every single creature that slipped through needed her to clean up the mess.

But this also meant she could only watch helplessly as her subordinates rushed to the front lines.

”Didn’t the test succeed already? Did you eat all the stone powder?”

”Wait a moment, it’s already being sent over, the newest batch.”

On the other end of the line, although Wei Heng heard the curse, he wasn’t angry.

He just cautioned, ”Use it sparingly. Mass production only started last night. Do you see it? The helicopter.”

”I see it.”

Lu Li nodded. A helicopter was indeed flying toward them, carrying a massive metal container.

Beneath this helicopter, the ’slugs’ had already sensed the danger; they were launching themselves, intending to swarm the helicopter.

”Yu Zheng, go receive the ammunition!”

Seeing this, Lu Li immediately began giving orders to the mecha hovering beside her.

At this moment, the mecha dared not move rashly, fearing that this precious item would be destroyed here.

Mechas weren’t good at dealing with these ’slugs,’ but that didn’t mean they weren’t useful for other tasks.

”Yes!”

Yu Zheng was scratching his head, wondering what use he even had right now. Hearing Lu Li assign him a task, he eagerly hurried off.

”Ah, Sister, too late.”

Just as Yu Zheng was about to move, a tentacle shot into the sky, directly smashing the metal container mid-air.

Although the tentacle was also blown off, relative to its enormous body, it was nothing more than a scratch.

Lu Li’s gaze sharpened, and she took a deep breath.

At this distance, her Psionic Power couldn’t be brought to bear.

”What’s the use of you? First, pilot the mecha to another testing site and bring back a few members of the Psionic Power Squad.”

”Oh.”

Yu Zheng slumped his mouth dejectedly. In the current situation, he didn’t even have a stable footing, so bringing back squad members capable of piloting Spiritual Energy Armor indeed made more sense.

But just then...

Several members of the Seventh Squad were successively whipped away by that tentacle, some even ejecting from their Spiritual Energy Armor mid-air.

Seeing the state of her team members, Lu Li immediately grew anxious.

”Yu Zheng, go help first! Hold on for as long as you can!”

”Yes!”

Yu Zheng accepted the order, the energy sparks on his back spitting fire as he charged directly toward the Disaster Beast.

His mecha was just an old model; it didn’t even have a shield generator. He would hold on as long as he could.

As for combat damage?

To hell with it.

Whatever Big Sister says, goes.

As Yu Zheng charged toward the Disaster Beast waving its tentacles, Lu Li concentrated, trying to extend her Psionic Power.

However, the effective range of her Psionic Power could extend at most a hundred meters.

Any further, and her strength failed.

Now, she could only watch as her team members plummeted from a hundred meters up, smashing onto the ground.

That was flesh and blood.

Lu Li wanted to close her eyes, unwilling to look at the horrific scene anymore.

The casualty rate among squad members had always been the highest.

New Spiritual Energy Armor compatible users were supplemented annually, but the number of squad members had hardly ever increased.

Why...

Why was this happening...

Suddenly, Lu Li’s trembling heart paused for half a beat.

”Stop.”

One word, yet it seemed to freeze time and space.

The squad members who were falling rapidly suddenly halted in mid-air, their clothes seemingly frozen in place.

Lu Li’s eyelashes fluttered. Who?

Who had arrived?

Gently, very gently, a few strands of hair drifted past and swayed near the few people, then suddenly transformed into several phantom human shapes. These phantom shapes caught the people and set them down on the ground before dissipating.

Yu Zheng hadn’t noticed this anomaly. He only knew that his maneuverability was unbelievably good; he had actually bypassed the defensive line formed by layers of tentacles and charged directly in front of the Disaster Beast.

”Hahahaha! Take this slash!”

The slash landed, splashing pale blue blood plasma, and even one of the tentacles several meters thick was severed directly.

Seeing this, Yu Zheng’s Aura surged, and just as he was about to press the attack, he heard Lu Li’s voice.

”Yu Zheng, come back.”

Hearing this, Yu Zheng didn’t hesitate. The flame from his mecha’s palm spat out, interrupting his previous action, forcing him to retreat abruptly.

”Sister, what’s wrong, Sister?”

Only after retreating did Yu Zheng ask the question.

But as soon as Yu Zheng asked, he was sent flying by a tentacle strike. Under that immense force, his armor nearly disintegrated.

But even so, Yu Zheng could hear the metal of his armor emitting a grating sound of distortion.

In just one blow, half of his armor was already scrap.

”How is this possible?” Yu Zheng was shocked. He had clearly been moving as if through an unmanned zone just moments ago; how could the situation reverse so quickly?

If that were the case, he shouldn’t have even been able to get close to the Disaster Beast just now.

”Look down.”

At this moment, Yu Zheng had arrived within the range Lu Li could control.

She pulled Yu Zheng to her side, pointed at the smoke-filled ground, and whispered softly:

”Someone has arrived.”

Yu Zheng looked down as he heard her.

He saw two antennae, resembling those of a cockroach, slowly emerging from the smoke.

That’s... a cockroach?

No, that’s not right.

Next, a person wearing a Great Sage mask, a pheasant feather on his head, draped in a red cloak, and holding a red staff walked out of the smoke.

”Who? A monkey?”

Yu Zheng was stunned. How could someone possibly appear here at a time like this?

Yu Zheng activated the mecha’s scanning System, but the person was too heavily disguised to be identified.

But he was definitely not one of the Special Affairs Bureau personnel.

”Let’s watch first.”

Lu Li looked at the person wearing the Great Sage mask and was reminded of the Great Senior who had helped Jiang Qin twice. Could it be him?

After this person appeared, the atmosphere instantly became increasingly heavy.

The Disaster Beast named ’Rampage’ seemed to sense an unsettling Aura, and its tentacles swayed unconsciously.

Those ’slugs’ had turned around and were all staring at Fang Xun.

In their eyes, everyone else was no longer important.

The person before them was the greatest threat.

The ’Rampage’ raised and lowered its tentacles, hesitating to strike.

Danger, danger, and more danger.

Step... step... step...

Fang Xun walked with light steps, but each sound seemed to strike heavily against everyone’s chest.

Everyone’s gaze was now focused on him.

Or rather, on the Great Sage.

Fang Xun was not surprised by this.

As long as the Great Sage appeared, he was bound to be the focus of everyone’s attention.

”Who goes there? State your name.”

Fang Xun continued to walk slowly, positioning himself between the Disaster Beast and the school.

In front of him was the behemoth towering over ten stories high, and behind him were the children still taking the college entrance exam, along with the soldiers who were already exhausted.

He paused, and Fang Xun smiled.

”Turns out, just a little monster that hasn’t fully transformed. But since you dare to harm people, then you must die.”
