The World's Richest Man: Start with the Daily Intelligence System

212: Chapter 212 Taking Down Qiao Shanzhou”The most crucial thing is still that maitreya buddha statue! Zuo Ming, send someone immediately to keep an eye on this man named Zhang Wei. No matter the cost, you must get that maitreya buddha statue back for me!” Qiao Shanzhou’s voice carried a hint of anger.

Zuo Ming felt a bitterness in his heart; he knew Qiao Shanzhou’s temperament—once an order was given, it had to be executed. He nodded and said, ”Chairman Qiao, I will arrange for someone to handle it as soon as possible.”

Zhang Wei sat in the large chair of his study, gently fiddling with the maitreya buddha statue, his eyes revealing a trace of deep thought. Through the Intelligence System, he learned that the address written on the slip of paper hidden inside the maitreya buddha statue was exactly where Meng Changshu had hidden the financial records of the past two years. This was a key clue, enough to bring down the entire Shenzhou Group.

He picked up his phone and dialed Zuo Hemei’s number. Once the call connected, he smiled slightly and said, ”Captain Zuo, long time no see.”

Zuo Hemei’s voice came from the other end, carrying a bit of helplessness and teasing: ”You’ve only been quiet for a few days; which power have you provoked this time?”

Zhang Wei smiled slightly and said, ”This matter is quite significant; it involves the internal secrets of the Shenzhou Group. I need your help.”

Zuo Hemei was silent for a moment, then said, ”Tell me, what’s going on?”

Zhang Wei began to explain in detail, from Meng Changshu’s death to the slip of paper inside the maitreya buddha statue. He said, ”I suspect the address on the paper inside that maitreya buddha statue is the location where Meng Changshu hid important documents. It’s also something Qiao Shanzhou, the chairman of Shenzhou Group, is desperate to get. So, Captain Zuo, I need the support of the police force.”

Zuo Hemei listened and pondered for a moment, then said, ”This clue is very important, but also very dangerous. Arrests and sending people are no problem. However, you have to explain the plan to me clearly first.”

Zhang Wei nodded and said, ”I plan to use the police force to conduct a raid on that address, while also arranging personnel to monitor the movements of Zuo Ming and Qiao Shanzhou, to prevent them from learning the news in advance and reacting.”

Zuo Hemei listened intently, occasionally interjecting to ask about details. Finally, they finalized the action plan, including personnel arrangements, timing, and contingency plans for emergencies.

After hanging up the phone, Zuo Hemei immediately gathered the core members of the police force and held an emergency meeting. In the conference room, the atmosphere was tense and serious as everyone listened carefully to Zuo Hemei’s deployment.

”We have received an important lead involving the internal secrets of the Shenzhou Group. According to existing information, Meng Changshu has died abroad, and the important financial records of the Shenzhou Group he held might be hidden at a certain address. Our mission is to conduct a raid and ensure the security of those documents.”

The team members nodded one after another, expressing their understanding. Zuo Hemei continued, ”The operation is set for this afternoon. We will split into two teams: one responsible for the raid, and the other for monitoring the movements of Qiao Shanzhou and Zuo Ming. Everyone must cooperate closely to ensure the success of the operation.”

The team members accepted their orders and began preparing the equipment and information needed for the operation.

Only then did Zhang Wei leisurely pick up his phone and reply to that unknown text message: ”If you are truly sincere, I will wait for Mr. Zuo at the usual place at three o’clock this afternoon.” The other party replied quickly: ”Alright, we will be there on time.”

Zhang Wei’s mind was as clear as a mirror. He arrived early at the teahouse downstairs, found a seat by the window, ordered a pot of good tea, and then quietly waited for the other party’s arrival.

Not far from him, Zuo Hemei and the police team members were already in ambush, waiting for the fish to take the bait.

At exactly three o’clock, two men in black suits walked into the teahouse, one of whom was the middle-aged Zuo Ming. They looked around, saw Zhang Wei, and walked over. After sitting down, Zuo Ming spoke: ”Mr. Zhang, I am very interested in that ceramic maitreya buddha statue in your hands and am willing to offer 800,000 yuan for it. I hope you will consider it.”

Zhang Wei sneered inwardly; he knew these people were more interested in the secret inside the maitreya buddha statue. He smiled slightly and said, ”Mr. Zuo’s offer is indeed tempting, but I would like to know, why is Mr. Zuo so interested in this maitreya buddha statue?”

Zuo Ming also smiled slightly and said, ”Mr. Zhang, to be honest, a good friend of mine has recently been studying ceramics and jade from the Qing Dynasty imperial kilns, and this maitreya buddha statue holds significant research value for him. We are willing to pay a high price in hopes that it can assist with my friend’s research.”

Zhang Wei sneered to himself, knowing this was merely an excuse. He deliberately hesitated for a moment and then said, ”Mr. Zuo’s offer is indeed tempting, but Mr. Zuo, do you know that there is a mechanism on the belly of this maitreya buddha statue that can be opened?”

Upon hearing this, Zuo Ming’s eyes widened, thinking: Oh no, Zhang Wei has already discovered it. He quickly calmed himself and asked, ”Mr. Zhang, what’s inside?”

Zhang Wei said slowly, ”An address.” Before Zuo Ming could react, the police hidden all around rushed out, quickly and forcefully apprehending Zuo Ming and his companion.

Zuo Hemei stepped forward and calmly commanded, ”Take them in, and don’t alert the others.”

On a winter afternoon, the sun made people feel lazy, but Zhonggu Road was bustling with activity, with four or five police cars parked haphazardly.

Vice Captain Zhang Fuzhe, an experienced veteran, stood by the warehouse, his eyes like a hawk’s as he directed the team members to dig up the ground inch by inch, as if they were performing an archaeological excavation.

”Hey! Over here! Come and look!” Suddenly, a young police officer shouted at the top of his lungs, the sound echoing several times in the empty warehouse before dying down.

Hearing this, Zhang Fuzhe bounded over like a rabbit. He saw that the team had indeed dug a sizable hole, revealing the edge of a document box inside.

”Slow down, slow down, don’t damage the evidence; we’re counting on this to make the arrests!” Zhang Fuzhe quickly urged.

The team members carefully dug out the document boxes as if they were handling eggs. Zhang Fuzhe took one and gently lifted the lid. Wow, his eyes nearly popped out; it was filled with documents, stacked neatly, with ”Shenzhou Group Financial Records” written clearly on the cover—the large characters shining brightly and bringing a sense of clarity to his heart.

”Haha, this is exactly what we were looking for! Qiao Shanzhou, you won’t get away this time!” Zhang Fuzhe was delighted, his face beaming with joy.

”Captain, we’ve counted them; there are twenty boxes in total!” a team member nearby said excitedly.

”Take them all, leave nothing behind!” Zhang Fuzhe waved his hand grandly, his demeanor as if he were about to haul away the entire warehouse.
