Teaming Up with My Enemy to Rule the Apocalypse

In the bedroom.

Sierra Sullivan sat in the bathtub, enveloped by the hot water. She let out a long, comfortable sigh.

She had been out for three days, her nerves on edge every single moment.

It had only been three days, but looking back, it felt like she had been through an incredible amount.

While she wasn’t exhausted, mind and body, she was genuinely tired.

Sierra didn’t get out of the tub until her stomach started to growl.

After changing into comfortable, clean clothes and giving her hair a quick towel-dry, Sierra headed out.

As soon as she entered the living room, she saw Jayce, shirtless, drying his hair.

They stood facing each other. Their eyes met, but neither spoke a word.

Sierra blinked. ”Why... are you not wearing a shirt?”

It wasn’t even May yet, and with the constant sandstorms, the weather wasn’t just not hot—it was actually a bit cold.

She herself was wearing not only a knit shirt but a jacket as well.

And then there was Jayce... ’He actually has an eight-pack!’

’Not only does he have an eight-pack, but he also has those two sexy V-lines. It’s a shame they disappear into his pants.’

’He has such broad shoulders, so how is his waist so narrow?’

While Sierra was still staring intently, Jayce was already walking toward her, one step at a time.

Jayce stopped when they were nearly face-to-face.

”What are you looking at, Sierra?”

”At how narrow your waist is!”

The moment the words left her mouth, Sierra realized what she had said, and her cheeks instantly flushed red.

’This is just...’

’Beauty really is a distraction!’

’How could I say something like that?!’

Sierra lifted her eyes and peeked at Jayce, only to find him watching her with a smile playing on his lips.

He said nothing, yet his expression seemed to hold a thousand words.

”Don’t just look, Sierra.”

”Huh?”

”You can touch, too!”

His voice was very low.

It lacked its usual clear, youthful quality.

Instead, it was filled with an inexplicable charm.

It took a moment for Sierra to catch on, but she still asked, ”Are you... trying to seduce me?”

Jayce chuckled, leaning in to press his forehead against Sierra’s.

”Well, Sierra, have I succeeded?”

”With such a beautiful sight before me, wouldn’t it be a waste if I didn’t appreciate it properly?”

As she spoke, Sierra reached out her hand.

Jayce’s waist looked narrow, but it felt hard to the touch.

The feel of his abdominal muscles was on another level.

Sierra found herself lingering, completely engrossed in the sensation. She didn’t even notice the darkness in Jayce’s eyes deepening with her every touch.

Just as Jayce wrapped his arm around Sierra’s waist, a series of loud RUMBLES shattered the romantic atmosphere between them.

Sierra was mortified.

Her face was hot and flushed. ”I’m hungry!”

’I only had a little something to eat this morning and completely skipped lunch. It’s perfectly normal to be hungry now, right?’

”Then let’s eat!”

As he spoke, Jayce casually dried Sierra’s hair for her before turning to get his shirt.

He wasn’t in a hurry.

After all, they had plenty of time.

Sierra watched Jayce pull on his shirt, an indescribable feeling in her heart.

It was as if she was a little disappointed, yet also a little relieved.

’But wow, Jayce looks so different with his shirt on versus off!’

When he was shirtless, he was a man radiating an intense, seductive aggression.

But with his shirt on, he was a bright, dazzling, sunny boy!

’What a contrast!’

’I’ve really lucked out!’

Sierra put the bathtub away, then brought Jayce into her space with her.

For the past three days outside, they had just been making do with food.

Now, they definitely had to eat something good to properly reward themselves.

The two sat at a table as steaming hot dishes appeared one after another.

There was cumin lamb, stir-fried eel with scallions, steamed sea bass, braised pork belly, and stir-fried greens in oyster sauce. There was also a lamb rib soup, the meat so tender it fell off the bone, all served with fragrant white rice.

At that moment, Sierra was completely focused on eating, her head buried in her bowl.

Maybe it was because stronger Superpower Users had bigger appetites, but the two of them managed to polish off every last dish.

Although she was full, Sierra still felt like she wanted a little more, so she brought out some fruit and dessert.

This time, however, she ate slowly.

She hadn’t entered the space for a few days, and the vegetables she had planted before were now fully mature. They hadn’t rotted, thankfully, but it was time to harvest them.

Inside the space, plants grew much faster than in the outside world, at a ratio of about twenty-four to one.

It had been over twenty days in the outside world since Sierra planted the fruit trees, which was equivalent to a year or two inside the space. As a result, the trees had grown a lot and were even beginning to blossom and bear fruit.

Under normal circumstances, plants need pollination to blossom and bear fruit.

But since a pocket dimension like this existed, it wasn’t strange that they could do so without pollination.

The various fruit trees were all laden with fruit.

’But they aren’t ripe yet. I can pick them after one more day!’

Looking at the bountiful harvest of fruits and vegetables, Sierra sighed. ”It’s a shame. Only the two of us can eat all this.”

There was no way to send any to Yvonne Shelby and Kevin Everett.

’Otherwise, I’d never be able to explain it!’

’If only I had a Wood Element Ability too!’

At this thought, an idea struck her. ”Can a person only have one Superpower? Has anyone ever had two or more, like in a novel?”

Jayce hadn’t expected Sierra to suddenly ask such a question.

After thinking about it carefully, Jayce slowly shook his head. ”I don’t know if it’s possible. Based on what I know now, there isn’t anyone like that.”

’Well, it’s normal that there isn’t anyone.’

Sierra wasn’t too disappointed, though.

Just having one Superpower was already an incredible thing.

’Wanting more would indeed be a bit greedy!’

Seeing Sierra lost in thought, Jayce gently ruffled her hair. ”If you’re sleepy, take a nap. I’ll go wash the clothes.”

Of course, Jayce wasn’t just washing his own clothes; he was washing Sierra’s as well.

At first, Sierra had been a little embarrassed to let Jayce wash them.

But now, after all this time, she had come to accept it completely.

As a Water Ability User, Jayce had developed his Superpower to its absolute limit.

Who could have imagined what it looked like for clothes to be enveloped in water and spun continuously in mid-air?

And with laundry detergent added in!

At first, it was clear water wrapping around the clothes, spinning in the air. Then, as it spun, it turned into a mass of suds.

Even though it wasn’t the first time she had seen this, Sierra still watched with relish, clicking her tongue in amazement.

Not only was Jayce’s method convenient for washing clothes, but he could also dry them immediately afterward.

’He’s practically a must-have for domestic life!’

’If the apocalypse ends someday and Jayce still has his Superpower, we won’t even need to buy a washing machine!’

As her mind drifted with these random thoughts, Sierra fell asleep without realizing it.

When Jayce returned with the clothes in his arms, he was greeted by the sight of Sierra’s peaceful, sleeping face.
