Catastrophic necromancer

Chapter 341: It Turns Out the Wind God Likes Minimalism

In an instant, the Whirlwind Tiger endured a total of four thousand Elemental Explosions, plus four thousand attacks from the Skeleton Sharpshooters. It let out one final wail before crashing to the ground.

A level 44 Hell difficulty dungeon boss, instantly killed.

Lin Moyu took a deep breath, though it was within his expectations, he still felt a bit shaken:

It wasn’t that he had never insta-killed a BOSS before, but previously he had used the [Strong Soldier] skill to do so. The [Strong Soldier] skill was not his own job skill after all.

Who knows when it might disappear one day.

From the beginning, Lin Moyu never intended to rely on it, preferring not to use it if possible.

[Killed Whirlwind Tiger, experience +1,760,000]

[Obtained Whirlwind Gauntlets]

[Obtained Whirlwind Fragment]

[Whirlwind Gauntlets: Platinum-grade weapon, all attributes +1000, monk class skill enhancement (60%)]

[Whirlwind Fragment: Five Whirlwind Fragments can be combined into a Whirlwind Crystal]

Just an ordinary platinum-grade weapon, with no skill enhancements, ranking at the bottom of platinum-grade weapons.

Lin Moyu only glanced at it before throwing it into his storage ring.

After the Whirlwind Tiger died, Lin Moyu didn’t directly enter the palace, but instead searched around the area.

Just like the previous [Water God Courtyard] dungeon, he knew that if he wasn’t careful, he might miss something.

After searching around, it seemed there was nothing.

The Whirlwind Tiger’s corpse had already scattered with the wind after death, even the bloodstains blown away, leaving no trace.

The palace entrance was empty, and the palace doors were spotlessly clean, without even a speck of dust left.

The stone walls of this palace were also bare, in stark contrast to the [Water God Courtyard].

“It seems the Wind God likes minimalism.”

“If so, then why place a gemstone here?”

On top of the palace, there was an inconspicuous small gemstone.

The small gemstone emitted a faint blue glow, blending into the blue stone walls, easily missed if not looked at carefully.

Lin Moyu’s sharp eyes still spotted it.

The skeleton warriors retrieved the gemstone.

[Whirlwind Gem]

[Whirlwind Gem: Permanently reduces wind elemental damage by (50%), with a chance to gain a wind-type skill]

“As expected.”

With a smile, Lin Moyu activated the Whirlwind Gem with a flicker of spiritual power.

Raging winds came howling, swirling around Lin Moyu incessantly, with the sound of wind in his ears.

After a minute, the raging winds stopped.

He didn’t gain any skills, only increased wind elemental immunity.

This was also within his expectations.

The chance of gaining a skill was very low.

He had already been lucky to gain two skills from the Venomous Gem and Light Gem.

Stepping into the palace gates, the interior was very spacious, with a simple layout as well.

The ground was paved with blue stone, constantly polished by the wind until it was as smooth as a mirror.

Walking on it, Lin Moyu even felt like he might slip.

At the end of the palace was a long corridor, connecting to another even grander palace.

This grandeur was simply in its sheer size, simple and unadorned, yet giving off an extraordinary aura.

Suddenly, a huge whirlwind burst out from the corridor, attempting to sweep Lin Moyu away.

But not only was Lin Moyu unmoved, the bone armor on his body flashed, deflecting the force of the whirlwind.

“Not enough power!”

Four thousand skeleton mages acted simultaneously.

Under their concentrated barrage, the whirlwind was instantly shattered.

A ball of wind gently fell to the ground.

Lin Moyu felt curious, as what fell was actually a ball of wind.

He pinched it in his hand, able to feel the wind rolling in his palm, emitting a soft whispering sound, as if someone was whispering in his ear.

He squeezed it, and it was soft, like cotton.

He had never imagined being able to pinch wind in his palm, the feeling was quite strange.

[Wind God’s Whisper: Can be used to awaken the Wind God]

After playing with it for a while, Lin Moyu put it away.

“Now I’m just missing the Wind God’s Key.”

Based on the characteristics of the previous three elemental dungeons.

In addition to an item that could awaken the corresponding deity, there should also be a key to open the deity’s palace.

Lin Moyu searched around again, but found nothing this time.

After confirming there was nothing, Lin Moyu walked through the corridor and came to the entrance of the majestic palace.

There was a plaque above the palace entrance, but it was blank.

Lin Moyu found it strange, if it was blank, why hang a plaque at all?

Moreover, the previous palace didn’t have a plaque.

Since the Wind God liked minimalism so much, he shouldn’t have hung such a plaque, it seemed out of place.

This plaque was a bit odd.

With a thought, the skeleton warriors immediately jumped up and took down the plaque. Once separated from the palace, the plaque rapidly shrank, eventually becoming a small jade tablet.

[Wind God’s Key: Can open the true Wind God’s Palace]

His feeling was correct, this plaque was indeed problematic.

With the three items in hand, all that was left was to defeat the BOSS and obtain the Whirlwind Crystals.

The Whirlwind Crystals were used to synthesize the Elemental God Stones, not to be missed.

The undead army had already charged into the palace ahead of Lin Moyu.

Inside the palace, there were no decorations, only an empty space with a beast lying there.

It only slowly opened its eyes and awoke after the skeletons entered.

The moment it opened its eyes, wind elemental energy erupted.

In an instant, the palace was filled with whirlwinds, large and small, numbering in the thousands, instantly submerging the undead army. The Lich Generals lazily waved their staves, healing.

There were many whirlwinds, but their attack power was not that great.

The beast then let out a roar, its entire body shaking, surrounded by whirlwinds.

Lin Moyu walked in, snapping his fingers.

[Wind God’s Steed (Hell-level Leader)]

[Level: 45]

[Strength: 70,000]

[Agility…]

Lin Moyu was too lazy to look at the rest of the attributes, their strength didn’t matter.

The skeleton berserkers had already charged forward, breaking through the outer whirlwind layer.

The giant axes in their hands erupted with brilliant red light.

The skeleton mages and skeleton sharpshooters also acted simultaneously.

Lin Moyu casually cast an Aging Curse.

[Berserker Onslaught (Level 1): Deals damage to the target equal to 500% of the user’s strength attribute, cooldown 10 minutes]

The attack power of the skeleton berserkers’ skill, judging solely from their strength attribute, was 550,000.

The attack power of the skeleton mages and skeleton sharpshooters, just look at what happened to the Whirlwind Tiger.

The three types acted together.

After one round of concentrated attacks, the level 45 Hell-level dungeon BOSS [Wind God’s Steed] was severely injured. The outer whirlwinds completely dissipated, and it collapsed to the ground on its last breath.

0.33 seconds later, the second axe strike from the skeleton berserkers and the second arrow from the skeleton sharpshooters landed simultaneously.

Without even a scream, the [Wind God’s Steed] perished.

It took only one second from start to finish.

“I guess that counts as an insta-kill.”

[Killed Wind God’s Steed, experience +2,700,000]

[Obtained Wind Blade]

[Obtained Wind Hide Armor]

[Obtained Whirlwind Fragment (x3)]

[Wind Blade: Platinum-grade weapon, all attributes +1000, warrior class skill enhancement (60%)]

[Wind Hide Armor: Platinum-grade armor, all attributes +700, wind elemental damage reduced by (20%)]

Not very good equipment, Lin Moyu threw them into his storage ring as well, to be sold at the trading post later, probably not worth much.

“Four Whirlwind Fragments this time, more than the [Water God Courtyard].”

“It’s a pity the experience is too low, only about (2%) increase per run…after reaching level 40, the experience requirement for leveling up becomes even greater. At this rate, it’s only about (1.5%) experience increase per run.”

Lin Moyu decided to run it a few more times, collect a few Whirlwind Crystals, and then stop coming.

The bell rang in the dungeon hall, signaling Lin Moyu had upgraded the dungeon, while also setting a new record.

3 hours 42 minutes 51 seconds. Not a very good record, but those who frequently visited the dungeon hall knew that Lin Moyu’s first record couldn’t be counted.

The second run was the real focus.

After leaving the dungeon, Lin Moyu didn’t linger and immediately re-entered.

This time, as soon as he entered, he locked onto the wind path leading to the Sky Plains and charged straight through.

He began to enjoy the thrill of speed-clearing again.

Of course, the speed couldn’t be that much faster, but it was still 3-4 times quicker.

He ran extremely fast, even faster than the skeleton mages.

The over 20 kilometer distance, he completed in just over 2 minutes.

Averaging 8-9 kilometers per minute.

The Wind Sprites along the way were left to the skeletons.

The monsters on the Whirlwind Plains were too scattered, dealing with them was inefficient.

Passing through the wind path, he entered the Sky Plains.

The skeleton berserkers charged out rapidly, gathering all the Whirlwind Sprites along the way.

The skeleton mages concentrated their attacks, with the Elemental Explosion having an area-of-effect.

Although the range was only 10 meters, each attack could hit 2-3 Whirlwind Sprites simultaneously.

The 4,000 skeleton mages took five rounds of concentrated fire to completely clear out the few hundred Whirlwind Sprites along the way.

As for the remaining ones, Lin Moyu was too lazy to kill them.

He took the lead, jumping onto the floating stone platforms, charging towards the palace.

For speed-clearing, he had to move at top speed.
