Chapter 85: Skeleton Mage, Elemental Resistance

The light orb lasted for a while, then gradually dissipated.

No new skill was obtained.

Lin Moyu wasn’t disappointed.

He had just gotten a godly skill, which was already very satisfying.

As skills increased, the failure rate of skill scrolls would rise rapidly.

Later on, it might take over a dozen attempts to succeed once.

He continued activating skill scrolls.

Failure!

Consecutive failures.

Lin Moyu remained calm and continued activating skill scrolls.

Even if all the rest failed, just the Bone Armor skill was already worth it.

After 7 consecutive failures.

The 10th skill scroll…

The light orb enveloped Lin Moyu just like before,

Seconds later, a different scene appeared before his eyes.

Raging fire!

Ice raining down!

Howling winds!

Lightning and thunder!

Four scenes played out alternately before him.

The four scenes represented four elements.

Even the usually calm Lin Moyu started to get excited.

Such scenes meant another new skill.

And it seemed to be an elemental-related skill.

[Obtained skill: Summon Skeleton Mage]

[Summon Skeleton Mage (Level 1): Summons one iron-grade skeleton mage.]

There was no further explanation.

Because the skill was only level 1, it could only summon an iron-grade skeleton mage.

A small black hole appeared beside Lin Moyu, then a skeleton mage walked out.

Summoning the skeleton mage consumed 50 spirit power.

More spirit consumption than summoning skeleton warriors.

He remembered skeleton warriors only needed 10 spirit power at level 1.

The iron-grade skeleton mage looked tattered all over.

Compared to the silver-grade skeleton warriors, it was a pitiful sight.

Its bones were full of cracks, and it walked unsteadily as if about to fall apart.

It had no weapon, but flames flickered on its skeletal hands.

This was a fire-element skeleton mage.

Lin Moyu checked the skeleton mage’s attributes.

[Iron-grade Skeleton Mage]

[Strength: 300]

[Agility: 300]

[Spirit: 900]

[Constitution: 300]

[Skill: Explosive Flame]

[Explosive Flame: Deals fire elemental damage to the target. Attack power based on spirit.]

Due to the Full Enhancement talent, all attributes were increased 30 times.

The base attributes for strength, agility and constitution were 10 points.

Spirit was 30 points.

Lin Moyu was very satisfied with these attributes.

The skeleton mage’s strength, agility and constitution weren’t high.

Slightly lower than a level 1 career holder.

Only its spirit reached 30 points.

And its skill power was determined by spirit.

Lin Moyu understood the skeleton mage’s purpose.

They were artillery, damage dealers.

Skeleton warriors tanked in front, while they dealt damage from behind.

He figured these skills’ power wouldn’t be weak.

Now he just needed to keep practicing the skill, leveling it up to make the skeleton mages stronger.

The light orb lit up again, lasting over 10 seconds before going out.

Lin Moyu used them one after another.

Another series of failures.

With his previous experience, Lin Moyu felt this was normal.

Worst case, he could buy a few dozen more later.

Finally, on the last scroll activation, Lin Moyu saw a different scene again.

Whenever a skill appeared, there would be a different scene.

Like a movie preview.

This preview was colorful, and Lin Moyu couldn’t understand it.

Understanding wasn’t important, just having it was enough.

[Obtained skill: Elemental Resistance]

[Elemental Resistance (Level 1): Passive skill, increases elemental attack resistance by 10% for self and summons.]

He didn’t expect it to be a passive skill.

10% damage reduction, after Full Enhancement, would increase elemental attack resistance by 300%.

In other words, any elemental attack damage to him would be reduced by 3 times.

Safety greatly increased again.

Though skeleton warriors had high constitution, boss elemental skills could still deal significant damage to them.

Now with Elemental Resistance, the skeleton warriors’ resistance to elemental attacks greatly increased, making them even safer.

Every Necromancer skill was practical, with no useless skills.

Checking the time, half an hour had passed since entering the Skill Training Hall.

Here, time was points.

He decisively summoned four skeleton warriors.

Bringing the total to 125.

Then he dismissed the skeleton mage.

Lin Moyu’s summons could either be stored in summoning space to exist permanently,

Or dismissed at any time, essentially destroying the skeleton mage.

He had no choice, needing to repeatedly practice the skill.

Summon one, dismiss one.

Spirit was quickly depleted.

Lin Moyu then hurried to meditate.

In the Skill Training Room, meditation restored spirit power very quickly.

He could clearly feel his spirit power rapidly recovering.

It even gave an addictive feeling.

After an hour, Lin Moyu’s spirit power had mostly recovered.

Without hesitation, he paid points for another 3 hours.

Once his spirit power fully recovered, he started practicing skills.

Skeleton mages appeared and disappeared non-stop.

When spirit power was depleted, he meditated again.

This cycle repeated without pause.

Practicing skills was addictive, Lin Moyu understood the meaning of that phrase now.

Through repeated practice, Summon Skeleton Mage finally reached level 2.

[Iron-grade Skeleton Mage]

[Strength: 600]

[Agility: 600]

[Spirit: 1800]

[Constitution: 600]

Still iron-grade, still tattered looking.

Not as good as skeleton warriors, but not useless either.

Time was up again.

Lin Moyu had spent the whole afternoon in the Skill Training Room, 4 hours straight.

Repeated meditation and skill practice.

Though satisfying, he felt mentally fatigued.

It was like running dungeons all day.

Lin Moyu left the Skill Training Room and contacted Bai Yiyuan via communicator.

The call connected, and Bai Yiyuan’s authoritative voice came through, “What is it?”

“Lord White God, I’ve reached level 20,” Lin Moyu said calmly.

Bai Yiyuan, who was drinking tea, looked strange and slightly surprised, “You’re level 20?”

Lin Moyu calmly said, “Yes.”

Bai Yiyuan was silent for a moment, “Wait for me at the Academic Affairs Office.”

“Okay.”

After hanging up, Lin Moyu headed to the Academic Affairs Office.

In a secret space, Meng Anwen couldn’t help laughing, “Who reached level 20?”

Bai Yiyuan waved his hand, “Who else could it be but Lin Moyu?”

Meng Anwen wasn’t surprised, “Isn’t that normal?”

“It is normal, but also a bit abnormal. He was only level 17 yesterday evening, now he’s 20 after just one day. His leveling speed is quite fast.”

Meng Anwen also looked slightly shocked, “Indeed very fast. Looks like he’s working hard.”

Bai Yiyuan suddenly laughed, “I get it, this guy must be soloing Nightmare dungeons. Otherwise it’s impossible to be so fast.”

Thinking of Lin Moyu’s performance on Mermaid Island, Bai Yiyuan felt he definitely had the ability to solo Nightmare dungeons.

At this moment someone walked over, “Something strange happened.”

Bai Yiyuan smiled at the newcomer, “Old Ning, you’re not managing the Dungeon Hall, how do you have time to come here?”

Ning Tairan said solemnly, “Something odd happened in the Dungeon Hall. A young fellow repeatedly set new dungeon records.”

“Today people even argued about him, almost coming to blows.”

“Someone said you gave the kid treasures, allowing him to set new records.”

Bai Yiyuan raised an eyebrow, “Is there such a treasure? I don’t know of any. Who set the records?”

As he spoke, Bai Yiyuan handed Ning Tairan a cup of tea, “No rush, drink some tea and tell me slowly. It’s just a kid, can’t cause any big trouble.”

Meng Anwen saw Bai Yiyuan’s composed look and knew he probably had an answer in mind.

Ning Tairan took a sip of tea, “A student called Lin Moyu. He came at level 17 yesterday, first cleared Mutant Forest, then Spider’s Nest.”

“These are the records he set.”

Ning Tairan displayed Lin Moyu’s records.

Mutant Forest: 24 minutes 32 seconds

Spider’s Nest: 22 minutes 51 seconds

Bai Yiyuan and Meng Anwen looked at each other. These results were frightening.

Even they were shocked.

Meng Anwen said self-mockingly, “Old Bai, could you have done this back then?”

Bai Yiyuan was frank, “Hell no. I could solo Normal difficulty, but Nightmare would be suicide.”

“Moreover, this result, I really don’t know how this kid did it.”

“Nevermind, I’m going. That kid should be at the Academic Affairs Office by now.”

With that, Bai Yiyuan disappeared.

Ning Tairan asked curiously, “Why is he in such a hurry?”

Meng Anwen smiled, “He’s going to find this Lin Moyu kid. Don’t mind him, let’s have tea.”

Ning Tairan said, “Perfect, I have something to discuss with you too.”

Meng Anwen was slightly stunned, “What is it?”

“Make a ring.”

…

At the Academic Affairs Office, Lin Moyu met Bai Yiyuan.

“Lord White God, what’s the mission?”

He got straight to the point, disliking beating around the bush.

Bai Yiyuan looked at Lin Moyu. He really was level 20 now.

This leveling speed was extraordinary.

At least much faster than him back in the day.

Thinking of his own miserable state back then, Bai Yiyuan couldn’t help saying to himself, “Both siblings are monsters.”

Lin Mohan reaching level 30 in 3 months then joining Creation God Academy was already lightning fast.

This younger brother was even more terrifying. At this rate, he’d probably reach 30 in less than 2 months.

“The mission is simple. Go fetch an item.”
