What if your Honkai Star Rail was like this?

Chapter 413: Chapter 412: A Flaw, Fleeting

After Sunday’s explanation, Dan Heng more or less believed him and began seriously peeking······ ah, no, investigating Lygus.

After the meeting in Cloudstone Heavenly Palace ended, the two had followed Lygus all the way to his residence. Now, through the ”Perspective Telescope,” everything Lygus did inside was exposed to their eyes.

”When ripples come, drop by drop they appear, gently drifting toward the horizon. No matter how far away, they are yearnings that can never be caught, oh~”

”······”

Lygus was humming a pleasant little tune as he walked lightly around the room. He was holding a watering can in his hand and gently tending to the potted plants on the balcony: ”Light, sky, sea, stars, seeds, flowers, flying birds, hope, love.”

”Today in Amphoreus has taken another step toward tomorrow.”

After carefully pruning the flowers, Lygus first washed his hands, then put on a chef’s hat and apron and entered the kitchen: ”In a little while, Little Agy, Little Anaxa, Snowy, and Little Gray will be back from Castrum Kremnos. As their senior, I should prepare a celebration banquet for them.”

”What should I make? Hehe, no matter what I make it’ll taste good anyway. I can already imagine their smiling faces~”

”Will we, perhaps, be able to meet again~”

Lygus hummed as he started cooking by himself.

”······”

Dan Heng silently observed the scene while quietly analyzing Lygus’s character in his heart: ”Sunny, positive energy, attentive, cute, girlish, slightly narcissistic······ Tsk, why are they all feminine-sounding words?”

He frowned and looked at Sunday: ”What do you think?”

Sunday: ”It’s really strange. My intuition tells me this Lygus is very dangerous, but I can’t quite describe it······ He feels like the type Miss Stelle would like, except for his appearance.”

Dan Heng: ”······”

Not long after, a batch of carefully handmade small cakes came fresh out of the oven. Lygus wiped away nonexistent sweat from his forehead and said: ”Phew—— Finally done. Emmm, right, I should pair them with some honey brew.”

”Oh no, there’s no honey brew at home. I have to go out and buy some!”

With that, Lygus walked straight out the door and headed toward Cloudstone Market.

”······”

The two watched Lygus’s gradually receding back, then silently looked at each other. They could both see the same intention in each other’s eyes——

Let’s go! Let’s go inside and take a look!

The two hit it off immediately. They carefully climbed through the window and snuck into Lygus’s residence, then began searching through his things.

They had a clear division of labor: Sunday searched the bedroom, and Dan Heng searched the study. These were the two places in the entire room most likely to contain secrets, so they had the highest priority.

Creak——

Sunday opened the wardrobe and began searching for clues: ”What a poor wardrobe. There are only a few dozen pieces of clothing. Back when I······ Sigh, forget it, forget it. I can’t force others to be like me.”

”What’s this white one? A wedding dress? Does Lygus secretly wear this in private? Ugh······ Just imagining it is already too much for my brain. This is really bad taste. Next.”

”No, this purple one is obviously a children’s dress, right? Lygus, you really are a pervert!”

”Hmm? What’s this black one? It even comes with a matching mask and gloves. Speaking of which, this mask kind of looks like some drink’s logo······ I get it. This is advertising clothing. Looks like it’s not important either.”

”······”

”Forget it, forget it. There’s not a single clue here. I might as well go look for other clues.”

Sunday sighed, closed the wardrobe, and began searching elsewhere.

”Eh? What’s with this greatsword that’s taller than a person? Why would Lygus keep weapons in his bedroom? Couldn’t he just buy a separate house to store his weapons?”

”And this crescent ritual sword······ Wow! This ritual sword isn’t sturdy at all! Why are things falling out from inside? What is all this? Crystal after crystal? Are they crystals? They even have Titan symbols on them······”

”Quick, clean this up. Don’t let Lygus find out.”

Sunday hurriedly stuffed the ”crystals” with Titan symbols back into the ritual sword and pretended nothing had happened.

”Sigh. Lygus is actually this cautious. He didn’t leave behind even a single suspicious clue. Sigh, I might as well go check on Dan Heng’s side.”

·····

On the other side, in the study.

Dan Heng searched very carefully. He didn’t miss a single detail, even occasionally knocking on the floor beneath his feet to make sure there were no hidden spaces.

”Strange. How can he be this watertight?”

Dan Heng muttered while touching his chin. After searching for so long, most of what he found were ordinary books. There wasn’t a single clue related to Lygus’s identity.

As expected, someone who could become the administrator of this world was definitely a meticulous person. Trying to find anything by searching his residence probably wouldn’t yield results.

”Hmm?”

Dan Heng opened a thick photo album on the desk. From its old cover and yellowed photos, this album seemed to have existed for many years and was arranged in chronological order. From back to front, the photos became older and older.

The newest page clearly showed a group photo of the three of them and Phainon fighting side by side during yesterday’s holy city defense battle. There was even a handwritten note: Nikador attacked Okhema again. The situation was chaotic, but this time there were many companions, so I wasn’t afraid.

”He seems······ to really like taking photos?”

Dan Heng touched his chin and fell into thought. A person’s appearance could be faked, but traces of life wouldn’t lie. From this, it seemed his previous goodwill wasn’t fake either, and he really did have a good relationship with the Chrysos Heirs.

He flipped through the photo album page by page. The history of Amphoreus over the past few thousand years unfolded before his eyes. Until he reached the very first page — there was an iron cage. Inside the cage was a blurry purple figure, and outside the cage stood a petite pink-haired girl······

The note on this photo read: Cyrene, is peach, is love.

Wait, this is?

The moment he saw this photo, Dan Heng instantly felt like he had discovered something major. He took a picture of the photo, planning to ask the Chrysos Heirs about it later.

Phew. As expected, no matter how cautious a person was, it was impossible for them to have no flaws. As long as one was patient, they would definitely be able to find some clues.

”Sunday, did you find anything on your side?” Dan Heng asked.

Sunday shook his head: ”There’s no useful information at all. Just some weird clothes and weapons······ Forget it, let’s not talk about that. What about you? Did you find anything?”

Dan Heng: ”I found a photo. I’ll think of a way to ask about it later without Lygus noticing. Let’s go.”

”Mm.”

However, just as the two were about to leave, footsteps could be heard from outside the door. From the rhythm and weight of the steps, it was Lygus.
