Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1026: The Chaos Arts Practitionersʼ Advance

The Chaos Immortals didnʼt bother hiding their arrival. Once they breached the outer perimeter of the kingdom, their forces split into five groups, each heading toward the scattered cities within Luminara.

To announce their presence, the sky darkened as blackened clouds followed them, casting a grim shadow over the lands.

The first to fall was Eastyale City, known for its population of about 500 Arcanists, most of whom followed the Elemental Path.

This force was definitely formidable if they were against opponents who were also Arcanists.

With their city walls, barrier formations, and other protection, it wouldnʼt be surprising if they were able to defend even against 2,000 Arcanists coming at them.

However, that wasnʼt the case for this war.

They were facing Chaos Immortals who already had a full grasp of the strength of this kingdom, except for the lone Immortal Tower owned by the Vampire Queen, Lisa.

”Theyʼre the rumored evil practitioners, the Chaos Arts Practitioners! Do not let them look down on us! Kill!”

”Kill!”

As soon as they sensed the incoming threat, they summoned waves of Elemental Spirits—fire, wind, water, and earth—all conjured at once.

It didnʼt end there… Soon, hundreds of colorful, magical beasts filled the skies and streets in a matter of seconds!

But to the Chaos Immortals… it was childʼs play.

One of them, a tall figure in a ragged purple robe, stepped forward and raised a single hand.

It was Neylan, one of the five leaders of the Chaos Immortals or the Draven Clan…

”Disordered Storm…”

With this Chaos Arts, the summoned Spirits started losing their energy…

Whom~

Suddenly, the Spirits froze mid-air and screamed in distorted voices as they were twisted and crushed by an invisible force!

”Weʼre doomed…”

”This is not something we can deal with on our own!”

”Avoid direct confrontation! Your lives are more important!”

All the Arcanists knew now what they were dealing with: Divinity!

There was no doubt that the Chaos Arts Practitioners who had arrived were actually Immortals or at the very least, Half-Immortals.

Even with their whole force, theyʼd be able to barely survive against a single Immortal, but facing dozens of them was a death sentence.

Unfortunately, many of the defenders didnʼt care about their lives as they tried to attack with all they had.

Because of this, the Chaos Immortals didnʼt show mercy as they attacked with the intent to kill!

In just a few moments, the Spell Models of the Elementalist shattered!

The Spell Models are directly linked to oneʼs soul. If it was destroyed or removed without proper procedure, it could lead to their death!

This was why Valeʼs ability to remove Spell Models had been so popular several years ago…

”Ahh!”

”Y-you!”

”Theyʼre shattered!”

”Oh no!”

Their essence drained in less than ten breaths. The Arcanists who had bravely used the Elemental Spells and summoned Elemental Spirits had suddenly collapsed to their knees while blood was leaking from their eyes and ears.

”Thatʼs all?” the Immortal whispered mockingly. ”Such fragile bonds.”

In under an hour, Eastyale was subdued. The Chaos Immortals didnʼt even have to destroy the city—fear was enough to ensure that they had full control of the city.

In such a short amount of time, the residents or the survivors of the first onslaught had surrendered without resistance.

***

Purging the Luminara Kingdom wasnʼt easy…

At the same time that Neylan was attacking Eastyale City, the Goldendawn City, a commerce-heavy city of the south, was also under attack by the Chaos Arts Practitioners…

Unlike Eastyale City, this place had more than a thousand Arcanists residing here. It was all because of the small Academy that had been established within this place.

The Arcanists here are mostly part of Rune, Alchemy, and Mystic Arts...

As soon as they received the warning from the Capital, the city immediately closed its gates and waited to be attacked.

Although the king had ordered them to surrender, the leaders of the City had obviously wanted to defend themselves.

They didnʼt want to just give up without any fight, or it would be a disgrace to their families.

As soon as the Rune Seers and the Vampire Knights announced the presence of the Chaos Arts Practitioners, they immediately activated every protective ward and barrier inscribed in the city walls, layer after layer of runes glowing in a bright blue hue.

Aside from that, the Alchemists had also activated dozens of enchanted golems and some other alchemical constructs…

”Oh? Isnʼt this nice? They have golems and those interesting constructs. I like this place! Sir Kent is right… Itʼs better to preserve some key figures in this city instead of eliminating them all with one Immortal Spell.” Arin muttered as her eyes lit up after seeing the golems on the walls of the city.

”Theyʼre indeed something we normally canʼt see in the Shattered Expanse…” Thassa replied as he knew very well about this cityʼs importance.

He was the one who had suggested not to destroy the city just to spread fear.

”Alright… Iʼll be gentle to them, Thassa… I know youʼre interested in learning Golem Crafting.” Arin said with a chuckle…

Indeed, despite seeing thousands of Golems guarding the city, none of them felt threatened at all.

It was like seeing a bunch of infants holding a knife…

If they donʼt use Divinity, they might get harmed by the Golems. However, as long as they use their Divinity to protect themselves, they could never be harmed by such things…

”Ohh… Wait… Let me see if this works…” Arin muttered as she cast her spell.

”Insanity Pulse.”

This Chaos Arts Spell immediately spread outward, covering the entire city…

It was an invisible ripple of chaotic mana that surged forward. Within seconds, the Rune Masters forgot their own spell sequences. The Alchemists were trying to control their chimera, and the golems went berserk... The Mystic Arts Practitioners, who were supposedly capable of blocking such mind attacks, stared blankly into space, mumbling things that made no sense.

However, as she had expected, the Golems themselves were unharmed while the Arcanists of various paths were barely hanging on…
