Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1014: The Loot

As the battle escalated further with the appearance of the strongest Demonic Saint, the once-glorious skies of Hymn City were now filled with streaks of demonic light and clouds of Corrupted Divinity.

Nonetheless, Vale remained still and acted like an invisible shadow just at the edges of the battles.

He stood atop the shattered roof space of a fallen pagoda… Until now, his aura had been suppressed beneath layers of Shadow Concealment.

To any observer, he could still be seen, but they wouldnʼt target him due to his minimal presence… He was like a bystander unworthy of notice in a war of Immortals.

Thanks to this trick that suppresses his presence, Valeʼs senses were spread like a net across the battlefield, so he was able to follow any changes in the battle, allowing him to position himself better when needed.

His shadow threads, thinner than hair and infused with his Divinity, moved unnoticed through the smoke and debris as he secrets connected to more Demonic Creatures and Demon Saints around.

Because of the chaos, no one would actually bother with the movement of his shadow…

It was silent, untraceable, and most importantly… a connection with his Divine Extraction System.

Soon, the battle near him was reaching its end…

The Demon Saint that Vale had set his eyes upon was unleashing waves of black divine fire that warped space and melted Immortal shields.

It was a powerful Spell boosted by Corrupted Divinity…

”This is the Unholy Sovereign Flame… Iʼm BaʼKruhl! Remember the Demon Saints who will kill you all!” The Demon Saint with four wings said with a laugh…

In response, the team of five Immortals formed an ancient array. Each of them levitated midair as they assessed the Demon Saintʼs power.

”Dark Heaven Binding Net… Seal the corrupted!”

A dome of shadow divinity collapsed from the sky like a golden cage, pinning to the ground. BaʼKruhlʼs flames surged defiantly but were held long enough for the next barrage of spells to hit.

Valeʼs eyes narrowed as he found an opportunity...

ʼItʼs now or never…ʼ

Shadow Hands materialized behind BaʼKruhl… Just like before, it was silent, incorporeal hand invisible to both divine and demonic senses.

This time, Vale put more Divinity into it… These werenʼt mere projections of darkness anymore; they were constructs that could easily deal with Demonic Creatures…

As soon as he got connected, he began.

The moment BaʼKruhl cried out in rage, Vale knew heʼd pierced something critical.

BaʼKruhl staggered for a heartbeat—not from the Immortal assault, but from a shudder that ran through his core.

[ Living Demon has been discovered. Would you like to extract it? ]

”Yes!”

[ Extraction Successful. Corrupted Divinity +150, Vitality +1, Strength +1, Immortal Essence +1150 ]

[ Extraction Successful. Corrupted Divinity +110, Energy +500 ]

[ Extraction Successful. Corrupted Divine Soul Fragment x3, Memory Fragment x2 ]

[ Extraction Successful. Corrupted Divinity +80, Evolved Spell Light ]

Vale gently nodded after seeing the result. It was already impressive, but it didnʼt end there. Since the Demon Saint was still busy dealing with the Immortals, Vale continued working on his mission.

[ Extraction Successful. Acquired: Immortal Artifact – Black Bell of Atonement ( Sealed ) ]

”I got it?!” Vale was shocked, but he looked at the Demon Saint. He was still holding the bell… It seemed that what he was about to get was not the original but a replacement.

Vale swiftly looked into his new item.

The Black Bell was an Immortal Artifact once wielded by the Soul Executioner, said to be capable of silencing the soul flame of any being, mortal or divine.

Legend had it that once rung, no prayer, curse, or spell could be cast for a short period, but an eternity in battle. It was forbidden by many orders and lost to time.

Yet now, it was his.

He watched as the artifact vanished into his systemʼs inventory space. Its frame was barely visible as it seemed to be forged of warped celestial alloy and engraved with sealed runes

BaʼKruhl thrashed violently.

His wings came out erratically. Something had clearly gone wrong—his regeneration failed, his demonic flame faltered, and his spellcasting halted mid-chant.

”NOW!” an Immortal General roared.

Spears of crystallized fire and holy chains of thunder erupted from the sky! This move pierced through BaʼKruhlʼs heart and skull in a single synchronized strike.

The Demon Saint howled in pain…

”I canʼt accept this…” The Demon Saint was not content with how he was defeated. He was weakened through means he couldnʼt explain. He felt that it was simply too unfair!

Thud!

Just like that, the strongest Demon Saint collapsed to the ground without being able to show everything he had…

After that, Shane collected more rewards from the Demon Corpse and Celestial Corpses around…

After some time, Vale returned inside his private chamber within the run-down inn… He had already extracted a lot of resources this time, and as the Demonic Creatures and Demon Saints got beaten, his hiding place was getting more and more difficult as the chaos could no longer cover for him.

Vale finally exhaled as he returned. The Inn was actually protected by a Formation Expert, ensuring that Vale still had a place to return to. It was an amazing site.

Anyway, even if the battle wasnʼt over yet, he already confirmed that the city will not be defeated. It seemed that his guess was right, and they just wanted to see the limit of these Demon Saints and their power.

”Now… Letʼs see what this bell can really do.”

[ Item Appraisal Activated. ]

[ Name: Black Bell of Atonement ]

[ Grade: Immortal Artifact ( Damaged ) ]

[ Status: Sealed. Curse present. Binding required for full activation. ]

[ Effects (Partial): When unsealed and rung, all spellcasting and soul channeling within 300 meters is forcefully halted for 9 seconds. Immunity to Bellʼs effect granted to bearer. ]

Valeʼs eyes gleamed.

”What? This one had such powerful effects?”

This… was worth more than any ordinary spell. With proper restoration, this bell could change the tide of any battle—perhaps even hold back a Sky Immortal for a fatal window.

Still, he knew heʼd need to tread carefully. This artifact carried too many curses to the point that it was sealed.

”Canʼt I extract the Seal as well?” Vale mused as he tried something for a moment. He wasnʼt sure if it would work, but it was surely worth trying.
