Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1003: Invited

Vale doesnʼt really care about the Arcane Crystals… They may be extremely precious in the human realm, but for an Immortal like him, he would need Divine Crystals or other items at the level of an Immortal Item.

Vale tilted his head. ”What about the Shadow Immortal Spells?”

Although he couldnʼt imagine himself joining a merchant group, considering how a couple of large organizations invited him, he might be enticed if the Immortal Spells they offer were a lot better compared to others.

”We have Flicker Fade Garden and Night Trade Pact Spell Models. The former makes you untouchable for seven seconds. The latter creates shadow-bound trade links that let you exchange with other Pact Holders… Iʼm not really sure how that works since Iʼm not a Shadow Immortal. Still, those Spells arenʼt simple. We obtained after robbing—I mean, buying relics from a Sky Immortalʼs Tomb.” Ciara replied.

Vale noted it in his mind since he might find out more about these Shadow Immortal Spells.

”So… Whatʼs the catch? Iʼm sure you have some important task for me in case I join you. I want to know what will happen to me.” Vale asked.

”I canʼt say exactly for now… However, before joining, you will have to prove your value. Depending on your abilities, we will adjust our requirements for you. For example, if you can bring us an Immortal Item without triggering any detection protocols in one of our Treasure Vaults, then you will probably receive the highest grade and will be our priority to serve.”

Now that was an unusual metric.

Vale jotted it down.

As expected of the merchants, they have different methods of assessing their targets.

”Do you accept contractual works?” Vale couldnʼt help but ask. After all, unlike the other large organizations, it seemed that these merchants werenʼt the strict...

”Contractual?” Ciara muttered.

”I might have to consult the others for that… Well, that might be a good idea.” She muttered as she decided to leave for now. She didnʼt receive instructions about making Vale a contractual employee of the Syndicate after all.

She also didnʼt have the power to approve that, so she might as well consult her superior.

As Vale finished his drinks and thought that he was finally free, another person came!

This time, she was accompanied by two shadow familiars in the form of crows.

ʼSeriously?ʼ Vale couldnʼt help but sigh at this. Still, he decided to meet them…

After all, he recognized that they were also bidders in the previous auction.

”Iʼm Faria from the Silent Threads Organization. Sabrina told me a few things about you…” She introduced.

”Weʼre a small organization devoted to shadow mastery, cursecraft, and some dimensional studies...”

”Cursecraft, huh…” Vale gently nodded. He had recently obtained the Heart Implosion Spell. It was a strong spell, but he needed a strong curse to make it effective.

It would be interesting if he got a strong Curse Spell from this small organization.

Because of that, Vale decided to listen attentively.

Her offer actually came with robes made of shadow-divinity-infused materials and some anti-curse threads. Furthermore, she also gave a ticket to the Arcane Eclipse Summit.

”Arcane Eclipse Summit?” Vale muttered. He had no idea about it.

”Ten years from now… A summit will happen, and itʼs going to be the biggest one. I heard that many High Immortals will be sharing their precious experience for their advancement and would even sell some legendary Spell Models.”

Vale blinked. ”Ten years…”

Indeed, for Immortals like them, it should be a quick one.

However, for Vale, who hadnʼt lived for a long time, would consider ten years a bit too far.

A lot of things could happen to him during that time, considering the powers of his Divine Extraction System.

”Thatʼs right… Your seat would be guaranteed. Many Immortals would want to have this. Even if you canʼt join us, we want to befriend you.” Faria added.

”Really? Iʼm only a Lesser Immortal though…” Vale replied.

”Itʼs not as simple as that… Ahem… We also have Dimensional Creatures on our side. So we knew if someone had one as well.” She said.

”Ahhh…” Vale froze as he realized what had happened.

Indeed, she mentioned that they were also dabbling in some dimensional studies. It seemed that she wasnʼt joking at all.

He was actually keeping his Dimensional Creature inside his Shadow Gate… However, it seemed that traces of it were left behind and were sensed by these people.

It was a very impressive feat.

Anyway, she soon offered him two spells he could get if he ever decided to join their side.

It was Lightning Shroud and Withering Threads... They have three other Shadow Immortal Spells, but according to Faria, they were just too common. Only the two that she mentioned were rare Spell Models.

Anyway, they wouldnʼt just give it to him. He had to at least obtain 1,000 contribution points which was normally 5,000 contribution points in their organization…

As the final visitor departed, Vale was finally alone.

He didnʼt expect to receive so many offers in such a short span of time. Flicker Fade Garden, Night Trade Pact, Lightning Shroud, Withering Threads… And even a Summit Invitation for the Arcane Eclipse in ten years?

They werenʼt just courting him—they were probably betting on his future.

”Well, I suppose Iʼm getting popular…” Vale murmured dryly as he turned to his room.

Once inside, he activated a few Formation Arrays around the room, forming a zone that deflected Divine Senses and cloaked his activity.

Only then did he allow himself to sit down.

He waved his hand—and the Storage Ring shone faintly before items began spilling into neat rows, each one carefully suspended midair by a thin web of his energy…

”…Letʼs see what you left behind, old man.” Valeʼs eyes sharpened with anticipation.

Arcanthus Velgrothʼs Treasures were definitely precious. He was an Earth Immortal after all!

The first item that caught his eye was a blackened grimoire bound in human skin. Its surface pulsed with a strange heartbeat. As he hovered his hand over it, a name surfaced through his Item Appraisal spell.

ʼGrimoire of Lunar Decay – Tier: Immortal Artifact. It contains three Shadow Celestial Spell Models…ʼ
