Help! The Villainess Trapped in the Beast World's Drama!

Chapter 88: Chapter 82: The Injury Location Is a Bit... Embarrassing!

What kind of attitude does this guy have? She was simply concerned about his injury, not trying to have any inappropriate thoughts about him, so why was he acting like she was some kind of threat?

Shen Tang felt really aggrieved, but she kept thinking about it while lying in bed that night.

After all, Jia Lan was her target to win over, so she couldn’t just ignore him completely.

If it were just a minor injury, it would be fine, but she feared that stubborn guy might be hiding a serious problem.

Besides, ever since Shen Tang acquired her Healing Ability, she hadn’t found a test subject to experiment on properly, so she didn’t know to what extent she could heal.

She decided to go check on him.

In the middle of the night, after everyone was asleep, Shen Tang got up and went to Jia Lan’s room.

She knocked on the door.

Inside, a slightly weak voice quickly responded, ”Who is it?”

Shen Tang replied, ”It’s me.”

After a few seconds of silence inside, Jia Lan’s cold and pleasant voice came through, ”What do you want in the middle of the night?”

”You’re injured, I can help treat you. It’s cold outside, let me in and we can discuss it,” she said as she turned the doorknob.

”Wait a moment!”

Slight rustling and fabric brushing sounds came from inside the room.

A few minutes later.

Jia Lan said, ”Come in.”

The room wasn’t locked, so Shen Tang pushed the door open and entered, immediately spotting Jia Lan half propped up against the headboard of the bed.

Moonlight filtered in through the window, and his face looked even worse than it had that evening, faintly pale and transparent, making it seem quite unreal.

”What exactly do you want?” Jia Lan glanced coldly at Shen Tang, ”If you’re delivering medicine, just leave it on the table.”

”Ordinary medicine won’t do much for your injury, will it?”

Jia Lan’s face stiffened; he hadn’t expected her to figure that out.

His physique was unique, rejecting ordinary medications, so the available healing medicines were useless for him.

In Shen Tang’s palm, a faint green light gathered, her face showing a gentle smile. ”A few days ago, I accidentally awakened a Healing Ability. Maybe I can help you.”

Seeing the green light in her palm, the icy facade on Jia Lan’s face cracked. This female had unexpectedly awakened a Healing Ability?

Among the Empire’s females, almost all awakened with only spiritual power abilities. Those who awakened with a second superpower were few and far between, and he hadn’t expected Shen Tang to awaken both an Earth Element Ability and a Healing Ability.

How did she manage that?

Shen Tang couldn’t come up with a reasonable explanation, so she decided not to bother and just said she had awakened accidentally.

Let them doubt all they want; she didn’t know the answer, even if they asked.

Jia Lan confirmed several times that her Healing Ability was genuine because even from a distance, he could sense the faint warmth emitted by the green light.

After hesitating for a moment, he pursed his lips and said, ”You can try it.”

Shen Tang noticed his reluctant expression and thought: Since when does a doctor have to beg a patient to accept treatment? This mermaid really doesn’t know what’s good for him!

Fortunately, she had achieved her goal. Shen Tang hurriedly sat by the bed, afraid he’d refuse in the next second.

As Shen Tang moved closer, Jia Lan instinctively recoiled, turning his head away, not even wanting to look at her; even his hair seemed to radiate strong resistance.

Shen Tang was exasperated, ”Come on, brother, I’m here to treat your injury, not take your life, seriously?”

Jia Lan turned his head, a vein throbbing on his forehead, ”Who’s your brother? You’re just a month older than me.”

Shen Tang quickly said, ”Yes, yes, then should I call you little bro?”

Jia Lan’s face looked even worse, and Shen Tang suspected that if it weren’t for her Healing Ability being somewhat useful, this stubborn guy would have told her to get lost right away.

”Just get on with it,” Jia Lan said impatiently, too tired to argue further.

Shen Tang nodded, glancing over him from head to toe, but he was wearing several layers, not even exposing his arms, so she couldn’t determine where his injury was.

She asked, ”Where are you injured?”

Jia Lan’s expression was peculiar, ”Why do you need to know?”

Beastman healers with a Healing Ability could heal from a distance, couldn’t they?

”I’m just a beginner without any practical experience, so I naturally need to see your wound first before I can perform the treatment.”

Jia Lan was at a loss for words.

His exquisite, pale face flushed.

Shen Tang was perplexed.

Why are you blushing like that?

Not quite understanding, she quickly urged him, ”Hurry up and show me your wound.”

Jia Lan pursed his lips, a bit uneasy. After a brief hesitation, he raised his hand and slowly pulled open his shirt.

Oh, so the injury was on his chest.

But soon, he pulled up the hem of his shirt, revealing lean and toned abs.

Then his long, elegant hand moved to the waistband of his pants, loosely curling as if to slowly undo it.

Wait, something seemed off.

Shen Tang’s eyes widened.

Jia Lan’s handsome face turned a deep shade of red. After he unbuckled his waistband, he slowly tugged down the edge of his pants.

Shen Tang jumped up from the bed, eyes wide with shock, ”What are you doing? I’m a law-abiding citizen; I’m not into that kind of transaction!”

She suddenly remembered that this guy’s mating season hadn’t been resolved, could it have been triggered prematurely, and he wanted to do unspeakable things with her?

”What are you thinking?” Jia Lan gritted his teeth, ”You wanted to see the wound; the injury is here.”

Shen Tang was nearly in tears; she only had a Healing Ability, not some miraculous skill for treating male issues.

She almost believed this guy’s injury was somewhere very personal but blushingly took a glance to find the wound was on his lower abdomen.

There was some distance from that place.

The base of Jia Lan’s ears turned deep red, his Adam’s apple bobbed, and he glared at Shen Tang fiercely, ”Close your eyes, don’t look! Otherwise, I’ll gouge out your eyeballs!”

Startled, Shen Tang gulped and pondered aloud, ”If I close my eyes and can’t see, aren’t you afraid I’ll accidentally touch something?”

Jia Lan’s expression went rigid, his handsome face turning alternating shades of red and white.

He shouldn’t have agreed to this shameless female!

”Don’t worry, I have no interest in you; I wouldn’t do anything to you,” Shen Tang said, ”Like I said before, I’m not into skinny guys.”

”You!” Jia Lan was fuming, but it hurt to take a breath, too weak to retaliate.

Shen Tang found it rare to see him looking so weak and thought: The wound must be quite serious, and it’s pretty close; hopefully, it’s not near anything vital; otherwise, how would the female lead enjoy a happy life in the future?

”Shen Tang! Are you looking for trouble?” Seeing the shameless female staring right at his... his, damn it, she was staring as if at his crotch! Jia Lan clenched his fists tightly, his expression menacing.

”I was looking at the wound! The wound! Ever heard of the four diagnostic methods: look, listen, question, and feel?” Shen Tang quickly looked away, sulkily said.

Jia Lan was so exasperated by her shamelessness that he didn’t even know how to curse her anymore. He closed his eyes firmly, not wanting to see her.

”Hurry up and start!”

He feared he might not be able to resist strangling her.

Shen Tang quickly got into the zone, the green glow in her palm growing more intense.

As the green light touched the wound on his abdomen, tissue started to rapidly grow over the broken area, intertwining like surgical stitches, slowly covering the wound.

Jia Lan’s face showed pain, sweat beaded on his forehead.

But gradually, his tightly furrowed brow began to relax, and his body, long dwelling in the deep sea, felt warmth, not only healing the wound but also nourishing his body.

It was indescribably comfortable.

So much so that he... felt a longing for it.
