Help! The Villainess Trapped in the Beast World's Drama!

Chapter 85: Chapter 79: Golden Eagle to the Rescue (Bonus Chapter)

Shen Tang was too lazy to care what that dog man thought, as long as the affinity was increased!

She was just about to turn around and go back inside to make more food, not noticing a tall, thin figure sneaking into the courtyard.

The Beastman tucked his right hand behind his back, tightly holding a sharp dagger that reflected a chilling gleam under the sunlight.

He glared hatefully at Shen Tang’s back, his footsteps silent as a snake, flashing behind her, raising the dagger and striking down, ”Die!”

[Host, watch out, dodge quickly, someone is attacking!]

The system’s alert sounded urgently, almost a second before the dagger struck Shen Tang. Shen Tang bent her waist and rolled on the ground, evading the surprise attack.

Say what you will, cats are certainly flexible. Despite being plump like a pig, her body was incredibly agile!

The Wolf Beast saw his strike fail, his eyes turned blood-red, he swiftly withdrew his knife and lunged at her again.

Shen Tang was scared out of her wits, rolling and crawling to evade the attack once more.

She seized the chance to quickly use her Earth Element Ability, raising a wall of earth from the ground to block the Wolf Beast’s attack.

The Wolf Beast looked shocked, but then his eyes turned even redder. He forcefully pulled out the dagger stuck in the earth wall, kicking the wall to pieces!

The Beastman was a formidable Fourth Rank Beastman, while Shen Tang’s Earth Element Ability was too weak, barely Second Order, she couldn’t win in an ability duel.

Shen Tang screamed for help, scrambling to get up and dashed towards the courtyard gate.

However, the Wolf Beast sneered coldly, lifting a finger. A vine burst from the ground like a snake, wrapping around Shen Tang’s ankle, pulling her to the ground and dragging her back.

”Bitch, I’ll take your life today! For the sake of ridding evil from this world!”

The Wolf Beast raised the blade high, eyes flickering with a mad smile.

Shen Tang was stunned with fear, couldn’t even scream, survival instinct kicked in, and she quickly conjured another earth wall.

The dagger struck decisively into the earth wall.

Soon, the wall cracked, about to crumble.

At that moment, a series of eagle cries, like metal clanging, came from high above. A flash of light, and a Wind Blade cut through the air towards the Wolf Beast.

”Boom!”

The Wolf Beast was blasted several meters away, slamming into the wall and spitting up blood.

Shen Tang quickly broke through the earth wall, looking up in surprise, ”Lu Xiao!”

A massive, cold yet majestic Golden Eagle swooped down to the ground, transforming into an exceptionally tall, impressive man—Lu Xiao, with a tough military buzz cut, piercing grey-blue eyes, and a profoundly structured face indeed.

”Are you hurt?” Lu Xiao looked at her lightly, frowning slightly.

Shen Tang shook her head hurriedly, ”I’m fine!”

Her arm and calf had minor scrapes, nothing serious, didn’t even warrant ointment, they’d be fine in a few days.

Lu Xiao strode over, tied up the Wolf Beast, pressing him in front of her, ”How do you want to handle him, kill him directly?”

Shen Tang looked at the Beastman, who stared at her with fiery eyes, pursing her lips with a complex look, ”Why do you want to kill me?”

The Beastman was furious, face red and neck veins popping, growling fiercely, ”You have the nerve to ask, you bitch! You killed my brother! You leaked military secrets that led to the annihilation of our entire force! I couldn’t even find his body!”

The Wolf Beast glared at Shen Tang venomously, wishing he could rip her to shreds, ”I want to kill you to avenge my brother, you deserve to die!”

Shen Tang understood roughly, this Beastman’s brother was probably a soldier in an army corps, killed because the original owner leaked battlefield secrets, leading to a rebel army ambush, wiping everyone out.

Lu Xiao saw the Beastman was emotional, frowned deeply, and spoke in a low voice, ”No need to keep him around, just kill him to avoid future troubles.”

Seeing Shen Tang silent for a long time, he reminded, ”Even if you let him go, he’ll continue to assassinate you, there’s no point leaving such troubles.”

The hatred accumulated by the Wolf Beast was too deep; it couldn’t be appeased with money, killing him was the only option.

Shen Tang felt like scolding herself as a saint, but this man avenged his brother, not a great evil. Both brothers died because of her and the original owner, she indeed felt somewhat... merciful.

”Forget it, let him go.”

Lu Xiao’s grey eyes showed a hint of surprise.

The Wolf Beast stopped struggling violently, shocked, but continued to glare at Shen Tang venomously, biting until blood oozed from his gums.

Shen Tang faced coldly, ”Publicly assassinating a female, this behavior could be sentenced to death. Today, I spare your life, as a compensation for your brother’s life; I owe you nothing. But if there’s a next time, I won’t let you go. I’ll repay you in kind!”

The Wolf Beast’s expression froze, perhaps unsure what expression to make.

Shen Tang glanced at Lu Xiao, signaling him to release the Beastman.

Lu Xiao’s gaze fell on her face, eyes twitched slightly, then nodded silently, releasing the Wolf Beast’s restraints.

The Wolf Beast collapsed on the ground, his legs nearly severed by the Wind Blade, flesh hanging, bone exposed. But for a Beastman’s strong recovery ability, it wasn’t a fatal wound.

The Wolf Beast looked complexly at Shen Tang, said nothing, then turned his head, limping away.

Lu Xiao turned his head towards Shen Tang, ”Aren’t you afraid he’ll come back after his wounds heal?”

Shen Tang shook her head, ”I’ve agreed with the City Lord, he only allowed us five days in the city. By the time he heals, we’ll be long gone, never seeing each other in this lifetime.”

”No wonder you let him go so easily,” Lu Xiao said, ”But such things won’t happen just once. The first time leads to a second, while the shelter restricts freedom, it also protects your safety in some ways.”

Shen Tang naturally understood Lu Xiao’s meaning, thinking leaving the shelter would start a new life, not realizing leaving was the beginning of a nightmare.

She couldn’t be too soft-hearted; if all her assassins were forgiven, she’d be digging her own grave.

”Hmm! I understand.” Shen Tang felt tangled inside, taking each day as it comes.

”Making dinner?” Lu Xiao glanced into the house, naturally smelling the enticing aroma of meat.

”Hmm, you came just in time, it’s right at mealtime!”

Shen Tang’s mood shifted quickly, smiling brightly, ”If you came half an hour later, there’d be no food left.”

Lu Xiao’s gaze lingered on Shen Tang’s face, observing her change, he still said nothing more, then asked, ”Where’s Xiao Jin?”

They had contacted each other before, knowing Xiao Jin was the only one beside Shen Tang now.

Considering the urgency just now, Lu Xiao recalled how much the leopard once despised Shen Tang, thinking he did it deliberately.

Shen Tang waved her hand hastily, ”No, I saw some stray cubs were quite pitiful, so I made some food for Xiao Jin to deliver. I didn’t expect someone would come to assassinate me in such a short time.”

She knew she attracted hatred, but didn’t expect herself to be so hated!
