Help! The Villainess Trapped in the Beast World's Drama!

Chapter 59: Chapter 53: The Mermaid’s Heat Cycle

Shen Tang listened to the ticking sound in her head, like a ticking time bomb, wishing she could pull out the dog system and give it a good beating.

What kind of crappy task is it issuing!

Each one is trickier than the last!

”Change the task, I can’t take this one.” Shen Tang’s temple throbbed.

The system was persuasive, [Mermaids experience an intense mating season after reaching adulthood, meant to be calmed by bonding with the host. However, since his marriage, he has been in a suppressed state. In recent months, Jia Lan’s mating season is becoming harder to control, and due to the mental upheaval triggered during an external siege last time, his body was forced into a premature mating state. He is currently suffering and urgently needs soothing.]

[Now is the perfect opportunity, host. Seize the moment, as the chance won’t come again!]

Shen Tang’s eyelids twitched wildly, suddenly feeling like the dog system was akin to a brothel madam enthusiastically introducing her enchanting top choice, enticing her as the customer to take advantage.

”Hah, if he hadn’t disliked the original host, he wouldn’t have suffered for it; otherwise, based on the original host’s wolf-like nature, she would’ve taken care of him by now. You, the host, can’t even enter his house.” Shen Tang’s expression was indifferent, completely unmoved.

She frowned slightly, recalling the original plot. Jia Lan, different from other male leads, was an important character emerging in the later Chapters, barely mentioned early on except for when he returned to New Atlantis after the original host’s tragic death.

Years later, a coup occurred in the deep sea, and Jia Lan was crowned the new Sea Emperor.

It was rumored this Sea Emperor was powerful and tyrannical, imprisoned many beautiful females in the deep palace. The female lead was one of his strong-arm conquests. The subsequent drama was equally cliché—a one-sentence summary: the stallion male lead turns back for the female lead.

Unexpectedly, this indulgent tyrant was once tormented by his mating season in his youth.

Shen Tang sighed silently, curling her lips in disdain, ”Doesn’t he have a little lover at the shelter? Seems like her name is Gu Lian. He can go to that female to relieve his mating season; it’s none of my business.”

[Jia Lan doesn’t fancy Gu Lian. He is still a virgin. Host, seize the opportunity; winning the heart of this young Sea Emperor would be a significant weapon.]

Shen Tang was surprised; she thought that given the future Sea Emperor’s promiscuity, the two would have secretly consummated long ago, but unexpectedly he’s still untouched.

Recalling Jia Lan’s disdain towards her, Shen Tang’s mouth twitched slightly. If she dared to take advantage, that appearance-obsessed mermaid would definitely kill her once he sobered up!

[Host, the countdown has only 2 hours and 37 minutes left. Traveling is estimated to take an hour and a half. Please set off immediately to the task location.]

The system’s voice urged ominously in her mind.

Shen Tang couldn’t silence it even if she wanted to.

Although the task was somewhat annoying, the reward was quite tempting. Shen Tang needed some protective gear, so she mustered up the courage to proceed.

On the other side, things at Jia Lan’s home were not calm; the sound of things breaking echoed, the floor was a mess, and a trail of blood snaked all the way to the bathroom.

Thud!

A splash resonated.

The young man fell entirely into the water-filled bathtub, and the blood from his arm wound quickly tinted the water pale red.

He curled his body, face pale, brows tightly furrowed in pain, surrounded by a faint dark aura.

Damn it, his mating season was becoming uncontrollable.

Since returning from the contaminated zone, Jia Lan locked himself in his house, barely stepping out these days, refusing to see outsiders.

That fat woman repeatedly tried to harass him, it was utterly annoying.

He’d rather cut his hand to stay sane than ask her for help.

Suddenly, Jia Lan heard the sound of the door opening outside, and he opened his deep blue eyes, thinking it was that fat woman again. But upon checking the doorway monitor, he saw it was Gu Lian.

The young man’s expression was icy, unaware of a slight sense of loss that flickered in his heart.

How did this female get in?

Jia Lan suddenly remembered using Gu Lian to leave the contaminated zone and coincidentally gave her a key to his room. His expression turned unsightly... of all times, now was when she arrived, and his pathetic state mustn’t be seen by outsiders.

Rising from the bathtub, he headed to the living room.

Gu Lian turned around seeing the young man approach, showing a gentle smile, but seeing his messy, drenched appearance, she bit her lip uneasily, ”Ah Lan, are you feeling unwell?”

She stepped forward, trying to hold his hand, but Jia Lan brusquely threw her off, such force almost knocked her over, shocked and hurt by his cold demeanor.

Jia Lan, ”I said don’t disturb me these days; why are you here?”

”I thought you came back from the battlefield recently, haven’t received mental comfort yet, so I wanted to help you.” Gu Lian looked pitifully at him, eyes full of concern, while secretly rejoicing; she touched his skin, burning hot like fire, unlike the usual cool temperature of mermaids.

Just as she suspected, Jia Lan entered mating season early.

Male beasts in mating season are most fragile, yearning for female comfort.

Today’s the chance to win him over!

Gu Lian feigned surprise, looking more gentle and adoring, ”Did your mating season come early?”

”...”

”Oh right, I came to tell you I’ve accumulated enough redemption points to leave the contaminated zone tomorrow.” Gu Lian made it seem for his sake, coaxing gently, ”Just sleep with me tonight, and I can apply to the Empire to have you leave with me too.”

”Sleep with you?” Jia Lan’s gaze landed on her, lips curling into a sneer, ”Are you worthy? Ridiculous, trying to eat swan meat. Before, you third-rate trash wasn’t even worth my glance.”

”What did you say?” Gu Lian’s expression froze instantly, her face stung as if slapped fiercely.

The usually gentle young man now looked at her with unfamiliar coldness, ”Really thought I fancied you? Touching you disgusts me to the core.”

These ugly deceitful females aren’t worth one of my strands of hair, yet dare obsess over me?

Gu Lian’s face turned ashen, unwilling to accept his repulsion, realizing his past kindness was pretend. He used her to leave the contaminated zone, never intended to be with her!

Gu Lian saw the young man’s eyes suddenly become a magnificent crimson, sensing danger, she fled.

But her feet seemed nailed to the ground, gazing into those magnificent eyes, her soul seemed absorbed, eyes hollow, she instinctively opened her terminal, ready to submit the application list.

But the next moment, the young man swayed and collapsed heavily onto the floor.

Immediately, that soul-captivating power vanished.

Gu Lian snapped back, realizing it was the legendary mermaid’s Spiritual Illusion Technique, increasing her fear and anxiety.

If Jia Lan could easily cast an illusion on her, it means he’s definitely used it before!

These days, she’s been entirely deceived by this mermaid!

Gu Lian’s heart roared with fury, unwillingly glare at the half-kneeling young man, smirking coldly, ”Hah, don’t want to be with me, then never leave this place.”

”Without me, you won’t survive the night.”

With that, Gu Lian turned and left, she heard how surging terrifying a mermaid’s mating season can be, without female comfort very likely to die in agony!

Jia Lan will have no choice but to obediently beg her!

Just imagining the noble Mermaid Prince kneeling at her feet, begging in pain, being humiliated by her at will, Gu Lian’s heart swelled with satisfaction, laughing boldly.

”Hahahaha... Jia Lan, I await you tonight begging like a dog!”

The door closed again, plunging the room into darkness, the young man pale, the fallen hair across his forehead shrouding his eyes, dim and unclear.

He leaned against the wall to get up, intending to search the drawer for inhibitors, but suddenly everything went black and he fell to the ground.
