Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 855: Chapter 568: Transformation Complete

Three days later.

The Milky Way Galaxy welcomed a very important day.

Today was the day the Galaxy Alliance held a funeral for thousands of fallen super-soldiers.

The Galaxy Alliance would hold the highest level “Star Burial” funeral for these fallen warriors.

Star Burial is not about burying people inside a star or planet, but about creating an artificial “Meritorious Asteroid” for the fallen heroes, which would then be placed around the designated “Heroic Starry Sky Park” for all the billions of species in the Galaxy to pay their respects.

It is certainly impossible to create over five thousand artificial asteroids in just a few days.

Therefore, today the Galaxy Alliance will only hold the funeral at this level, and gradually create the artificial asteroids one by one in the future.

Because the “Star Burial” is of such a high level, the funeral will be broadcasted throughout the Milky Way Galaxy.

For instance, at this moment, the official TV stations of various countries on Earth are broadcasting this magnificent funeral.

On the screen, white ceremonial ships are arranged in an inverted “V” formation, slowly advancing towards the “Heroic Starry Sky Park”.

These white ceremonial ships continuously fire star-colored salutes from the cannons on the top and sides.

Every time a salute explodes, it presents an image.

And the image is the likeness of a fallen super-soldier.

On Earth.

Countless people watched this scene, feeling a heavy heart.

Because everyone knows that these super-soldiers were Earthlings, and they sacrificed their precious lives to protect the peace of the Milky Way Galaxy.

Countless websites turned from color to black and white to show respect.

Today, all entertainment programs on Earth were paused.

Whether it’s variety shows, films, or games, none are active.

People are spontaneously holding memorial services.

For example, “cenotaphs” have been established in the hometowns of each fallen hero.

Many ordinary people went to the “cenotaphs,” spontaneously offering flowers, lighting incense, burning paper, and many even weeping bitterly there.

If the number of these fallen heroes is a bit overwhelming, and their hometowns are dispersed, making it difficult to visit them all at once.

Then, these scenes are all available online, easily found, and you can see the whole picture.

For example, a famous short video site has set up a dedicated album.

Many netizens are liking and commenting on this album.

Especially the album dedicated to the leader of the super-soldier legion, Wang Yu, which garnered over thirty million likes and more than five million comments.

“Salute to the heroes!”

“Thank you for your tremendous contributions to the Milky Way Galaxy!”

“With you protecting us, we can live in peace.”

“Immortal souls will never fade, reflecting the vast sky, eternally in our hearts.”

There are many similar quotes, all expressing sincere and sorrowful tributes from their hearts.

Of course, besides these tributes, many people are discussing today’s “Star Burial”.

For example, on Weibo, a well-known influencer opened a post titled “Do You Want the Heroes to Return Home?”.

The post had only two options.

First, hope so.

Second, bury them in the Heroic Starry Sky Park.

The result showed that the proportion voting for the first option reached as high as ninety percent.

There were also many comments below.

“They are heroes of the entire Milky Way but they are also our Earthlings.”

“We, in Huaxia, value returning to one’s roots, resting in the ground. I think they would also wish to return to their homeland for burial.”

“Alas, the dead cannot be resurrected. No matter where they are buried, as long as people remember their great contributions to the Galaxy, their sacrifice is not in vain.”

“Yeah, once dead, there is no resurrection.”

Originally, the comments were quite normal until the discussion took a sudden turn, unwittingly led astray.

“Hey, do you think the ‘Eternal Star Lord’ can resurrect the dead?”

“Uh, it’s hard to say. Although the ‘Eternal Star Lord’ has displayed incredible powers, it seems he hasn’t shown any Immortal Technique for resurrection so far, right?”

“Seems like it. When the Spiritual Race invaded Earth, we also lost many people. Although the ‘Eternal Star Lord’ eventually destroyed the enemy’s warships, he did not revive the deceased, so it’s highly possible that the ‘Eternal Star Lord’ cannot resurrect the dead.”

“No way? With powers unparalleled in the cosmos, he can’t revive a person?”

“Right, I don’t believe the ‘Eternal Star Lord’ can’t resurrect people.”

“Whether you believe or not, the fact is that despite the ‘Eternal Star Lord’s’ dazzling exploits, he indeed hasn’t revived anyone.”

“Don’t imagine things—resurrecting people isn’t related to power.”

“Exactly, do you think resurrection is possible?”

“Stop dreaming. While some might be possible after a false death, reviving after brain death is beyond even immortal beings, let alone some super-soldiers whose bodies were crushed to mush by the iron-based lifeform called ‘Extinction’. Some are just a heap of meat, some slightly better with bodies in pieces, only a small number have intact bodies. Please, in such circumstances, how can they be restored to their original state?”

“While the greatness of the ‘Eternal Star Lord’ is beyond doubt, and I do believe he possesses the power to resurrect the dead, reviving bodies turned to minced flesh or piles of meat is nearly a pipe dream.”

A group of netizens expressed their opinions.

Some people think that resurrecting the dead is simply impossible.
