117: Chapter 117 Echoes, Orders and the Authority of SilenceIn the final moments of the ”Million Piano Marathon,” the plaza in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art was dyed gold by the sunset. The piano truck stood still, and the ten contestants stood side-by-side next to it. The global live stream viewership was locked at twenty million, everyone holding their breath in anticipation.

Alex did not board the truck; instead, he walked to the front of the crowd and picked up a simple microphone. His voice was clear and calm as it projected through the top-tier sound system:

”Over the past hundred hours, we have witnessed ten lives written with musical notes. According to the rules, this one-million-dollar prize will be distributed in full to our ten ’Echo Warriors’.”

Thunderous applause erupted, and the contestants embraced each other, weeping. This was the fulfillment of a promise, a moment of pure joy.

But Alex raised his hand, pressing down the wave of sound, and his tone took a steady turn:

”However, the ripples created by this journey go far beyond this. Besides the prize money, the continuous and substantial revenue generated by this event—after covering all costs, ensuring team returns, and setting aside funds for future development—still leaves a significant surplus.”

The LED screen behind him did not show specific numbers; it only displayed rising curves and stylized text reading ”Sustainable Revenue,” avoiding a display of wealth or overexposure of financial details.

”Today, my team and I have decided to use this surplus as seed funding to establish a permanent foundation—the ’Sound of Echoes’.”

The screen displayed the foundation’s blueprint: focusing on four major sectors—music therapy, psychological support for veterans, community music education, and innovative tech-art incubation—with a transparent and rigorous structure.

”These ten warriors will become the foundation’s first honorary consultants and brand ambassadors. Their life stories are the best footnotes for the foundation’s spirit.” Alex looked at the ten contestants, his gaze sincere yet measured. ”We will also invite professionals from relevant fields to form a decision-making committee to ensure every cent is used effectively, letting this Echo that began with music continue to nourish more corners that need it.”

The brilliance of the strategy lay in this: the prize money was paid as promised, establishing integrity; the surplus was turned to charity, showing grand vision; the contestants were given honorary status rather than decision-making power, showing respect while controlling risk; and a professional committee operated it, ensuring efficiency and credibility. The applause at the scene was like a tide, and the media focus instantly shifted to ”the sublimation from commercial success to social responsibility.” The brand value and social reputation of the ”Voice of Truth” platform and ”Flashpoint” reached new heights.

At almost the same time, an encrypted email with a special digital signature arrived at ”Echo Vision.” The body contained only one sentence: ”Prototype purchase order approved. Technical integration team arriving within 72 hours. Congratulations.”

This brief sentence carried immense weight. It meant that the ”Adaptive Performance System” was now viewed as a standardized capability and equipment, incorporated into the supply chain of a high-threshold system. Its symbolic significance and invisible barriers far exceeded commercial profits. Rex commented in an internal briefing: ”We’ve got the ticket; the real game begins now.”

The sniping from their commercial rival, ”Summit Creative Group,” appeared weak under this double halo. The ”tax clouds” they tried to hype up collapsed on their own in the face of the rigorous and transparent structure of the ”Sound of Echoes” foundation; the argument that ”contestants were being exploited” became a joke in front of the ten smiling ”ambassadors” who had received both honor and substantial rewards.

Alex didn’t even publicly refute them. He simply had his team release a carefully edited short film: warm scenes of the ten ”Echo Ambassadors” interacting with children while visiting the first proposed music therapy center. Genuine emotional resonance is the strongest PR weapon.

Summit Creative’s poaching offensive also met with failure. Alex had already had the legal and financial teams prepare lucrative ”long-term cooperation and brand endorsement agreements” for each contestant. These were worth far more than the simple brokerage contracts Summit offered and seamlessly integrated with their new ”ambassador” status and charitable image. Under the dual guarantee of material benefit and sentiment, no one wavered.

According to information Hank obtained through special channels, Summit Creative had internally reclassified Alex’s ecosystem as a ”highly competitive system requiring reassessment,” and their offensive significantly slowed down.

”city of instantaneity” began filming quietly in the suburbs of New York. Although Alex did not attend, he sent a special gift: a clapperboard made from treated wood taken from the piano truck that had crossed America, engraved with the words ”Capture the Instant, Become Eternal.” The gift was presented by Sophia Chen, cleverly linking the spirit of the ”Echo Challenge” with the film’s theme and injecting an extra sense of ritual into the crew.

Late at night, in his Los Angeles home. The clamor had faded, and Alex sat alone in his study. He summoned the system interface.

【Influence Event Settlement】

· ’Million Piano Marathon’ concluded perfectly with the ’Prize payout + Surplus to charity fund + Honorary status binding’ model (a trinity of integrity, vision, and risk control)

· ’Adaptive System’ obtained prototype purchase order, stepping into a strategic-level threshold (qualitative change in technical barriers)

· Commercial rival’s sniping neutralized invisibly (defense built with material benefit and sentiment)

· ’city of instantaneity’ began filming and completed spiritual connection (project ecosystem mutual nurturing)

【Fame Points Gained: +5,100,000 points】

【Current Available Fame: 18,530,030 points】

(Historical Total: 84,530,030 points)

The historical total had broken eighty-four million. Only one final sprint remained to reach the hundred-million-point threshold.

Alex’s gaze was calm. The power within him lay dormant, and his newly acquired [Information Node Implantation] ability was like spider silk in the dark night—hidden yet effective. Secular authority—music, technology, capital, public opinion, and social influence—had been woven by him into a web that was both resilient and elegant.

But after one hundred million points, what would those options ”involving more fundamental rule levels” mean? Would it be more direct intervention in reality, or a more subtle definition of rules?

He knew he needed an ”ultimate event” that was more concentrated, more explosive, and more era-defining than the ”Million Challenge” to cross this final distance. It had to be a symphony of all his powers: the aurora of the tour’s finale, the shock of the movie’s premiere, the public debut of his technology, and perhaps... an unnoticed yet profound application of ”extraordinary” power.

A vast and precise outline gradually became clear in his mind. It would be a coordinate, a ritual to demonstrate new rules to the old world while opening a new dimension for himself.

He closed the system, and the room returned to silence. Outside the window, the lights of Los Angeles were like a galaxy hanging upside down.

Beneath this sea of stars, Alex Su sat as still as an abyss.

In his hands, he already held multiple authorities to shape reality.

In his heart, he was drawing the ultimate blueprint to reconstruct certain rules.

And that door leading to a higher dimension was already within reach.

He slowly inhaled, then exhaled gently.

His breath was steady, yet it seemed to pull at the strings of an invisible world.
