Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures

The Death Eaters dodged Harry’s Stunning Spell and sped towards him.

Their brooms were faster than Hagrid’s motorbike, closing in on them.

“These guys are tough! Hold on, Harry, this’ll do for ’em!” roared Hagrid. “Show them me secret weapon! Gonna shoot!”

“Shoot?!”

Harry looked up just in time to see Hagrid slamming a thick finger into a green button near the fuel gauge, the very one Mr. Weasley had warned him to use with caution. He instinctively gripped the sidecar, and with a deafening roar, a wall, a solid brick wall, erupted out of the exhaust pipe.

Craning his neck, Harry saw it expand into being in midair.

Three of the Death Eaters swerved and avoided it, but the fourth was not so lucky: He vanished from view and then dropped like a boulder from behind it, his broomstick broken into pieces. One of his fellows slowed up to save him, but they and the airborne wall were swallowed by darkness as Hagrid leaned low over the handlebars and sped up.

More Killing Curses flew past Harry’s head from the two remaining Death Eaters’ wands; they were aiming for Hagrid. Harry responded with further Stunning Spells: Red and green collided in midair in a shower of multicolored sparks, and Harry thought wildly of fireworks, and the Muggles below who would have no idea what was happening —

“Here we go again, Harry, hold on!” yelled Hagrid, and he jabbed at a second button. “FIRE! FIRE! Hit ’em!”

This time a great net burst from the bike’s exhaust, but the Death Eaters were ready for it. Not only did they swerve to avoid it, but the companion who had slowed to save their unconscious friend had caught up.

He bloomed suddenly out of the darkness and now three of them were pursuing the motorbike, all shooting curses after it.

“Anything else, Hagrid!” Harry shouted, turning around. “Quick, shoot something more.”

“Leave it ter me, this’ll do it,” yelled Hagrid. “This is the most powerful one ever, it’ll definitely hit ‘em. Hold on, Harry!”

Harry saw him slam his whole hand onto the purple button beside the speedometer. With an absolutely deafening roar, the entire motorbike began to tremble violently.

Then, dragon fire burst from the exhaust, white-hot and blue, and the motorbike shot forward like a bullet with a sound of wrenching metal.

This was amazing!!!

Harry had never imagined Hagrid could fire off such fierce flames. It was like a dragon’s breath, but even deadlier. He saw the Death Eaters swerve out of sight to avoid the deadly trail of flame, and at the same time felt the sidecar sway ominously: Its metal connections to the bike had splintered with the force of acceleration.

Disaster. The flame blast had been too intense — the motorbike couldn’t bear it.

Whether the Death Eaters were finished, Harry didn’t know, but he was about to be finished.

Meanwhile, as Hagrid was triumphantly firing off weapons and Harry was falling into danger, Evan and Sirius were also being chased by dozens of Death Eaters. Because of Sirius’s identity — and the massive commotion Evan had caused — they were being pursued by the largest group.

Turning back, they could see a huge swarm of Death Eaters stretching as far as the eye could see. …

According to the plan, Evan and Sirius had meant to stay behind a while longer to cover everyone else’s escape. But the number of Death Eaters closing in on them was too great. They had no choice but to break through, nearly at the same moment Hagrid and Harry had burst out.

If they had stayed any longer, they would have become moving targets.

High in the air, Evan waved his wand, casting spells while maneuvering his broomstick to dodge incoming curses — a difficult and clumsy balance.

This wasn’t his preferred fighting style, and he wasn’t a skilled flyer.

Below, the earth and streets whirled past him.

The Muggles who had just come out for an evening walk after dinner were looking up, staring in amazement at the chase taking place in the sky.

Evan even heard a woman yelling, “Aliens!” Continuing forward, a few brainless idiots were still yelling things like “E.T.” and “Deep Space Nine.” He really wanted to go down and give each of them a good Bat-Bogey Hex. They were clearly wizards, not aliens, and this wasn’t some spaceship from outer space!

But in reality, Evan was far from being so relaxed.

The speed of the flight made him feel a little nauseous and dizzy.

Sirius was faring better; he flew well and was able to carry Evan along with him.

But even he looked quite disheveled trying to dodge the onslaught of Killing Curses flying at them from every direction.

The two of them barely managed a counterattack, their spells colliding with the incoming green light, leaving streaks of multicolored sparks in the sky behind them. Evan used no other magic; his target wasn’t the Death Eaters; he was waiting for Voldemort!

If these Death Eaters believed he was the real Harry, then Voldemort would surely appear.

Their actions tonight were clearly planned; Voldemort couldn’t fail to arrive; he wouldn’t miss this opportunity to kill Harry.

But time passed, and Voldemort still didn’t appear.

“Something’s wrong, Sirius!” he shouted.

“What?”

“Voldemort hasn’t appeared. He’s not following our group. We’re going back.”

Evan knew their group’s primary mission was to lure Voldemort out and cover the other groups’ escape.

If their only goal was to break through the siege, they could have done that easily. But Voldemort hadn’t appeared, which could only mean — he went after another group.

There was still time to turn back. Evan slowed his broom down, and behind him he could hear the delighted shouts of the Death Eaters.

He raised his wand and cast spells rapidly, sending bursts of red light shooting out.

Evan fired with astonishing frequency and quantity…

The red light clashed with incoming green curses, erupting into dazzling sparks in midair. But this time, those sparks didn’t simply fizzle out like before.

“One… two… three…” Evan whispered.

His wand flicked upward in succession, each motion precise. He triggered all the sparks in turn, transforming them into truly devastating explosions.

BOOM. BOOM. BOOM-RUMBLE!

Amidst the resounding rumble, the entire scene plunged into chaos.

Many Death Eaters were caught in the blast, unable to dodge, and were directly struck, falling from the sky. Evan and Sirius turned their brooms and flew back.

Under the gaze of numerous Death Eaters and Muggles, Evan raised his wand and waved it vigorously in the air. The next second, all the flames in the sky began to converge in his direction, forming a rope of fire — no, a giant fiery serpent.

It rapidly expanded and grew, like a Basilisk, or perhaps a mythical dragon, then transformed into a blazing inferno that scorched everything in its path.

“Oh my God, this must be a Terminator, he’s returned from the future!” a Muggle boy gawked at the astonishing fire in the sky, speaking in awe.

“I knew it! I knew it! What model is that kid?”

“Can a Terminator emit flames? He’s obviously Iron Man, okay?”

“Idiot! Did you see him wearing a suit of armor? If you ask me, he’s gotta be Ghost Rider.”

“Nah, that hero’s too obscure — probably died off long ago. I think he’s the Human Torch!”
