Rebirth of the Godly Prodigal

Following Hong Weiguo’s words, the entire Hongwu Villa erupted.

The old butler changed to a new outfit—a washed and starched snow-white shirt, a black knot-tie, a well-ironed black Chinese tunic suit, well-ironed black pants, and a pair of shiny black leather shoes. Coupled with his seemingly never-bending body, he was commanding all the manpower available. “All of you, listen up! Young Master Dali’s body condition has turned for the better. Master plans to celebrate today! Whoever messes up can just pack your luggage and leave!

“The tulip there has already withered, change a new pot! The curtain over there doesn’t match with the overall coloration. Change it for a dark-red one to look more festive. Have the ceiling lights been cleaned? Pay attention to the blind spots at the back.

“Damn it, who cleaned this table, why is there an oil stain on it? Get a clean cloth and wipe it repeatedly, do you hear me!”

As the butler of the entire Hongwu Villa, an elite groomed from Heavenly State’s aristocratic family of butlers, his piercing eyes could pick out any discrepancy.

At this moment, Hong Weiguo and Lan Ruoxi were inside the study room on the third floor. This was the most important room in the entire villa. In addition to countless books and documents, there was also a large blackboard that was filled with seemingly balderdash languages.

If an outsider were to see this, they would not even waste time glancing at this large blackboard, because everything else in this study room was worth much more than this thing that shouldn’t belong here.

Only the core members of the Hong family knew that this blackboard was worth more than 10 times the entire villa added up. The reason was simple: all of Hong Weiguo’s sudden inspirations and ideas to make money would be written on this blackboard. From 22 years old, when he had started enterprising all the way till today, the ideas on this blackboard had earned him at least 15 billion yuan. The actual value would only be more than this, not less.

It was not an exaggeration to say that any group of Chinese characters on this blackboard, if seen by someone with the intention and capability to decipher Hong Weiguo’s true ideas, coupled with a suitable amount of capital, would be sufficient for one to live the rest of their life very comfortably. Maybe even their next life and their next next life would not have to worry about money.

This was the true value of this blackboard.

But now, without any hesitation, Hong Weiguo held up the blackboard eraser, cleared a space of one square meter in the center of the blackboard, and meticulously wrote these few words: “2014.4.22, Dali is healthy.”

Just this short sentence replaced information that was worth at least two billion yuan.

After writing these words, Hong Weiguo—whose spine had never bent before—walked to the window and slowly squatted down. Eyes squinted, he hummed a tune and smoked, causing a cloud of smoke to surround him.

Lan Ruoxi looked on with tears in her eyes.

She had only twice seen Hong Weiguo’s action of carefreely squatting down, humming, and smoking in all these years that they had walked together. The first time had been 26 years ago, when they had gotten engaged, and the second had been 19 years ago, when he had heard that she was pregnant.

Very quickly, he finished smoking the cigarette. Hong Weiguo looked at Lan Ruoxi, smiled, and said, “Today is the happiest day in these few years. Since Dali likes to play so much, and his body is much better now, why don’t I deposit another 50 million yuan into his card to let him play as he pleases?”

Lan Ruoxi rolled her eyes at him and said, “You’re so happy that you have lost your senses? Although we’re not unwilling to give him this money, there is no need to give him so much all at once. Fifty million yuan is not a small amount, it would be bad for him if someone targeted him for this money. Let’s just give him five million yuan first. That should be enough for him to spend for a few days. We can give him more after he finishes spending it.”

“OK, I shall listen to you.” Hong Weiguo laughed loudly and said, “As long as his body condition can change for the better, even if I have to waste five billion yuan, it is worth it!”

…

Naturally, Hong Dali was oblivious to the uproar back home. Currently, he was happily squandering.

The normally empty car park of the Ye Lai Xiang nightclub was practically a miniature car exhibition today. Various kinds of top-notch sports cars were lined up in as many as three rows. They were of various colors, from limousines to SUVs to top-notch sports cars—everything that one could imagine could be found here. This sight could totally blind the eyes of passersby.

Those with interest in cars could easily tell the value of these cars. It was not an exaggeration to say that the value of these cars added up was worth at least as much as two Ye Lai Xiang nightclubs, which was about 16 million yuan. Changing that to the RMB from Hong Dali’s previous life, that was a total value of about 80 million yuan.

How much was 80 million actually worth? One could buy 20 Lamborghinis that were worth 4 million yuan each, or 40 Land Rovers, which meant one for every classmate in Hong Dali’s class.

One could observe the degree of lavishness through this.

Inside Ye Lai Xiang.

“Big Bro Dali, this nightclub that you bought isn’t too bad. Hehe, the decorations and facilities and so are all quite complete.” Being Hong Dali’s trusted sidekick, Ling Yi naturally wouldn’t hold back his compliments for Hong Dali.

“From what Small Master 1 sees, this place is vigorous with purple color and dazzling with golden lights. This is entirely Dali’s tempo!” Du Xinzhen pretentiously said, shaking and swaying his head as he said so.

Zhu Xiaoling, whose hair was tied into a ponytail, enviously said, “Young Master Dali is indeed capable. It cost massive efforts for me to ask for a few hundred thousand from my family, while Young Master Dali easily forked out eight million yuan or so to buy this nightclub. You’re really awesome!”

Lang Hao had always disliked Hong Dali’s squandering ways. He stood at one side and scorned in a small voice, “Such squandering ways, I will definitely not learn from him. There isn’t much of a crowd here, and the location is average. I don’t have high regards for this place.”

Standing beside him, Wen Dongling violently pinched him and said, “Young Master Dali normally doesn’t care to be bothered with you. Can you just keep your mouth to yourself?”

Lang Hao shrugged and said, “OK, just take it that I’m jealous of him… But seriously speaking, the wine here is not bad.” He waved his hand at the attendant standing at the side. “What is the best wine that you have here? Give me two bottles!”

Wen Donglin stamped her feet violently. “I can’t be bothered with you anymore. You’re an embarrassment!”

It was worth saying that due to this class gathering, Hong Dali got to know some of his classmates. It was impractical to ask him to remember the names of everyone in one night, but just remembering the names of a few that were close to him was not a problem. For example, Ling Yi, who was always willing to follow him around; Du Xinzhen, who always addressed himself as small master; Zhu Xiaoling, who looked up to Hong Dali as an idol; Lang Hao, who always disliked how Hong Dali squandered; Lang Hao’s girlfriend, Wen Dongling, and so on.

Cliques were present anywhere, and Hong Dali was quite sure that these people were the ones in his clique.

Just as he thought of this, Ling Xiaoyi secretly came over and whispered into his ears: “Young Master, there are two people who want to see you; a guy and a lady. Do you want to see them?
