Rebirth of the Godly Prodigal

At the same time, in Hongwu Villa.

Hong Weiguo stood in front of the Tianjing City map, analyzing the surroundings of the mountain that Hong Dali intended to buy.

Lan Ruoxi sat on the sofa and, smiling, asked, “Why does Dali suddenly want to buy a mountain? Although the surroundings are not bad, there isn’t much potential, is there?”

“Um, this is different from Ye Lai Xiang. It is not worth developing.” Hong Weiguo looked at the map again carefully, frowning. “Ye Lai Xiang is surrounded by a residential downtown area. The land is worth a lot. This place is different. Within a radius of four miles, there is only this bald mountain. Plus, there’s Fengyuan Lake, which covers about 4,000 square meters. It is barely enough to build a small park.”

“Um, the main problem is that there isn’t much space to expand development even if we want to. It is too small for a park. It will be tough to earn back what is invested.” Lan Ruoxi said. “That’s why the government doesn’t have any good plans for this place. Even if there are official documents to develop Four Loops into a business district, nothing is decided yet. And even if it were decided, who knows how long it will take before they start to work on it.”

Hong Weiguo scanned the map again and said, “Speaking of which, this place isn’t half bad. Look at this hilltop, it is slightly to the north of West Four Loops. It is connected to Outer Four Loops Zhuangshi Highway, the most remote corner of West Four Loops. About two kilometers to the west is Tianjing Mountain, which is connected to Hongwu Mountain. Due to the rough terrain, it is hard to build any large-scale buildings. It’s a big investment with small returns. The usual property developers are not fond of this piece of land.”

“So the surrounding land is cheap?” Lan Ruoxi reasoned.

“The land is cheap, but it’s difficult to develop.” Hong Weiguo smiled bitterly. “It’s typical chicken-rib topography, tasteless yet a pity to discard.”

“So what if it’s a chicken rib. Dali likes it.” Lan Ruoxi walked toward Hong Weiguo slowly and put her arm around his. “Anyway, the land is not expensive. Let him buy it if he likes. In the future, if this place opens up for development, there should at least be some benefits.”

Hong Weiguo laughed and said, “Haha, since you have spoken, then it is decided. I will have someone check the price at the Land and Resources Bureau tomorrow. Old Jiang has mentioned it too. The place shouldn’t be too bad. If Dali wants to fool around, then let him do it. When we finally build a summer resort, it will be nice to relax there.”

…

Of course, Hong Dali was not aware of this discussion at home. He was with his nine lackeys, his driver Wang Mingyu, and Tang Muxin, walking around the hilltop that would soon be his. They then walked to the side of Fengyuan Lake. Hong Dali nodded his head, content. “Um, this is indeed a nice place. We’ll build a miniature Marshes of Mount Liang. I will become the heavenly king. Xinxin, you’ll be the wife of the heavenly king!”

Tang Muxin’s flushed red as she carried Xiao Xiaobai, the small white panda-looking Chow Chow, in her arms. “Wh… who wants to be the wife of the heavenly king! It’s enough that you fool around, don’t drag me into this with you! You bought such a huge piece of land just so you could call yourself the heavenly king of the mountain?”

Looking all innocent, Hong Dali responded, “Of course!”

To think he so shamelessly admitted it! Tang Muxin suddenly felt weak all over. “What shall we do with you? Forget it, do whatever you want.” Tang Muxin had no idea how to handle Hong Dali’s shamelessness at all.

Hong Dali rubbed his tummy. “Ah, I’m hungry. Let’s go. That’s enough walking dogs. Let’s go eat something.”

He took the lead and walked ahead, leaving behind Wang Mingyu, who was both the driver and his bodyguard. Wang Mingyu paused his steps and looked at Hong Dali’s back. He thought for a moment, then took out his cell phone and made a call.

The call connected quickly, and Wang Mingyu spoke anxiously. “Old Master, I realized something. Something big! It is regarding the Young Master!”

Hong Weiguo got a shock hearing this from his end of the line. He worriedly asked, “What happened to Dali? Calm down and tell me slowly. Should I come over with Ruoxi?”

Wang Mingyu looked at Hong Dali’s back again. He assertively said, “After school today, Young Master said he wanted to walk the dogs. So we came out. We went around Fengyuan Lake, and Young Master didn’t appear tired at all. He even wants to go for dinner now! Old Master, Young Master has always been weak, but he seems much healthier recently. This is good news!”

“R… really?!” Hong Weiguo was full of excitement, his voice trembling.

His wife, Lan Ruoxi, even shouted: “Dali walked such a long distance and didn’t appear tired? Mingyu, are you saying this just to make us happy?”

“It’s true, Madam!” Wang Mingyu was incoherent from the excitement. “It is about 700 meters from Tianyuan Hotel, where the dogs were, to the hilltop here. Seven hundred meters! It’s another 200 meters to Fengyuan Lake, and we even walked around the lake. That would be around one kilometer, almost two kilometers in all! A full two kilometers! I was observing Young Master just now, he didn’t even pant… Oh, no, no, let me recall… He did pant, but he didn’t look tired at all. He’s even walking right at the front, leading everyone back to Tianyuan Hotel!”

“Oh my god… My god…”

Hong Weiguo and Lan Ruoxi were dumbfounded on the other side of the phone line. They knew Hong Dali’s health inside and out. Although he was called Dali1 , that was just a thought. Usually, Hong Dali would pant even after walking just 800 to 900 meters, not to mentioned two kilometers. That was also why they doted on Hong Dali so much. They were afraid that if anything happened to Hong Dali, they would not be able to see him again.

But now they heard how Hong Dali was not even tired after walking two kilometers. This made them more ecstatic than anything else, even more than hearing Mayor Jiang talk about developing Four Loops.

No matter how Hong Dali squandered and fooled around, he was their son, after all. Their only son and only descendant. In an instant, Hong Weiguo’s tears welled up. Lan Ruoxi covered her mouth in disbelief, tears of joy flowing down the sides of her cheeks.

This portrayed the love of parents. Regardless of what their children were like, to them, their children were the most adorable.

Nothing could replace that.

Hong Weiguo clenched the phone and shouted: “Watch him carefully and report to me if anything doesn’t seem right!” After he hung up the phone, Hong Weiguo gathered all his strength and shouted: “Housekeeper! Gather everyone in the villa! Gather here within two minutes. If anyone is not here in two minutes, prepare to pack up and leave!”
