Cutting-edge Technology: I Provide the Brains, the State Provides Everything

76: Breaking news! This time it’s a targeted drug that can conquer cancer! When Lu Chen’s Versailles-esque remark, ”It’s only about a thousand times faster,” clearly echoed through the state conference center, which had fallen into a deathly silence due to extreme shock, via the most advanced sound system.

The entire world lost its voice.

All the Western Alliance reporters who had been frantically clamoring about ”software strangulation” were now as if gripped by an invisible giant hand, their throats fiercely constricted!

One by one, their faces were pale, their bodies trembling violently like sieves, as they looked at the calm young man on the stage, their eyes filled with nothing but endless terror!

Photonic chip?! A thousand times faster than the A18 chip?!

This wasn’t just a dimensionality reduction attack anymore!

This was the Creator God using a Two-Dimensional Foil to clear out a group of primitives still playing in the mud!

It’s over! Everything is completely over!

Their chip hegemony, which they were so proud of and had led the world by decades!

The last and most solid technological barrier they used to choke the people of Xia Nation!

Today!

Before this tiny, crystal-clear chip!

It all became a complete cosmic joke!

Just as the Western Alliance completely fell into doomsday-like panic and despair due to the sudden emergence of the ”photonic chip”.

Our protagonist, Lu Chen, once again played the role of the most leisurely ”hands-off boss”.

He threw all subsequent commercial promotion and public opinion building for the ”photonic chip” to Long Weiguo and his good brother, Wang Peng, who was increasingly becoming a qualified ”capitalist”.

He himself returned to the absolutely quiet and isolated Kunlun Mountain Underground Base.

Because it was time for the weekly, sacred ”refresh” moment again!

[Ding—]

[Jinghai Time, Monday 00:00]

[future technology system has refreshed.]

[Injecting this week’s black technology into the Host]

Boom!

A warm, vast torrent of information filled with the breath of life instantly surged into his brain!

This time, it was no longer cold physics!

Nor was it precise industrial manufacturing!

Instead, it was the ultimate holy grail of all life sciences!

The highest peak in human medical history that countless scientists had struggled for over a hundred years to conquer, yet failed!

[Injection complete.]

[This week’s black technology: Universal Cancer Targeted Miracle Drug (complete version) based on ’gene editing’ and ’nanorobot’ technology]

It’s done!

Lu Chen suddenly opened his eyes!

His deep, starry eyes instantly burst forth with terrifying light, more brilliant and fervent than ever before!

Cancer! This terrifying nightmare that has hung over all of human civilization for hundreds of years!

This synonym for despair that has claimed countless vibrant lives!

Today! It will be completely, by his own hands—

Ended!

”Hahahahahahaha!”

Even Lu Chen’s state of mind, which had long been tempered by various black technologies to be as calm as an ancient well,

Couldn’t help but laugh uproariously to the sky at this moment!

His hearty laughter echoed in the empty laboratory for a long time!

He knew!

The value of this technology could no longer be measured by money!

It represented life! It represented hope!

It was the ultimate gospel, enough to drive all desperate people suffering from illness around the world to madness!

”heavenly craft!”

He took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing his heart that was almost leaping out of his chest!

And issued an order in an unprecedentedly solemn tone!

[Here, Master.]

The ethereal virtual figure instantly appeared before him.

”Immediately!”

”Input the complete clinical data and manufacturing process of the ’Cancer Targeted Miracle Drug’ into your core database!”

”Then, with the highest level of priority!”

”Immediately establish a brand new ’Nuwa’”

”Life Science Project Group!”

[Instruction received.]

heavenly craft nodded.

Her wise eyes also sparkled with unprecedented excitement!

As an artificial intelligence possessing all human knowledge!

She understood better than anyone what conquering cancer truly meant for all of human civilization!

That would be an unprecedented and magnificent evolution of life!

The next day.

When the detailed report on the establishment of the Life Science Project Group, which heavenly craft had rushed to complete overnight, was placed before the Chief.

The entire Meeting Room No. 1

Fell silent. A terrifying silence.

All the bigwigs who usually showed no emotion were now like statues, staring blankly at the familiar yet dazzling terms in the report.

Cancer, gene editing, nanorobots, miracle drug

Their breathing stopped at this moment!

Their hearts skipped a beat at this moment!

They simply couldn’t believe their eyes!

”Is this... is this real?”

A bigwig in charge of the medical and health field spoke with a trembling voice!

He looked at the nearly 100% clinical cure rate simulated by heavenly craft in the report, his cloudy old eyes filled with unbelievable shock!

If this report was true—

What would that mean?!

It meant that their Xia Nation would completely break free from the Western Alliance’s technological monopoly in the biopharmaceutical field!

It meant that their Xia Nation’s annual trillion-yuan medical insurance expenditure would be significantly reduced!

And more importantly!

Their countless ordinary citizens in Xia Nation, living under the terrifying shadow of cancer!

Would be saved!

This was no longer a simple technological breakthrough!

This was a supreme merit, benefiting the present and countless generations to come!

The bigwig in charge of medical care suddenly stood up from his chair!

He looked at the Chief, who was equally shocked, and roared in a hoarse voice:

”I request! Immediately, launch the ’Nuwa’ project!”

”Spare no effort!”

”At all costs!”

”I want this miracle drug!”

”To be released in the shortest possible time!”

”I want all my compatriots in Xia Nation!”

”To never again suffer the torment of that damned illness!”

His impassioned, tearful roar instantly ignited all the bigwigs present!

”I agree! I agree too!”

”Let’s do it!”

”I only have one question!”

The Chief, who had remained silent, suddenly spoke.

His voice wasn’t loud, but it was like a thousand-pound hammer, striking heavily at everyone’s heart!

He looked at all the decision-makers of Xia Nation present and slowly asked:

”After this miracle drug is released—”

”How should we ’repay’ our ’international friends’ who are still frantically dumping their exorbitant ’targeted drugs’ on us?”
