Reborn in the 90s with a Space: Winning Back My Husband

There was no way Lu Cheng was going to let Shen Nian bustle around the kitchen all by herself while he just waited outside!

Even if he didn’t do anything, he’d much rather be with Shen Nian, just watching her!

”Look, I’ve already gotten everything ready. I can handle this by myself!”

”Then... you can teach me?”

In any case, now that Lu Cheng was in the kitchen, he had no intention of leaving.

”Me, teach you? You want to learn how to cook?”

”Mhm. To cook for you.”

Hearing Lu Cheng’s words, Shen Nian smiled. ’Maybe one day I’ll get to eat a meal he cooks for me.’ A little thrill of anticipation grew in her heart.

”Okay. If you want to learn, I’ll teach you.”

Many men of this era lived by the old saying that ”a gentleman’s place is not in the kitchen,” never setting foot inside one. But her Lu Cheng was different!

It wasn’t just about cooking. Even before this, Lu Cheng had often come into the kitchen to help her while she cooked. So, when she heard him say he wanted to learn, Shen Nian didn’t find it hard to believe at all.

On the contrary, Shen Nian believed that anything Lu Cheng set his mind to, he could do well.

So, she figured she could probably start looking forward to the day she’d get to eat a meal cooked by him.

”Okay. Just tell me what you need, and I’ll hand it to you.”

”Mhm.”

And so, for the rest of the cooking process, whatever Shen Nian needed, Lu Cheng would pass it to her at lightning speed, completely saving her from having to run back and forth.

At first, Lu Cheng had to wait for Shen Nian to ask for something before he moved. But after a while, he sometimes had what she needed in her hand before she even had to say a word.

This silent understanding between them made both Lu Cheng and Shen Nian very happy.

And the lunch they made together, through their combined efforts, was an exceptionally happy meal for them both.

Even washing the dishes afterward was a joint effort—one washed while the other dried. It seemed that as long as they were together, no matter what they were doing, they felt exceptionally happy.

”I’m off tomorrow. Let’s go out.”

”Oh? Do you have something planned?”

Shen Nian had thought Lu Cheng would go back to work after they ate, but from the looks of it, he had no intention of leaving. Instead, he sat down next to her and spoke.

”I mentioned before that once you got here, I’d take you to meet my good friend.”

”Oh, right! When should we go?”

’Anyone Lu Cheng considers a good friend must be very important to him.’ Of course, she was interested in meeting him.

”It’s just...”

”What’s wrong?”

Lu Cheng looked at Shen Nian, a little sheepish, but he spoke anyway.

”His family found out I got married and that you’re here, and they want to meet you, too.”

Lu Cheng wasn’t worried about taking Shen Nian to meet his good friend, but meeting his family... he was a little worried she might not want to go.

”Hm? Your good friend’s family? Why would they want to meet me?”

Shen Nian looked at Lu Cheng, her curiosity piqued. ’Even if Lu Cheng and his friend are really close, his family should only be interested in Lu Cheng. Why would they suggest meeting me?’

After she voiced her question, Shen Nian saw a hesitant look cross Lu Cheng’s face.

”Is something wrong? If it’s something you can’t tell me, you don’t have to.”

”No, it’s not that you can’t know. It’s just... there are some things I don’t want you to get dragged into.”
