Reborn in the 90s with a Space: Winning Back My Husband

The fear of hurting Shen Nian and the longing to hold her warred in Lu Cheng’s mind. For the longest time, neither thought could win out over the other.

Then, a sudden sound from the bedroom jolted Lu Cheng back to his senses. All his conflicted thoughts vanished as he immediately bolted toward the bedroom.

”Xiao Nian, are you okay...?”

Lu Cheng burst into the bedroom, his face a mask of anxiety. However, the sight that met him was Shen Nian, smiling radiantly.

Shen Nian was sitting up in bed, smiling at him. She was clearly perfectly fine.

And the sound he’d just heard had obviously come from the stool that was now lying on the floor by the bed.

Lu Cheng let out a sigh of relief. He knew Shen Nian must have made the noise on purpose, but he couldn’t bring himself to be angry with her in the slightest.

As long as Shen Nian was okay, that was all that mattered.

It was just that a moment ago, he’d been planning to just make do somewhere else for the night. But now, he was standing inside the bedroom once more.

”I’m fine. The stool just fell over by accident.”

”As long as you’re okay. In that case, I’ll just...”

”What were you going to do?”

Lu Cheng had been about to say he would go sleep outside, but looking at the way Shen Nian was watching him, he found he couldn’t bring himself to say it.

He also had a sneaking suspicion that if he actually said it, Shen Nian would get angry.

”I...”

”You weren’t planning on saying you’d just rough it somewhere else for the night, were you?”

”...”

Lu Cheng hadn’t expected Shen Nian to voice his thoughts so directly. Seeing the displeasure already creeping onto her face, he certainly wasn’t going to confirm it. But he didn’t deny it either; after all, it was precisely what he had been thinking.

”Then go on outside.”

’Huh?’

Lu Cheng stared at Shen Nian. He’d thought she was angry and would surely object, so why was she agreeing so readily?

However, before Lu Cheng could dwell on why on earth Shen Nian hadn’t objected, he heard her next sentence.

”If you go out, then from now on, don’t bother coming back in.”

After saying that, Shen Nian didn’t look at Lu Cheng again and just lay down on the bed.

’Time to sleep!’

’Hmph! I refuse to believe he’ll still leave after hearing that!’

’If he still leaves after what I said, then fine! He can just stay out and never come back in!’

’My heart aches for him, sure, but I have my limits! I can get angry too! Hmph!’

Lu Cheng’s eyes widened. ’Never come in again? How could that be?!’

This was his and Shen Nian’s home; more than that, this was their bedroom. All his insistence had been for what he thought was Shen Nian’s own good.

But to be barred from his and Shen Nian’s bedroom forever? Impossible! Absolutely impossible!

’I’m not leaving. Absolutely not! I’ll sleep on the floor in here if I have to. I am absolutely not leaving this room!’

The only problem was, there didn’t seem to be anything in the bedroom he could use to make a pallet on the floor. ’But if I go out to find a spare quilt, will Shen Nian think I’ve chosen to leave?’

Lu Cheng shuddered and shook his head. ’No, I absolutely can’t let her misunderstand like that!’

’I’m not leaving. And I won’t be sleeping on the floor, either.’

Lu Cheng lifted his head to look at Shen Nian on the bed. She had already lain down and was on her side, her back turned to him.
