ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

After a few more enemies dropped dead, I started to fully understand the requirements for this particular battlefield. And this understanding brought me to think that this was most probably the original strategy for this place as well.

「Alright, I get it, I understand everything now. I was a fool to think that any traditional methods of warfare would be applicable for this particular place.」

「And as usual, I have little to no idea what you are saying, Sanraku-san……」

「L-Lunatic…… This guy’s a lunatic……」

Huh? Lunatic? Who, me? Excuse me, but that’s a rather heavy accusation to throw around like that! I’m just brave and I do not fear taking risks when there is a need to do just that! I would be a crazy lunatic if I was doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results! But I’m not doing that, you see! I change things from time to time! But still, this battle was just a Hell broke loose, no matter what you think about it.

Even if you’re getting used to me always jumping head-first into difficult battles like that, even I can tell that going in between that three-way-battle between those monsters might be a little bit too much for us to handle! Besides, the risk of us getting hit by some stray attack is way too high at the current moment. Sure, we could try to attack them from a distance, but then we would risk the aggro of everything around here focusing on us all at once. So even if we wanted to do something here, there probability of a certain death is way too high for comfort!

「Question: Are we going to struggle even more from now on?」

「Let’s just forget about the rear end and focus on the job at hand.」

「Satisfaction: So, same deal as usual, then.」

In a sense, that’s just how things usually go when it comes to battlefield tactics. Especially if we take one such as this into consideration. Basically, the battle in this here Sigmonia Frontline Valley is the one of that big premise that there is a hostility between species that leads them to fighting one another. However, this time around there is an added extra factor in this place, the one that creates a precedence unlike of which those things never seen before. And when faced with such irregularity, it is only natural that the enemies would join forces to combat this new threat.

Safety measures are only going to be a liability for us at the current moment. What’s use pickling the plums if you are not going to eat them? Same logic here: why bother having a trump card or huge firepower if you are going to die before being able to use it? So far I happened to die here four times, and it was always because of that same pattern; being overly cautious. So how about changing our approach? …… We go all out here and we either strike it big or we go home! And rather than trying to escape altogether, it will be a whole lot better to evade and look for an opportunity for a counterattack!

「Because that’s what all musou games are all about!」

「Yes, yes, we know, we know. Now go out there and have a safe trip!」

Activating the Holy Grail in my hand, I change my appearance and move right into the middle of the raging battlefield. First of all, “Kogumi Armilet”, as well as the combined skill “Souzan’s Bond”. Let’s activate both of those things.

I must say, being able to slash through things with seeming no resistance at all and making moves that would normally be impossible to pull off was still a little bit weird for me, but as long as it was going to be crazy effective it was that kind of weird that was totally okay with.

In the current situation striking attacks are out of the question, and besides, it could result in a surprise self-destruct on their end, something that I would really like to avoid if I could help it. And here even a single attack can be judged as the one to issue a self-destruct order, so I need to be careful about that. So for now I will just keep on running forward and do my best, and if some enemies turn out to be outside of the reach of my sword, then I will just have to turn towards a gun and use that to deal with them from a safe distance. Yeah, that’s the best thing that can be done here at the current moment.

「Whoa, that was close!」

Activating Limit Over Acceleration! That way I will be able to avoid the hundred-legged centipedes’ attacks before they will even get in my range, which will give me some of the much needed leeway here. Basically, in Sigmonia Frontline Valley, you can handle pretty much everything with a little bit of planning and strategic thinking like that. That is, if the stronger, leading units do not appear. Because then things might get really ugly.

Both of those units are exceptionally strong and deadly, and the risk of getting killed by them is far greater than with the regular units, too. But there is a bright side to this situation as well. Thanks to them, there will be a whole lot of smaller units which are easier to kill. And that is more than ideal for me at the current moment.

「I have something that is just right for mass killing during battles!」

Yes, a weapon that was simply made for a situation quite like this one!

So I grab the Memento Mori sword with one hand, and then I take out a large red skull from my Inventory and grab a hold of it firmly with my other hand! With that, all of the conditions should be met! Now, it’s time for a rampage!

「Alright, let’s do this thing! Blood Heart!!!」

Strong enemies equal indulgence! Indulgence equals short-term battle! Destroy Fossil Miners’ Chrysalis in this five minutes using all the means that can be used!! That’s the goal I am trying to aim for here!

I activate both “Flare Tempest” and “Stairway to Heaven”. After doing just that I jump high in the air, intending to avoid all of the pesky little small fries and get into the thick of things without having to deal with any obstacles in one go!

「I’m going to lend your back for a momeeeent……」

If there is one thing with which Fortress Gargantua is better than the centipedes, it would be that their backs make for a far better scaffolding, way more stable. While smashing the small fries to avoid the penalty for not scoring any kills, I try to avoid the incoming laser attacks, cannon shots, poison barrages and the attacks of the Cyborg Beetle as much as possible and start rampaging!

Right now there was a change in the hate of the monsters around here. I’m not bigger nor smaller, so for now I should be able to focus on stacking my kill counts without all of the bigger guys jumping my way and ganging up on me. It will sure be a struggle to go through all of them, but at this point the killing instincts start to kick in and I am able to go even crazier.

「Geeeeehhh…… You are starting to get really annoying…… rrrrrreeeeee…… Get sniped!!!」

I take out a sniper rifle named Puero. And then I first aim it at the centipede, and then shift it towards the Cyborg Kabuto.

「Opeeeen Fireee!!!」

Now, beside the absolute feeling of superiority that sniping someone from the distance can give you, there is one great advantage of using a weapon like that. Unlike the normal attacks that center aggro at you almost instantly, Sniper Rifles pack one hell of a punch DPS-wise, and does not generate the aggro towards the user as long as the enemy is not aware of the direction from which the shot came! The best of both worlds!

But even if some of the monsters were to spot me, I would not really mind. It just means that once someone spots me and tries to engage, I just have to get rid of them in a flash! And I can see we already have our first contender! Hello! How nice of you to come to me!

「Here we gooooooooo!!!!!!」
