ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

「Don’t underestimate my abilities!」

I twist the grip of the steering wheel to jump away, activate the booster in the air and rotate about one hundred eighty degrees…… And then Gravity Control is activated here! Stick to the ceiling and jump over all the wire traps that the enemies have set up!!

…… For now I managed to avoid the imminent death trap that was waiting for me on the floor, but I managed to do so just barely. If I were to reach my destination, I needed to remain cautious at all times here.

“Asterios” enables unlimited running potential in all directions thanks to its gravity control function…… but this is where the required skill value comes into play, and it comes into play hard. I don’t meet that even one bit, so I have to manually perform small operations every single time. If the skill value is perfect, it seems that it will run freely even if you release both hands and let the machine do what it pleases, but I have to move it by myself for even the smallest and most insignificant of things.

「Shit, just how much longer am I going to wonder through this space……!? Oh! Is that it!? Yes! It must be, for sure!」

After several transitions I have stumbled across a huge closed gate. It seems just like an oversized normal gate, but I am sure that there were at least a couple of those stacked on top of one another here, a security measure specifically to prevent invasions from taking place. A sort of last line of defense against human invaders…… The last barrier before the meeting with a final boss. Even a braindead monkey would be able to understand that much here.

Before coming here, Fox was in charge of security, but just because other crew members are not good at it does not mean that they cannot play puzzle games that the security locks are all about. However, Fox had the highest percentage of correct answers when it comes to those things……And above all else, there was also the aspect that it was all possible for Fox to do because other team members were protecting his ass during hacking. In other words, it’s a little bit painful to be all alone with this.

No, it’s not impossible. Knowing that, there are items that everyone brought from the Queen’s Throne, and maybe you can use it to break through this last line of defense…….. Ah, yeah. In short, it’s all about self-destruction. Due to the nature of the portable directional impact bomb that pulls out the outer wall of the battleship, you have to hold it with both hands and manually control the impact vector. I thought that I would take the initiative to die since I was doing Galaxy Traveler simply as a side activity, but…… Maybe I should give the bomb to some NPC and make them take one for the team instead? Normally, I would have no problem with doing something like that, but…… They may be stupid, but we are all a team here. And you don’t do things like that to team members.

「If someone opens the door, someone has to move on through them…… Even though I said I’ll take the initiative here and that we shall meet in hell…… God damn it……」

I’m not scared of dying here. Such emotions may come to me, but I always shake them off because they are of no use to me in such situations. If we were to stop and consider our options, we would get surrounded in a blink of an eye and be gunned down. But the reason why I managed to get here was because security is weak because it is dispersed throughout the rampaging battlefield…… There is still a trump card in my possession, so the self-destruct is not the only solution here, but using it here is a little…… No, but it’s also possible to stop here and cause trouble to other people…… Damn, I’m getting tired of thinking! Alright, suicide attacks here I come!?

「Now, it’s time to ––––––」

「UUUUUUUUUOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! GAZELLE! OUT OF THE WAY! MOVE OUT OF THE WAY, GOD DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!」

「OOOOOOHHHHHH!?!?!?」

This voice is certainly that of Rhino, and when I notice that fact and look back behind me, I can see a figure of a giant in a Power Armor rushing straight towards me, utilizing his Power Armor to the fullest, seemingly bringing the damned thing to the point of overheating. Apparently, he must have broke through the enemies by force over there, but…… Unlike me, who decided to try and avoid confrontation at all cost, he seemed to have decided to go straight for it from the very beginning, consequences be damned. And seeing the active booster on his back it is pretty easy to understand what it is that he wanted to do here. Apparently he wanted to break straight through the gate, as you would assume from the huge impact bomb that he was carrying in his left arm. I mean, that thought also crossed my mind, but I would never have enough balls to actually go and see the deed done through till the end!

「Rhino, receive!」

「Sure thing! I’m sorry, but I’m not gonna let you die in here! You and that bike of yours!!!!!!」

When I leave through the teleportation gate, Rhino plunges himself into it right behind me. Then I hand him over the shock bomb and Rhino takes it from me, about ready to throw it away. Ahh, I see, so that is his plan here, just catching it and throwing it as it is……

「TOUCHDOWN –––––––––!!!!!!!!!」

「No, I don’t really think that this thing applies in here!」

Then there was that big explosion. Thank you for all that you have done so far, Rhino, your sacrifice is never going to be forgotten…… And I’m sorry. We tried to do our best here, but we made a mistake and now you had to pay a price for it. But I promise that I’ll find a way to make it up to you somehow!

「But rejoice, our ally! Surely, that last action of yours managed to open up a path for us……!」

When it comes to riding the motorcycles, I’m not all that experienced but I’m not also unskilled. So for now let us prioritize being glued to the steady surface over pressing forward. Sometimes it’s the best course of action. After all, the thing that video games are all about is that momentary sense of accomplishment. There will be a time for regrets, but that time shall come later, after everything is said and done. Right now, we must make sure to push through with this until the end.

「Both Wolf and Python still seem to be alive…… But should I wait for them? Or maybe go ahead without them?」

Saying that I close the party members window where yet another one name seemed to be missing now, and then I look towards the command center in the distance…… Yeah, let’s go. It’s high time to end this battle once and for all.
