Global Lords: Me and My Calabash Kiddos

Chapter 107: Chapter 86: The Mercenary with 299 Consecutive Wins, Level 3 Celestial Dao Stone_2

But Yi Tian’s Celestial Ice Palm unleashed all its Qi Force.

”Second in the world, as a C-level mercenary, such Divine Courage! No wonder he managed three hundred tasks without a single defeat.” Yingqi was shocked, yet thrilled inside.

The stronger Second in the world was, the more excited he became. His life was saved.

Within the Mercenary System, it was hard to find a single soldier. Yesterday, S-level mercenaries could still be seen, but today all S-level mercenaries disappeared. Even many A-level mercenaries vanished, and they weren’t in task status.

It seemed like they were busy with something.

Hiring Second in the world, Yingqi had a sense of luck, ready for rejection.

Even if Second in the world accepted the hire, Yingqi still felt insecure, attempting to scare off Lan Hong.

Level 2 Celestial Dao Stone, compared to one’s life, was worthless.

After blocking the Blue Sea Qi Technique, Yi Tian leapt off the city wall and charged at Lan Hong.

”Mercenary, I’m not afraid of you!”

Lan Hong said, drawing a Longsword. However, his other hand took out a Celestial Dao Stone, contacting something.

”Attack!”

Lan Hong forcefully ordered the remaining subordinates to charge at Yi Tian.

At this time, Lan Hong had only one woman and five men left, plus a mount.

However, only the mount, Cyan Lion, charged forward while the other slaves cowered.

”Roar...”

Cyan Lion roared wildly, pouncing at Yi Tian.

Like most fierce beasts, this Cyan Lion had no innate talent.

Cyan Lion’s strength and physique were over five hundred, speed just above five hundred.

Yi Tian was not afraid of Cyan Lion, sending out several Celestial Ice Palms through the air.

”Bang, bang...”

After being hit by the Ice Palm, Cyan Lion’s body paused, covered with a layer of Ice Crystal.

However, Cyan Lion’s strong physique meant Yi Tian’s Celestial Ice Palm did not pose a deadly threat.

Yi Tian drew his sword and advanced.

At the moment of nearing Cyan Lion, Yi Tian’s pupils turned even darker, like ink.

The Spirit Spear shot into the just-freed Cyan Lion’s head.

”Roar...”

Cyan Lion roared in pain; his physique worked, after one breath of pain, forcefully negating the Spiritual Spear Piercing God.

However, Yi Tian’s sword was less than half a foot away from Cyan Lion’s head.

”Squelch!”

Cyan Lion lost the chance to dodge, his head pierced by Yi Tian.

After pulling out the sword, Cyan Lion powerlessly collapsed.

”Up... up, everyone attack together.” Lan Hong’s pupils contracted, his face no longer serious but showing a trace of fear.

He fought with Cyan Lion, opened his talent, and still needed effort—unlike Yi Tian, who killed with one strike.

Lan Hong went from disdainful to not daring to engage Yi Tian.

His subordinates looked at each other, too afraid to advance.

”All of you attack, or I’ll kill you.” Lan Hong pointed his sword at them, speaking fiercely.

The slaves’ Loyalty dropped significantly, falling below sixty.

They ignored Lan Hong and fled directly...

The only woman did not flee because she was bound by the Lord Contract and could not escape.

Close personnel need strict control, as those who understand already understand.

When a slave’s Loyalty reaches 60, they become bound to the territory, obeying the lord.

Usually, they won’t betray because they already recognize the lord as their master.

But if the lord constantly beats or scolds them, punishes them, doesn’t provide food, and makes them work beyond their physical limits,

the slaves’ Loyalty might decrease. If Loyalty falls below 60, they will only flee.

If Loyalty drops to 0, situations of killing the master might occur.

Loyalty is a threshold, once below this value, it plummets like stocks.

is a threshold, reaching 90 means they consider the territory as their home, becoming staunch supporters of the lord.

is a threshold, representing absolute loyalty. The saying ’A minister worries when the ruler is disgraced, and dies when the ruler is humiliated’ describes this level of loyalty.

”Damn, dare to betray me. I knew you guys were unreliable.” Lan Hong caught up with the closest Kobold and dispatched him with a single sword.

The others ran even faster.

Lan Hong indeed couldn’t catch up...

”Haha...”

Suddenly, Lan Hong laughed heartily, as if laughing in anger, but not quite.

In the distance from Lan Hong, a white light flashed, and a figure appeared.

Yi Tian saw the figure, immediately stopped, withdrew his sword, and grabbed his bow.

Did this guy step in dog dung? At this critical moment, he actually summoned a mercenary.

Yi Tian sometimes thought, when ordinary region lords summon high-level mercenaries to fight, it’s just a money game.

At the same time, mercenaries also need a stroke of luck. If the employer’s enemy spends money to eliminate disaster and summons a powerful mercenary, even with a 100% success rate, they have to flee.

Some lords say it’s reasonable, others say it’s not. There are many arguments over mercenary rules in chat channels.

At this time, mercenaries all raised their fees several times, even Purple Phoenix Moon Dance, an S-level mercenary, increased to 2 million Celestial Dao Coins.

In the future, this threshold will surely increase gradually, blocking most ordinary, middle-level region lords outside the threshold.

In fact, as a lord, Yi Tian is a beneficiary. At a critical moment, he can summon Purple Phoenix Moon Dance as a last resort; as a mercenary, Yi Tian might also be a victim.

Yi Tian must be cautious of the mercenary’s strength. For a lord like Lan Hong, who obviously isn’t short of money, directly summoning an S-level mercenary is not impossible.

Yi Tian has trump cards, but if the Three-dimensional exceeds 1300, Yi Tian must run.

Yi Tian can directly use Five Elements Divine Light to kill Lan Hong, then teleport away.

The result is predictable: the embarrassed and furious attacker’s mercenary will definitely kill Yi Tian’s employer.

That wouldn’t count as completing the task.

An employer hires mercenaries to protect themselves. What if the employer is dead,

is the task still considered complete?

Now, lords are no longer newbies or Little White. When hiring, most employers set the task as prioritizing their protection over killing someone.
