Comprehension Ability: Creating and teaching the Dao in various worlds

Chapter 64: Chapter 61: I Am the Thunder

Soon.

The group competition in the arenas of Canglan Star had ended.

Dongning City, thanks to Lin Yuan’s overwhelming force, astonishingly secured the hundredth spot.

It should be noted… this was a ranking across all of Canglan Star.

Canglan Star is divided into five continents, the Eastern Continent, Western Continent, Northern Continent, Southern Continent,

and the most powerful, the Central Mainland.

...
Over twenty thousand cities participated.

To snatch a spot in the top hundred among so many cities.

Something that made countless cities green with envy.

Everyone could see clearly that Canglan City had achieved this rank only because of “Lin Yuan.”

This Evolver, who was to a certain extent comparable to those of the Third Rank, was the core of Dongning City’s team.

As for the other three… calling them accessories would be a compliment.

“If our city had an Evolver like ‘Lin Yuan’, we could probably have made it into the top fifty,” one said.

“Indeed, an Evolver who controls a domain’s power is suitable for taking control of the entire field. Such an ability is very rare.”

“Who knows what kind of dumb luck Dongning City stumbled into. In the previous arena competitions, we never even heard of this city, and now it suddenly popped up.”

“Right, does anyone here know this ‘Lin Yuan’?”

…

Countless spectators were quickly discussing.

In the group competition, the most dazzling without a doubt was Lin Yuan.

His prominence even eclipsed those over a dozen Third Rank Evolvers.

After all, with Second Layer strength, holding off a Third Rank Evolver for over half an hour had been a rare sight in previous arena competitions.

“The individual competition is coming up next.”

“No idea what rank that Lin Yuan could achieve.”

“In my view, at least in the top fifty?”

“I believe in the top twenty, only below those dozen or so Third Rank Evolvers.”

The hype around the arena competition intensified, after all, the individual competition attracted even more attention than the group competition.

…

The Dongning City Arena.

The individual arena competition would occur a full half-month after the group competition.

Thus, it was only after the group competition ended that the individual competition began moving toward the top five hundred rankings.

Lin Yuan was standing on one side of the arena, quietly waiting for his opponent in this match.

Meanwhile, the surrounding seats were filled with spectators.

After hundreds of matches, Lin Yuan had also garnered a huge number of ‘fans’.

Especially in the last battle of the group competition, where by himself, he held off one Third Rank Evolver and three Second Rank pinnacle Evolvers for over half an hour.

Eventually, it was only because of the arena competition rules that he lost, thereby gaining countless fans.

So now, each of Lin Yuan’s matches drew a large number of spectators, these spectators coming from all over Canglan Star.

Even billions of ordinary citizens watched through ‘live broadcast’.

“I didn’t expect that in this arena competition, I could have made it this far…” host Sun Bin was deeply moved.

As the host of Dongning City, Sun Bin naturally only commented on Dongning City’s matches.

If all of Dongning City’s participants were eliminated, there would naturally be nothing related to him.

In the past arena competitions, the most Sun Bin had ever commented on was one match, decades ago, but naturally, it was nowhere near what was happening now.

It should be noted, now in the arena competition, they had reached the top five hundred, signaling that it was nearing the final stages.

Sun Bin felt like he was dreaming.

Wrong, even in his dreams, Sun Bin dared not dream such a thing.

“Alright, now our player Lin Yuan, who has created miracles all the way, has arrived,” Sun Bin generously praised Lin Yuan, then began to introduce Lin Yuan’s opponent.

“This match’s opponent is Sima Yun from Haiyuan City, also a Second Rank pinnacle Evolver, who has chosen the Water Element Evolution Path…”

Looking around at the seats filled with spectators, Sun Bin’s voice became vigorous, “In terms of historical performance, Lin Yuan definitely has a higher chance of winning, but one shouldn’t underestimate Sima Yun…”

…

On the field.

Lin Yuan looked towards the distant opponent who had appeared.

Sima Yun was a woman with blue pupils, looking at her was like looking at an ocean.

“Water Element Evolution Path…”

Lin Yuan’s face showed interest.

The Water Element Evolution Path, one of the elemental paths within the overarching Element Evolution Paths,

which include the five mainstream paths like Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth, and other special paths like Shadow and Ice.

In earlier matches, Lin Yuan had encountered some Evolvers of other types of Element Evolution Paths.

But the Water Element Evolution Path was indeed rare.

Soon.

The match began.

Lin Yuan was about to deploy the Taiji Field.

Time to closely examine Sima Yun.

Just then.

Standing opposite Lin Yuan, Sima Yun raised her hand without hesitation:

“I concede.”

Sima Yun looked deeply at Lin Yuan.

If it were any other opponent, Sima Yun would have at least tried to resist.

She wouldn’t have conceded directly.

But with Lin Yuan…

Sima Yun had been watching Lin Yuan for a long time.

She knew Lin Yuan’s way of fighting.

Opponents facing Lin Yuan often held on until the very last moment.

During which they would be ‘toyed with’ and tested by Lin Yuan.

Whether facing a First Rank opponent,

or a Second Layer one, it was the same.

Over time, Sima Yun realized something was amiss.

So, she chose to concede directly.

After all, Sima Yun felt that she absolutely could not last more than half an hour against a Third Rank Evolver.

If Lin Yuan could do it, it proved he was more powerful than her.

Rather than being toyed with after engaging in combat, it was better to concede outright.

“Conceding…”

Lin Yuan was slightly startled.

He sighed.

Lately, the individual competitors who lacked ambition like this were becoming increasingly common.

Before leaving,

Sima Yun, curious, asked Lin Yuan one thing.

“Are you also after those ten spots, like them?”

“Ten spots?” Lin Yuan didn’t answer.

When he returned to the lounge,

Lin Yuan fell into brief contemplation.

As an Evolver who could advance into the top five hundred,

Sima Yun’s words must have some basis.

“Ten spots?”

“The top ten? Or something else?”

Lin Yuan stroked his chin.

He began connecting to the Goddess of Wisdom.

“I want to know about the arena competition’s ten spots…”

Lin Yuan asked directly.

Rather than painstakingly scouting for information about the “ten spots,”

it was better to ask the Goddess of Wisdom directly, who knew everything that human civilization should and shouldn’t know.

“Di…Access granted…The so-called ‘ten spots’ refer to this year’s Canglan Star Arena competition being observed by the Chikun Star Lord.”

“The top ten individual arena competitors have a chance to catch the eyes of the Chikun Star Lord…”

The solemn and calm voice of the Goddess of Wisdom slowly emerged.

“Chikun Star Lord?”

Lin Yuan looked a bit surprised.

This was the supreme figure who ruled a Star Domain.

The Chikun Star Domain included eight major star systems, all within this Chikun Star Lord’s realm of influence.

…

Canglan Star, Central Mainland.

In a private space,

a male figure with the shadow of thunder in his pupils was sitting on a sofa.

This man merely sat there, and the surrounding void subtly flickered with fine strands of lightning.

“This is the list of competitors to watch out for in this competition, along with detailed information. Thunder God, you might want to take a look to avoid any issues during the contest.”

Next to the man with thunder in his pupils stood a middle-aged man who gently pressed on a virtual screen in front of him, dismissing it in front of the sofa.

The list mostly consisted of Evolvers who had reached the Third Rank, with a few exceptional cases of Second Layer peak Evolvers, and Lin Yuan’s name was among them.

“I don’t need these.”

Thunder God’s face remained calm.

Since his youth, when lightning had struck and killed thousands of people around him while he alone survived and his body was transformed into a body of thunder,

he randomly chose a pathway of evolution related to thunder and rapidly advanced, reaching the Third Rank in just a few decades.

With regards to combat power, he had swept through the ranks, commanding thunder, mastering thunder, and incarnating as thunder, giving him an overwhelming advantage against other Evolvers.

“Analyzing opponents is the behavior of the weak; I do not need it.”

Thunder God slowly stood up and walked to the window, his eyes slightly fervent as he said, “The competitors in this arena competition, I have never considered them worthy of attention.”

“Because they are all commoners, and I… am the Thunder.”

Thunder God stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, his tone measured, filled with immense confidence.
