Comprehension Ability: Creating and teaching the Dao in various worlds

Chapter 62: Chapter 59 Third Rank

“This is a domain.”

“The power of a domain.”

“Only Fourth Rank and Fifth Rank Evolvers can master this power of a domain.”

The host, Sun Bin, seemed to have thought of something, and said excitedly.

In theory, only Fourth and Fifth Rank Evolvers are expected to master it.

However, there are always exceptions. Certain special evolutionary paths and the personal encounters of an Evolver could also lead to an early mastery of domain power.

Of course, these prematurely mastered domain powers are still in their initial states and cannot compare with the true domain power of Fourth and Fifth Rank Evolvers.

...
Even so, for First, Second, and Third Rank Evolvers, mastering domain power prematurely is tantamount to cheating.

With a domain, you can perceive everything in advance and then implement suppression, basically sweeping through anyone from the same rank.

“I never thought that this year’s ring competition in Dongning City would produce an Evolver who has mastered a domain.”

The host, Sun Bin, was full of emotion.

His gaze then fell on Lin Yuan, who stood at the back, seemingly never having joined the battlefield.

Now, he could also see that this ‘newcomer’, Lin Yuan, was the Evolver who had mastered a domain.

Deploying a domain takes a great deal of energy, and Zong Bai and the other two were fighting with all their might, which obviously made this impossible.

Only Lin Yuan, who had been at the back from the start, had the capability to deploy a domain.

Meanwhile, the citizens watching the ring competition were also stunned, and immediately started to boil with excitement.

“So powerful, suppressing four Evolvers from Zijing City on his own and forcing them to use only a fraction of their strength—this is simply…”

An Evolver exclaimed in a low voice, “Who is this ‘newcomer’? Whose offspring is he from our Dongning City?”

“Yay, brother is so awesome.”

Though Lin Yi did not understand, she immediately cheered upon hearing the host praise Lin Yuan.

“A domain?”

“Our son, does he really have the ability to defeat Zijing City?”

Lin Shoucheng muttered to himself. He had only been flattering his wife earlier, thinking it was just wishful thinking.

On the battlefield.

The fight was still ongoing.

The four Evolvers from Zijing City were in agony from the suppression.

They also realized that all this was because of Lin Yuan.

But they had no solutions.

Under the omnipresent Taiji Field suppression.

Every step they took was extremely difficult.

An Evolver who specialized in speed did try to approach Lin Yuan.

However, the closer he got to Lin Yuan, the greater the pressure he endured until he almost knelt to the ground.

“What exactly is going on?”

The giant team captain panted heavily.

He vaguely sensed that the pervasive power of the domain could surpass his limits at will.

But why hadn’t they been thoroughly dealt with yet, and why was it being dragged out?

“Could it be that he is playing with us?”

The giant team captain felt extremely stifled.

But he did not know what to do.

Surrender voluntarily?

He could not bring himself to do that.

Time slowly passed.

More than half an hour flew by.

The area of the battlefield was gradually shrinking.

The rule of the ring competition was to reduce the size of the ring after half an hour.

This measure was to prevent some Evolvers who were proficient in speed from purposely dragging out the fight without engaging directly.

“It’s about time.”

Lin Yuan slightly intensified the Taiji Field.

Instantly.

The four Evolvers from Zijing City, facing the onslaught from Zong Bai and the other two, died one after another.

With Lin Yuan’s strength, once the Taiji Field was deployed, a single thought could crush his opponents.

However, he had delayed it until now because it allowed him time to comprehend the Evolutionary Paths practiced by the opponents.

The Martial Path Evolutionary Path, a completely new Evolutionary Path created by Lin Yuan.

The position that Lin Yuan stood in, was the peak, the limit, while ahead of him was an unknown territory.

He needed to slowly explore and create.

During this period, it was necessary for Lin Yuan to absorb various advantages and disadvantages of other Evolutionary Paths.

Integrating them all and pushing out the old to bring in the new.

This couldn’t be achieved just by shutting oneself away in closed-door training.

Of course, with his Against-Heaven’s Understanding, even if he shut himself away in isolation, he believed he could gradually perfect the Martial Path Evolutionary Path.

But that would definitely take much longer than now, and the subsequent developments of the Martial Path might lack the comprehensiveness that comes with integrating hundreds or thousands of Evolutionary Paths.

“Did we win?”

Even though they had expected it, Zong Bai and the others felt as if they were dreaming at this moment.

They had truly defeated opponents who were previously unbeatable.

After a moment’s pause.

Zong Bai, Cao Rong, and the third person respectfully approached Lin Yuan.

They knew in their hearts that their victory was entirely thanks to Lin Yuan.

Without Lin Yuan, with their own strength, they would have been directly crushed by that giant team captain into the ground.

“For this ring competition, no matter how far we reach, all the rewards we receive will be given to Mr. Lin,”

Zong Bai thought about it and then said.

One should be content with what they have, considering the strength Lin Yuan just displayed.

This time, they are not just talking about breaking into the top five thousand but even the top three thousand or two thousand, which is highly likely.

The top three thousand in the tournament receive official rewards, and Zong Bai felt unworthy of them.

If he had contributed even a little, Zong Bai would have had reason to convince himself, but just now, he was merely a puppet on a string, doing whatever Lin Yuan said.

Any other Evolver could have done the same.

Therefore, regarding the official rewards… Zong Bai felt he didn’t qualify.

“So do I.”

Cao Rong and Lü Xiguang exchanged glances, saying likewise.

In the following two months.

The tournament continued.

Besides the team competition, Lin Yuan also participated in the singles competition.

As for the results… he naturally ‘narrowly won’ each game.

There was no choice, Lin Yuan certainly could finish his opponents quickly.

But that would defeat the purpose of participating in the tournament, prolonging each battle to carefully comprehend the path of each Evolver.

Then refining it into his own Martial Tao, discarding the dross and selecting the essence; that was what Lin Yuan wanted.

The Evolvers in the tournament all had considerable strength, especially as it progressed, each one could be called a genius.

The top five hundred Evolvers were basically at the Second Layer Limit, and occasionally, a few at the Third Rank would pop up.

Soon.

Dongning City’s team broke into the top hundred on Canglan Star.

In a devastating struggle against competitors from Central Mainland, they lost the match.

The opposing team was from Lanyue City, one of the most prosperous cities in Central Mainland.

Among their four players, three were at the Second Layer Limit and one at the Third Rank.

Moreover, the evolutionary paths they pursued were extremely powerful ones.

Especially the Third Rank Evolver who practiced the Dream Evolution Path.

Thus, as soon as the match began, Zong Bai and the other two hadn’t even reacted.

They were plunged into a deep dream by a single glance from that Dream Evolver and were eliminated from the match.

Only Lin Yuan was left.

Nevertheless.

Lin Yuan, under the frenzied assault of the four Evolvers, managed to hold out for half an hour by leveraging the Tao of Taiji.

In the end, even as the arena’s size diminished, Lin Yuan could still endure.

If not for the team competition rules, which decided the match in the end based on the number of remaining Evolvers if no winner emerged,

Lanyue City had four Evolvers left.

Dongning City only had Lin Yuan.

Thus, Lanyue City won.

“I never expected our Dongning City to break into the global top hundred.”

Mr. Liao said, as if he were dreaming, a position he had never even dared to imagine.

Not just him, but even putting together all previous presidents of the Evolver’s Association, none would have dreamt of reaching this rank.

“It’s all thanks to Mr. Lin.”

“Just relying on us…”

Zong Bai and the others also present immediately spoke up.

If it were just the top three thousand or two thousand, he might still dare to claim some credit in front of Mr. Liao.

But the top hundred… that was terrifying.

Top hundred in the global tournament… every Evolver, even those specialized in support, could easily sweep through all Evolvers in Dongning City.

Zong Bai, thick-skinned as he was, didn’t dare claim this merit.

“It was Mr. Lin…”

Mr. Liao nodded in satisfaction.

He was no fool, having watched the matches firsthand, he naturally saw that it was always Lin Yuan who controlled the turbulence.

Zong Bai and the others were no better than accessories.

“Where is Mr. Lin now?”

Mr. Liao asked with concern.

Since losing to that team from Lanyue City, Lin Yuan had withdrawn from the virtual universe.

“Mr. Lin… Mr. Lin said he needed to seclude himself for a while.”

Zong Bai honestly stated.

Lin Yuan had indeed told him this before leaving.

“I see, Mr. Lin must be tired.”

Mr. Liao nodded in understanding.

After all, the opponents from Lanyue City were too powerful, especially that rare Third Rank Dream Evolver whose strength,

if unleashed to the fullest in the real world, could plunge nearly a million civilians in half a city into sleep simultaneously.

To contend with such a terrifying opponent indeed exhausted one’s mental strength.

Shuiyue Residential Complex.

Residence number thirty-two.

Underground training facility.

Lin Yuan sat cross-legged.

Dozens of matches in the tournament, witnessing hundreds to thousands of different Evolvers.

Critiquing countless evolutionary paths in his mind while integrating them with his Against-Heaven’s Understanding.

At some unknown moment.

Lin Yuan suddenly opened his eyes.

A Taiji pattern of interlocked Yin and Yang flashed within the depths of his pupils.

“Third Rank…”

Lin Yuan exhaled softly.

The aura within his body began to change swiftly.

The Third Rank of the Martial Path Evolutionary Path had finally been achieved.
