Get Stronger by Pleasing Pokémon? Who Needs to Be a Trainer!

”Maybe they just like getting beaten?”

What the…

Hearing Mew’s assessment of the two Legendary Pokémon, Lin Feng couldn’t help but laugh.

But thinking about it, Mew’s observation made sense.

One rules the sky, one rules the ocean, one rules the land.

In theory, they shouldn’t interfere with one another, which would be the perfect arrangement.

Yet those two always ended up fighting at the slightest provocation, forcing Rayquaza to intervene.

It would beat them both into submission.

Lin Feng was well aware of all this, but Jirachi clearly wasn’t. Listening to Mew, it occasionally let out small cries of surprise.

When Mew mentioned how a single fight between the two massive Pokémon could destroy entire areas, Jirachi’s expression turned angry.

It even scolded them silently.

A thousand years ago, it had been because of the Pokémon carrying that massive cannon attacking Lin Feng’s camp that Jirachi had wished for Rayquaza’s assistance.

So, when the two giants fought and Rayquaza intervened, Jirachi had developed an even stronger impression of the Sky Guardian.

So much so that…

The rain from earlier began to fade, the gloomy clouds dissipating, and the sky cleared.

Jirachi didn’t even notice.

Instead, Mew squinted toward the sky, slightly puzzled.

It had only transformed into a Pokémon for a bit… and now it was chasing after them?

”Has the rain stopped?”

Lin Feng watched the two Legendary Pokémon talking and stared at the suddenly clear sky, a little taken aback.

He didn’t dwell on it further.

Meanwhile, far to the east, at the Pokémon League Headquarters in the Donghua Region, in the Space Observation Division…

This department was usually idle. Its work was light and uneventful.

For over a decade, nothing major ever happened.

Their daily tasks involved observing the mysterious universe, checking for abnormal energy fluctuations, and reviewing satellite imagery.

Occasionally, a strange shadow would flicker across space on the monitors.

Today’s staff member sat as usual before the satellite feeds for the Donghua Region, a cup of wolfberry tea in hand, comfortably watching the screens.

He liked this job sitting here all day, monitoring the feeds, and leaving when the shift ended.

He could even enjoy the vast, starry sky from time to time.

Just when he thought today would be just like any other, an alarm suddenly blared, signaling a powerful energy surge.

He froze, then hurriedly set down his cup. ”Rotom, pull up the feed!”

Immediately, the monitor displayed a scene: the towering sky, thin white clouds drifting, and a black serpentine figure streaking rapidly toward the Donghua coastal region.

”Zoom in!”

The figure was too blurry to discern. He had Rotom isolate and enlarge the frame.

When the image paused and magnified, he almost spat out his wolfberries. ”No way!”

”Rayquaza!? Isn’t that a Pokémon from the Hoenn Region?”

This was a Legendary Pokémon, living in outer space.

According to human historical records, it only appeared during the conflicts between Groudon and Kyogre, to stop the two titans.

And even then, it usually only appeared in Hoenn.

How could this be a Shiny Rayquaza appearing here?

”Report: Powerful lifeform approaching the Donghua Region!”

Rotom’s voice came in timely. He immediately triggered the highest-level alert.

Worry gnawed at him.

Good grief. Rayquaza is here. Does this mean Kyogre and Groudon might clash in Donghua?

That would be catastrophic.

The alarm rang, and a young man sitting nervously in Qinyuan Café froze.

He grabbed his phone, called immediately. ”What is it?”

”Champion! Rayquaza is heading toward the Donghua coastal region. The cause is unknown. Be alert for potential appearances of Groudon or Kyogre!”

The reply came quickly. The young man’s expression turned grave. He left the café at once and summoned Moltres.

As he mounted it, he asked, ”Where exactly?”

”Changsha City… no, past Changsha… Wutong City…”

”Wutong City?”

Feng Yang found the name familiar but, pressed for time, didn’t dwell on it. He instructed quickly, ”Immediately initiate the highest-level evacuation drill for Wutong City. Citizens must evacuate north or seek the nearest shelters!”

”Yes!”

Moltres soared into the sky, flames blazing as it sped forward.

On his phone, Rayquaza’s path updated in real time.

Feng Yang sat astride Moltres, eyes fixed on the moving red dot.

When it stopped, he quickly checked the location.

”Neighbor’s Nursery?”

Feng Yang gasped.

All his speculations were suddenly real.

...

At Neighbor’s Nursery, in the garden.

Lin Feng was still puzzled about how the rain had stopped so strangely.

Rotom hovered anxiously, flying forward.

”Attention all citizens of Wutong City! A powerful Pokémon is approaching. Please evacuate north or seek the nearest shelters immediately!”

It buzzed urgently. ”Master, Wutong City has issued an emergency evacuation notice!”

”A powerful Pokémon?” Lin Feng asked, startled. ”How powerful?”

He had seen many strong Pokémon before. Regular Pokémon wouldn’t intimidate him.

But the next moment, Gardevoir appeared beside him, face serious, eyes scanning the sky.

Suddenly, the wind howled, the weather shifted drastically.

Above the entire garden, a pale yellow eye descended.

Then, a dominant black form spread across the sky above the garden.

It twisted its colossal body in the air, and Lin Feng finally understood why the rain had stopped so abruptly.

Rayquaza!

This was the real Rayquaza!
