I Have the Alchemy Emperor in My Head

Chapter 394: A Storm Is Approaching and It’s About to Rain Blood

Besides Chu Yunfan, who had exhausted his stamina, Sha Peng and the others were severely wounded as blood gushed from their bodies.

Soon after, a flying drone carried the rest of the apes’ carcasses onto the jet while Chu Yunfan and the others took the opportunity to return to the jet to recuperate. An hour later, everyone’s wounds were no longer a concern. Their True Energy and strength also recover to their peaks.

Jeang Yuanbin looked at his students and nodded in satisfaction. These were Federation University’s elites, after all, and they were not scared off by that sudden battle. On the contrary, the fight against the apes only stimulated the students’ competitive spirits and they in turn received a form of soul-tempering.

“Those apes were nothing to us, sir,” Sha Peng said, grinning proudly. He had killed a monster whose cultivation level was higher than his. He usually did not dare to fight this recklessly in the wild, but he knew he could return to the Black Hawk to heal and did not need to worry if he got severely wounded.

“Hmph, do you think the other apes will let you off the hook so easily?” Jeang Yuanbin laughed chillingly as he looked toward Chu Yunfan.

“What else do we have to go through?” Ke Rui asked.

“The real test begins tonight. You have killed seven apes, and it’s evident they belong to the same troop. Their alpha will realize a few apes are missing, and when that time comes, he will come looking for revenge. You all must face the wrath of the entire troop. Did you think it would be that easy?” Jeang Yuanbin said indifferently. Then, he looked at the students and recalled being just as naive once.

Sha Peng and the others felt a wave of fear wash over them as they thought back to their fight against the apes. They had had so much trouble dealing with just a few apes. The consequences of facing an entire troop were unimaginable.

“A troop consists of hundreds of apes. We killed seven, which is only equivalent to a drop in a bucket,” Chu Yunfan said solemnly.

Of course, there would not be a problem if the students hid inside the Black Hawk fighter jet. However, it was apparent that Jeang Yuanbin was not about to let them do so. They had no choice but to face the wrath of the apes’ revenge tonight.

“That depends on you guys. If you’re not strong or smart enough, your families will only receive your death notices,” Jeang Yuanbin said calmly, “Why do you think our school has an instructional system? It’s to select and nurture outstanding students. Since you’re my first batch of students, I’ll undoubtedly be stricter with you. I’d be exceedingly disappointed if you can’t pass this test.

“If you wish to become the best elites and geniuses in the entire Federation or even in the human race, you have to make sacrifices. There might be only one slot, but the number of people who fall along the way is more than ten million.”

“I understand, sir. We’ll think of a way to survive,” Chu Yunfan said.

After that, Chu Yunfan and the others redescended into the forest.

“So, what should we do? There are hundreds of apes in the entire troop. Also, their alpha is an Acquired monster. Even an Acquired Stage expert would have to flee in fear,” Ruan Yingyu asked.

“We can’t flee now. Federation University will not waste resources on someone who doesn’t have values they can nurture. Do you know what it means to receive the guidance of an Innate peak instructor? Only those in the Acquired Stage would receive such treatment. Other people only receive the guidance of ordinary Innate Stage instructors. If we give up now, we will never catch up to those in the Acquired Stage,” Sha Peng said after some pondering.

One could even say that this was the Federation’s rule of conduct. In a situation where humanity’s survival was constantly being threatened, a person can only be helpful or useless. That was all there was to it. After all, an eagle in the sky would have nothing to do with an ant on the ground.

“Although the situation is dangerous, Mr. Jeang brought us here to temper ourselves, not kill us. There must be a way to do this and survive. He won’t just let us die,” Chu Yunfan spoke as he nodded, “Mr. Jeang said we need to be strong and smart. We won’t be able to do it by relying on strength alone. I think I understand what he meant.”

“What did he mean, Captain Chu?” Ruan Yingyu asked. She trusted Chu Yunfan more than ever because he had saved her life.

“It means that our strength is not enough and that we should outsmart the apes.” Chu Yunfan noticed everyone’s eyes on him, so he continued, “We will die if the apes surround us, but if we can face a few at a time, that should ease the pressure.”

“Are you talking about those tree hides?” Ji Shiqing’s eyes lit up.

Chu Yunfan shook his head and said, “That won’t do. Although the trees are pretty wide, I’m afraid they won’t stop hundreds of apes. We should find a cave instead. If the cave’s entrance is small enough, we can funnel them in. It would be impossible for hundreds of apes to enter all at once. In that way, we’ll have a chance of surviving. We should spread out and quickly locate a cave that will allow us to survive the night.”

Chu Yunfan looked at the others and knew it would be a bloodbath. However, the first few nights would be the hardest. Things would get much more manageable when Sha Peng and the others adapted to the 0.5 times and him to the four-fold gravity. The only terrifying thing was the Bloodmane Ape alpha.

‘In that case, let’s have a showdown. How powerful could the alpha be?’ CHu Yunfan thought. He was not flustered because it was not the first time he had fought with an Acquired Stage expert. Instead, his gaze was profound, as if he could see through the pitch-black forest.
