Medic Martial Dragon King

Chapter 616: Chapter 616 War Begins_1

”For a mercenary corps’ domicile, there are two places that are most important.

One is the armory, and the other is the dormitory.

But the defense forces at their armory and dormitory are weaker than other areas, which proves that there must be a force present in their armory and dormitory that gives them peace of mind.

And that force can only be the Paladin Knights!”

Chen Jiantao explained softly.

”This... This is a weakness?” Mo Bao blinked.

Chen Jiantao gave a slight smile, ”The personnel might be roughly the same, but the weaponry differs. Light machine guns are deployed at each patrol point, and everyone else has assault rifles or rifles, yet at these two locations, they only have pistols.”

”This...” Mo Bao was convinced, how the hell did he notice that?

Other members of the team, including An Long, were also impressed. They had not noticed this detail; they had only been focusing on the number of people and the perimeter firepower, completely overlooking the armory and dormitory guards’ weapons.

From this, people like An Long also understood why Jiang Chen had appointed Chen Jiantao as the overall commander—the difference between a professional and their scatterbrained selves was stark!

”Here’s the plan: Mr. Mad Tiger and Mr. Mo Bao, the two of you must not reveal yourselves yet. If the enemy’s Paladin Knights don’t show up, you must not expose yourselves. Just follow me and An Long. In this operation, the two of us will reveal ourselves as the commanders. If the enemy’s Paladin Knights decide to make a move, we will certainly be their first target.

If they continue to hold back, then wait until we move on the armory. That’s when you two locate their Paladin Knights and take them down immediately. Do not let the Paladin Knights from both places converge. Although the Dragon King’s mission for us is to annihilate 80 percent of the enemy, if we’re going to do this, we should aim to completely annihilate them. Otherwise, we would let down the Dragon King, who used himself as bait, and be prepared for a fight to the death!”

Chen Jiantao first laid out the plans for the two from Mad Tiger, emphasizing their key role as the linchpin of the war.

”Alright, we’ll follow your arrangements!” The pair from Mad Tiger nodded in agreement.

Chen Jiantao smiled slightly and then turned to look at An Long, ”How many snipers do you have?”

”We... we have three!” An Long said awkwardly.

”Ah?”

Chen Jiantao paused for a moment, then shook his head slightly, ”Fine, let all your snipers focus on the main gate. I’ll deploy our snipers around the encampment to take out any fleeing enemies. How many heavy gunners do you have? That day, it seemed like you had quite a few machine guns.”

”Yes, our guys all like playing with machine guns. We have eight heavy machine guns, four Fire God Cannons, and forty-six light machine guns,” An Long reported on the Dragon Flame Mercenary Group’s machine gun strength.

”You guys... you’re really something!”

Chen Jiantao commented with a laugh, ”Lucky this is a siege. If it were a mobile battle, I guarantee that with this kind of firepower distribution, it would be your biggest vulnerability. Strong firepower is great, but it’s not the case that the stronger, the better. Three snipers, over fifty gunners...

Do you believe me? If the earlier simulation had known about your firepower distribution, with just my sniper squad, I would be able to completely annihilate you guys in the jungle, valley, and swamps!”

”I believe you!”

An Long surrendered unresistingly, trusting in what Chen Jiantao said.

In past battles, he and Xuan Long had felt that something was off, but other than when they faced off against the Dark Spider Mercenary Corps, they had always won and hadn’t thought too much about it. Now that he thought about it, their weapons distribution truly was abnormal.

”How about this, An Long, distribute some of your machine guns to us, and hand over all the heavy machine guns. Since you guys love heavy firepower so much, let our Heavy Gunner Squad teach you how to properly apply heavy firepower blockades in actual combat,” Chen Jiantao suggested.

”Okay!” An Long nodded.

Chen Jiantao smiled faintly again, arranging the remainder of the firepower. Once everyone was positioned, An Long and the others suddenly realized that Chen Jiantao had managed to form an encirclement capable of surrounding a thousand people with just two hundred men. Moreover, it was impeccably tight, without a single gap to exploit.

At that moment, the members of the Dragon Flame Mercenary Group truly recognized the capabilities of their commander.

Tap tap tap!

Boom boom boom!

When 11:30 in the early morning arrived, the gate of the Dark Spider’s base was engulfed in a barrage of gunfire.

”Enemy raid!”

Squeak, squeak, squeak!

The garrison was instantly thrown into chaos with shouts, the sounds of running, and alarms blaring out.

The people of Dark Spider had never expected that Dragon Flame would actually attack their garrison tonight, and most of them had already fallen into a deep sleep.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

More than a dozen rockets flew toward the garrison’s dormitory building.

Swish!

A figure shot out from the dormitory, bellowing furiously, ”Bastards! Dragon Flame Mercenary Group, you’re courting death!”

The figure swiftly dodged the rockets, sprinting toward the direction of the main gate.

”Second plan, Mad Tiger, Hei Bao, take out that Paladin Knight. Heavy Gunners, get to the weapon storage at full speed and block that Paladin Knight there. Even if it means death, you can’t let them join forces!” Chen Jiantao shouted orders loudly.

”Yes!”

The Heavy Gunners hurried towards the weapon storage flanked by two teams of assault troops; Dark Spider’s Mercenary Corps were caught off guard, the gate’s defenses weren’t reinforced, and the other members didn’t arrive in time to offer support, so the defense at the main gate was breached by Dragon Flame’s initial charge.

Swish, swish!

Mad Tiger and another person swiftly leaped out, confronting the Paladin Knight rushing from the dormitory area.

”Hmm? Why are they here... Mad Tiger? Mo Bao? Burst Flame is intervening!” The Paladin Knight from Dark Spider exclaimed in shock as he saw the two charging at him, then loudly called towards the weapon storage: ”Li Tasi, get over here, Mad Tiger and Mo Bao have come!”

Swish!

A figure rushed out from the weapon storage, saying hurriedly, ”Mu Da, hang in there, I’m coming right now!”

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

Several sniper bullets flew, aimed directly at Li Tasi.

Li Tasi’s face changed as he hastily ducked for cover.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

The succession of sniper bullets forced Li Tasi to tirelessly evade. He could have endured bullets from a sniper one by one, but now, with seven or eight bullets fired at once, he wasn’t confident he could withstand them all and had no choice but to avoid them as best he could.

”Li Tasi, hurry up!” The roar from Mu Da came through.

By the time Mad Tiger and his companion reached Mu Da, even though Mu Da wanted to stall them with some words, they didn’t say a word and instead launched a ferocious attack.

Bang, bang, bang!

Mu Da had just finished calling for help when Mo Bao took advantage of the pause in his speech to land three consecutive heavy strikes on him.

Pfft!

Mu Da’s body was sent flying, spitting out a mouthful of fresh blood.
