Medic Martial Dragon King

Chapter 605: Chapter 605 The Real Identity of Scar_1

Mengda Ge’er gave a wry smile and said, ”It seems that my mission this time is going to end in failure again, Mr. Jiang, are you going to take my first kill twice?”

”You... you haven’t taken on another task to kill me, have you?” Jiang Chen asked in surprise.

Xuan Long and the others were all taken aback, turning their gazes toward Mengda Ge’er.

Mengda Ge’er gave a bitter smile and said, ”This is the first time I have accepted an internal team assignment. I’m the lead for this mission... and the contract was Mr. Ge’er Te’s!”

”Ge...” Jiang Chen understood, Dark Spider was Ge’er Te’s force, and since Mengda Ge’er said so, it must be Ge’er Te who had issued the mission to exterminate Long Yan!

”It seems that this Ge’er Te really cares about Dark Spider!”

Jiang Chen’s eyebrows were tightly furrowed. He wasn’t worried about facing a powerful enemy, but he didn’t want to fight Mengda Ge’er to the death, and, what’s more, Mengda Ge’er said it was a team mission, meaning it wasn’t just him involved.

If they happened to clash with the Spa Training Camp, that would completely antagonize them, considering Jiang Chen couldn’t just watch Long Yan fall into trouble. Once the Spa Training Camp was offended, Long Yan wouldn’t be able to develop normally internationally and might even be extinguished by the Spa Training Camp’s forces.

For a colossal entity like the Spa Training Camp, no clan was unafraid. In instances where the Spa Training Camp sent a team for combat, their targets were inevitably destroyed—there had never been an exception!

Everyone in the room thought of this, their brows deeply furrowed.

Could it be that Long Yan would have to return to their country?

Members of clan forces knew that the Flame Dragon Kingdom was forbidden territory for assassins and mercenaries; once back in the country, even the Spa Training Camp wouldn’t dare to enter the Flame Dragon Kingdom to kill on a large scale.

A struggle flickered in Scar’s eyes. Clenching his teeth and steeling his heart, he spoke in a heavy voice, ”Dragon King, I can handle this matter!”

”Hmm?” Jiang Chen turned his head to look at Scar, a hint of confusion in his eyes.

Xuan Long looked at Scar meaningfully and said indifferently, ”You want to talk?”

”Hmm? Big brother Long, you...” Scar looked at Xuan Long in astonishment.

Xuan Long said with a light chuckle, ”When you guys first joined us, we had a conflict with the leader of the Blazing Flame Mercenary Corps, Yan Mo. When I thought we needed to ask for Dragon King’s help, the issue unexpectedly resolved on its own, and I’ve been wondering ever since who helped us out!”

”I remember you told me once that Yan Mo also came from Spa Training Camp. People in the clan forces know Kuang Shi came from there, but no one ever mentioned Yan Mo, and how did you know about it? Given our past conflict with Burst Flame, I suspect you’re either related to Burst Flame or to the Spa Training Camp. And now you’re saying this, it makes me even more certain.”

Scar was taken aback and gave a bitter smile as he looked at Xuan Long, ”Big brother Long, thank you for not questioning me.”

”I wouldn’t question you. When we left Flame Dragon Kingdom, Dragon King told me, if we meet brothers abroad who are worth exchanging lives for, we shouldn’t doubt them over a mere suspicion. It would hurt the brothers’ feelings. When brothers fight side by side, what’s needed is empathy,” Xuan Long shook his head gently.

Scar turned his head to look at Jiang Chen, his eyes filled with a complex expression and a hint of shame in his heart: ”Dragon King, Big brother Long, I’m sorry... I’ve kept something from everyone. My name is Ge’er Yan, I’m the illegitimate son of Spa Training Camp’s boss Ge’er Kusi and his third son!”

”What?”

”The rumors are true?!”

Everyone was stunned, even though Scar had just said he could handle it, no one had expected it to be in such a way, Ge’er Kusi’s illegitimate child, if he pleaded with Ge’er Kusi, then...

Mengda Ge’er was even more shocked, his gaze complicated as he looked at Scar: ”There’s always been a rumor in the training camp that we had a third Young Master. I never imagined it would be you!”

”It’s me!” Scar nodded heavily.

”Scar, if it’s too difficult, you don’t have to do this!”

Jiang Chen spoke in a deep voice: ”Things haven’t reached the point of no return. In the worst case, Long Yan will withdraw to the Flame Dragon Kingdom for the time being. Once Mengda Ge’er and their mission term is over, we can come out again. We can’t just let them wait at the border of Flame Dragon Kingdom indefinitely because of an internal mission, can we?”

”Dragon King, no need. The competition for the heir of the Ge’er Family is about to start, and I can’t hide anymore. Ge’er Kusi has given me an ultimatum. I have less than a year of freedom left. After this year, I must return to take part in the competition for the heir. By then, my identity will inevitably be made public!” Scar shook his head.

”The competition for the heir?” Jiang Chen’s eyebrows slightly furrowed, his eyes filled with profound meaning as he looked at Scar.

With a wry smile, Scar said: ”I know that mentioning this would definitely arouse your suspicion, so I’ve been hesitating whether to tell you or not. I’m not interested in the identity of the Young Master of the Ge’er Family. I just want to live a stable life as a mercenary.

But... I have no choice. Since I have this bloodline, I have to go back in six months. I was thinking that after enjoying my last six months of freedom, I would give up the right to the inheritance and live a secure and indulgent life as a wastrel.”

”Do you think you can be a wastrel?”

Jiang Chen spoke indifferently: ”I’m not sure what kind of family the Ge’er Family is, but from what I know of powerful families, once there’s an heir, he will likely remove anyone who could threaten his position. You, as an illegitimate child, have a particularly sensitive status. The ones who become heirs might spare their other brothers out of fraternal affection, but you, you will certainly die!”

A bitter look flashed in Scar’s eyes: ”I know, I know that’s the end awaiting me, but... I also want to fight for it, yet I don’t have the power to compete!”

”Why don’t you?” Jiang Chen raised his eyebrows: ”Are you underestimating Long Yan?”

Scar was taken aback for a moment, a guess forming in his heart, and he looked at Jiang Chen with a shocked expression: ”Dragon King, you...”

”Since you can reveal your identity for the sake of Long Yan’s affairs, why can’t I make Long Yan even stronger to be a support for you?” Jiang Chen stared straight at Scar: ”Remember Scar, I, Jiang Chen, won’t abandon any brother!”

”Dragon King!” A touched expression appeared in Scar’s eyes, his heart filled with warmth.

Since childhood, he knew he was an illegitimate child. After his mother’s death, he drifted to foreign lands, becoming a mercenary since he was a teenager, up until now.

Over a decade had passed, he had never actively talked about his identity with anyone, nor had he ever truly felt warmth.

But today, he felt something different from Jiang Chen.
